I know this is a really old post, but I was curious what people's thoughts are on the custom guild heraldry. I would love to create my guild logo in Crowfall, but I am worried that the design needing to be approved may end up being too basic to do my crest justice. Right now for my guild EK, I have 1 KS amber, 1 KS sapphire, and 1 2015 sapphire packages. Right now we are trying to determine if we get the Ruby package or not which literally hinges on the quality of the custom guild heraldry.
With one ACE founder being behind Trammel (I believe?) and the other Wiz101, really isn't that surprising to me. However, like I said in the other thread, no reason we can't have the best of not just two, but multiple ways to play.
What you desire on the basic level should still be there come launch, just not meeting hyped up expectations as no game will. CF is not my perfect game, but if they get enough things right, I'll give it a chance. Given up on expecting too much from devs, but I wouldn't mind being surprised.
Have you checked out Albion Online? Finally launching next month. Seems like UO from what I remember and has a decent number of past UO players as well. They too have walked back their "hardcore" game hype, but overall seems to have made a better product. Can't spawn camp fresh players and non-combat people actually have a chance to run away so some are mad, but I find it silly that people that call themselves PVPers want that. Been playing a bit as the final beta runs down and likely will play at launch. Again, not my perfect game (point and click is yucky) but scratches the itch for now.
This is just an awful thread. It started with OP citing "facts" that are maybe true in this current test, but are wholly unrepresentative of what we know the end game to look like. I really hate the trend of snap-shotting current builds, as if assuming this game isn't still a huge work in progress. You need to spend 3 years reviewing everything the developers have said like most of us have, and then try to hold them accountable to *that* vision. If you haven't bothered to read what the vision is, why should anyone bother to read your inane posts.
I couldn't come up with a suitable analogy for this behavior, but that's fine, because this thread doesn't deserve it anyways.
