  1. Hey folks, We are aware that many of you are waiting for the new version (6.100) to go live with a Dregs campaign; the anticipation and energy is palpable. We are moving fast to accommodate that excitement, making changes as quickly as we can -- apparently too quickly, because this morning's update presented a strange new assortment of bugs and behaviors that we have never seen before. Please know that we are looking into the issues now, and hope to have them resolved as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience. Todd

    Mounts in 6.100

Just to give everyone a heads up on mounts for the near future. The current system of being able to claim an inventory item and import that inventory item is not our long-term solution. It is merely a way to get most of the pieces and parts in-game and player tested. In a future Beta milestone, when we have what we call "the Skins" system online, purchased mounts will be an account entitlement that unlocks a "mount skin", which can then be used to override the appearance of your in game mount slot. (We will use the same system for weapon appearances from KS.) Until the Skins system is

I bought the game nearly a month and a half ago, but only started playing about a month ago. I’ve had a blast so far and hope to see the game move into a good direction and find its place in a world with ten thousand MMOs. That said, this is a list of mostly gripes with the game. My hope is most of this is seen as constructive criticism, not discouragement. This is done so I can vent my issues with the game in hopes that these things may change or at least get nudged in a bett

That's not silly at all. If you don't know what's going on you can't plan out your play testing by yourself, with friends or others and you can't help us to move on to things we should be working on right now. It's great to see the community so passionate.

Hey Crows, We wanted to give you an update on the status of today’s effort and next steps. The team identified several issues and are testing a build internally that we believe should address the issues identified today on the Infected World. We will monitor those changes overnight. Thanks for your patience with this process and for your support in identifying these issues. As always, if while playing you encounter unexpected issues or bugs, please post them to the Bug Forum so we can locate them quickly and take action to remediate.

    MMO World / Haters

I see a lot of people talking about Crowfall, bored already..etc. However, Crowfall is the only game consistently making changes, patches, and progressing the development of the game while giving you something to play as you wait. Shut up and be thankful they cared enough to let you play during development rather than do what Camelot Unchained, New World (other than the one week preview) and every other does is make you wait for years with nothing substantial to play. The MMO world is sooo dead right now and badly needs a game to come out to revitalize and very much dead genre.

  15. Since I couldn't find any kind of comprehensive list or table of each race's unique weapon looks, I figured I would just make one. 4 Full scale image can be found here. Some designs are duplicates, so hopefully more will be added in the future. If you see any issues let me know and I'll update the table.

  16. I started testing Crowfall shortly after the closed Beta began. It's now been about one month. Honestly, I already have ZERO desire to play. I just log in to spend my points and talk snit. I had such high hopes for this game, and defended it in game forums before I played it because the ideas were so good. Now, I just feel like I wasted my Gaming budget for August/September. Most of what initially attracted me to this game, like the Eternal Crow going from Vessel to Vessel without logging in and out, has been phased out of the game completely. I rolled up and played each class t

  18. The game has some fun and unique ideas: the strategy game, the keep building (even if not free building), the eternal kingdoms. Hopefully these will continue to improve and get fleshed out. That being said, there's a lot of pieces of this game that just aren't where they need to be. The alpha/beta debate aside, I can only hope that these parts of the game are not seen as feature complete. In many ways they're the bare minimum needed to check the 'feature exists' box. In its current state, the 1-30 experience is bland, even with the NPE. The NPE does not feel like a game. There's the ol

  19. I agree but I question how ACE is presenting the game/design to the world. The marketing I've seen compared to my experience 99.9% of the time in game aren't the same. What makes it a "throne war" compared to any other open world PVP game? What is a throne war? No fealty No bend the knee No king or ranking of any sort Lack bare minimum guild features No free building No real conquest control over the map No destruction or permanent influence on map There is no throne to take The "war" conclusion is who gets the most points before ti

  20. Instead of making new features or getting away from the casual friendly reasoning behind passive training, why not just make it more accessible to reach a viable spot with what already exists? Just guessing, but it seems like it would be easier to make initial training be it the basic trees or initial progress into a specialized tree come sooner and or increase the quality/outcomes of what is gathered/crafted early on. Initial quick skill jump then a long slog to become the bestest ever at whatever. Instead of "I can't play until I make green/blue" how about relatively easily and qui

  21. I'm curious if the marketing failed here. With the beta invites I'm seeing a lot more threads of people like OP saying "The endgame is all PvP and I don't like PvP" That's cool. Not everyone is in to PvP. I don't like MOBAs and Battle Royale games so I generally don't try them out. I'm wondering why install a game that works so hard to advertise itself as a competitive PvP throne war if PvP isn't your thing? Was it a situation where the game didn't make its intent clear to people before they installed it or what? Are people being given the impression by the marketing that Crowfa

  23. Just FYI @ACE-Tiggs @jtoddcoleman the importance of this level of communication with the playerbase cannot be understated. The last two weeks have been really crazy from a bug and playability perspective but you've really stepped up your game on the communication front over the last week. It seems silly but few sentences posted like this goes a REALLY long way. The obvious takeaway here is that you've managed to build something entertaining enough that people are VERY passionate about getting back to the fight.

