Need some clarification. I would like to know why certain people are getting temp bans for for pointing out infractions that people are not getting these points for. Is there favoritism on these forums already ?? either do it for all or don't do it at all. Because it is really frikking stupid to ding others but not certain guild<s>.  If this is not a question a mod can't answer, point me  up the chain of command to get an answer then. thx.

Discussing specific cases of moderation on the forums is against the rules I believe.  You should contact the support email.

They can just as easy send a PM if its that big a deal. I did not realize this was a military forum that you have to go through the proper channels through to get an answer, I thought it was a gaming forum. Thx for the info though Viking. I expect another ding form the mods any minute now for posts lol.

The Rules of Warning Points

1. You do not talk about warning points

2. You do not talk about warning points

3. Mod always wins

I got a warning point today for replying to another thread that complained about warning points. I didn't even claim it was unfair or anything. I expect to receive another warning point once the mod finds this thread.

They do seem to be "warning point" happy. I just want clarifications on them from an actual mod, just so there is no grey areas. Points for all or points for none. Seems simple enough.

There is a forum for general discussion of these issues:

http://community.cro...the-great-hall/

Some rules posted there too about specific moderation issues:

It is pretty normal for any forum of a certain size to have rules against discussion mods actions in public, simply because it can very quickly escalate into a very unpleasant discussion.

There should be transparency when it comes to modding, there should be no favoritism, bias what so ever.  I felt there was, so I questioned it or at least a place to air my concerns. I don't care if it escalates or is uncomfortable, it is something that needs to be on the up and up, especially when this game goes live and politics really plays into it. Can't have mods sticking their noses into posts when things hurt snowflakes feelings. that is all I am getting at.

Exactly this. seems everyone is getting points for dumb stuff. Mod doesnt understand were trying to ruffle feathers for politics. get some rivalry going. I thought this was suppose to be a "hardcore" game. the forum lately is as carebear as iv ever seen.

From talking with a decent amount of people, the "points" for posts is out of hand. The mods need to understand there is a level of asshattery that comes with a "hardcore" pvp game. If we are going to get a ding every time there is some asshattery, we might as well call it snowflake fall and call it a day.

You believe? Oh we all know that you are keenly aware of the rules, as that's how you've managed to stick around trolling these forums for so long without consequence. Well, that and a little help from above maybe.

Props though, took that right out of my playbook. I can respect that.

Watch it protonix. VIKINGNAIL is a ACE Development Partner and you get warning points for talking ill of him. I speak from experience.

Although it is our policy not to discuss specific cases, this is the proper place for discussing our policies in general, so I've moved this thread here from General Discussion.

"Rage reporting" is a form of "Report Abuse" when someone gets angry about being reported and retaliates by deep-digging to find someone else's posts to report. Abusing the Report button is a reason for getting a warning. Reporting old posts (three months ago, a year ago) is considered Report abuse unless it's something particularly egregious (such as hate speech, porn, etc.) Reports need to be timely. Yes, this means that some minor things may slip past us but that's inevitable with a small team like ours.

When a warning is issued, we explain why it was given, and we review each report on a case-by-case basis. If someone still has questions, they can contact us at support@crowfall.com to ask for clarification. We will not discuss one person's account with a third party.

Note that the game and forums have different rules. You can read them here: http://crowfall.com/en/rulesofconduct/

When posting on the forums, remember the golden rule of "Don't start nothing, won't be nothing." Save the throw-downs for the battlefield.

It's long been proven that the greater the forum rivalries, the more meaningful those in-game rivalries become. There is one inexorable truth in this type of conquest game - forum politics matter.

edit: Board Warrior. The proper name is board warrior.

The golden rule should be "play and post to crush".

Start it on the forum, finish it in game. Then start it on the forum again, or lie about what happened in game, and cause an even bigger fight.

There have been numerous discussions about this and it always comes back to Todd and Gordon saying they do not want "forumbane" here. Gordon has promised that in the future we will have private forums for guilds that guild members can manage however they choose. Until then, everyone must abide by the rules we have for these forums at this point in time.

Well it doesn't have to be "forumbane", but it can be a reasonable approximation. It doesn't have to be the WILD wild west, just you know, not church. I'm not sure why a more politically oriented forum has to necessarily turn into Forumbane.

Although I mean, Forumbane would be best, since I already won that, but I'm willing to give other people their own place too.