  26. Why don't we just go full 2020 and add a "Social Justice Warrior" class to the game? It could be fun to figure out what the abilities are for the class. I'm guessing it would get a lot of "suppress" crowd control. Maybe a couple "blind" abilities too. It would be art and animation heavy as I imagine it would need to be available to all races. Definitely a leather class though. We know they don't have thick skin so mail or plate wouldn't be appropriate. I think a CC promotion, stealth promotion, and healing promotion would make sense. For the aforementioned reasons I can't see a SJW

I have to be honest, I hate this new forum theme. It doesn't feel like "Crowfall"... at all... and reminds me of a basic blue forum layout from the early 2000's. I do have to say, the new features are nice. I know I can't be the only one who thinks this way but I love you and had to say something. EDIT: It has since been fixed. #saved

  33. The proof is in the pudding. How many people are running around in crafted gear with armor solutions? ACE can you answer that? Got any metrics for that? Whites? Greens? Blues? Purples? Gathering in this game is a punishment. The changes they did today return it back to that role of custard no I do not want to do that. The last few days I have been putting off a well deserved kudos post about how they are finally valuing the gatherers time. I was too slow. I liked gathering the last few days. 34. If it helps add to the argument Raven is making, I started a guild at beta release with the hopes of helping new players and driving them in the right direction and showing them some bits of end game. We amassed 40 players and we were doing what we could as a 40 man guild for about 2 weeks. At this point is when people started to leave due to boring gameplay loops and lack of content. Want to PvP? Good luck, you either zerg a small group or get zerged by a mega guild. Not much fun nor challenge to be had with this. Want to PvE? Incredibly shallow experience that gets tedious and b

I have not become involved heavily with a guild this whole time (I have my reasons) ^ take the above comment for what it's worth. For 5 years I've been logging in only to get bored within a single day and have zero desire to log in again until the next big announcement. Doesn't anyone realize what a problem that is? I was excited as anyone about this game and it's promises, only to become more and more disappointed over time. I will certainly play at release BUT at this point, only because

Just got done reading this entire thread and came to the following conclusion on this debate: OP and APE - Stuck to their argument consistently and only continued to strengthen it through the thread. zenasprime - Moved goal posts at least 3 times to try and save his argument only to ultimately lose in the end. 41. No alternatives. Guinecians are Renaiisance Italians, Centaurs are peak empire Romans, Humans are like 12th century british, elves are persian/indian hybrids, half giants are scot/norse hybrids, etc. etc. etc. Fantasy media often borrows from human historical cultures because historical cultures are easy shorthand for expressions of cultural values through costume. This is fine.

IMO, we haven't really been PLAYING the game all these years, we've been TESTING the game. Some of us do this testing to help the devs improve the product, some of us do it to learn the tricks of the game systems so we're ready for a fast start when the game launches. Many of us do a combination of the above. Mac

  43. Animation canceling isn't perfect in this game. I would prefer it to take more skill than it did. The timing requirement was basically zero (which makes sense admittedly, hard to create tight timing windows in mass scale MMOs) and there is no cost to animation canceling. Usually animation canceling is gated by one of these two mechanics (costs something like a resource or a cooldown, or has an execution barrier so it can be custarded up). I would like to see animation canceling return but with something along these lines. That being said, any animation canceling is better than

One of the problems MMOs have had over the years is trying to please everybody. Sure it's lead to some good innovations, but the games have largely lost their soul. History is littered with MMOs that were constantly shifting their focus and ultimately committing suicide (Star Wars Galaxies is probably the most egregious example). IMO the devs need to figure out what their game is. Define what the foundations of the game area and let that guide your decisions. Right now this game is a Guild v. Guild, Faction v. Faction sandbox PvP game, where those groups compete for supremacy in a se

  46. This is a long post, and I intend for it to be my last post of this kind. Here's to the game finding success. Obligatory comment on performance. Improvement has been notable, but more is necessary. Now to the game. Spread us out more. Let us choose where we live and build. Shadowbane was awesome because each city was its own center of gravity. We need to be able to bind places other than the temple. Shadowbane was a cult success because guilds had different centers of gravity. The temples are a misunderstanding of how important that is.

  47. Getting rid of cancels is fine. Crowfall's flash casting wasn't designed to shave frames off of animations. It was designed to reactively break the GCD for certain effects that are designed to interrupt your attack chain. They fixed them to ensure they are used for their intended purpose, as reactionary skills. "The skill ceiling" is a moot point in this design. Individual player combat skill is a factor, but its impact is deliberately secondary to the impact of more accessible player skills like group composition, target calling, planning, build theorycrafting, and encounter selecti

  48. I'm in the boat with Ama and see this as needed and good change. Animation cancelling is up tuning those classes that have powerful fashcasts more than intended. But I do agree that flashcasts generating buffs need to have their timer start at the end of the cast. For those complaining about having to reroll that's what tends to happen when you move from 1 FoTM class to the next.
