Some month ago we reached the Stretch-Goal for VR-Headset Support. To say Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. Now two weeks ago i heard about the new FOVE VR Headset (actually kickstarting, with a focus on developers). This Headset tracks eye movement and tells the system where you are looking at. So for example you can target an enemy with your eyes and shoot with an eyeblink, instead of using a mouse. Somehow this feels like technical frippery. But the general idea of it is just awesome. Too awesome to not ask: Could this be something for Crowfall?

Huxley, I suspect one of the reasons for the campaign bands is exactly so that novice PVPers can dip their toe into the more forgiving campaigns without getting blown out of the water by the old Shadowbane bittervets. And maybe you find that it's not so bad, so your second campaign you go down a band and see how that goes... everyone should be able to find a risk/reward level that suits them best, and sometimes you might discover that that's not where you thought it would be!

wow wow wow, no. Condemning people to hell is not taking the high road. I hate when people try to defend poorly made socks like this: he takes mass generalizations and demonizes people based on them, and judges them in the harshest manner he knows how. There's nothing high about that. He's a bully, he just happens to thump a bible instead of heads. He literally spreads hate under the guise of spreading love, which is, imo, one of the worst things a human being can do.

    Make Arrows An Item

You're probably misunderstanding that no one actually thinks infinite forever. We just think "not in stacks of arrows," or "a single item to represent your arrows." That's what we mean by "infinite." With that in mind, it's been stated a ton of times here, but for economics quivers can degrade just like all the other gear, and therefore will require the same kind of maintenance, just in a predefined cluster. And long reload animations and cooldowns can create the careful play and managing of shots, without dealing with inventory menus. It's not really hard, and suggesting that removing stacks of items oversimplifies it is creating a false dichotomy. Technically, in real life, I have to sheath my sword and draw it, and running involves coordination and can result in tripping. But dealing with these mechanics in games is unintuitive, so we leave them out and instead focus on other features that games do well, and it doesn't hurt the experience. Games don't do "carrying around piles of arrows" well. Removing that doesn't mean the game has to suck though. To take the slippery slope argument even further, should archers have to use a minigame to knock the arrow properly, and draw the bowstring effectively? Should mages have to actually type out incantations that they've memorized? Games abstract concepts. That's how it works. We draw arbitrary lines based on what is easy to implement, and then tweak the mechanics (or add new unrealistic ones) in order to keep the same level of skill and the same kind of play. Drawing the line at insisting that stacks of arrows are necessary for good play is just not a very good argument.

I am admittedly trying to get every in game advantage possible?? Where the hell do you get that notion from? The only threads that I have made are regarding ideas that help everyone. If you're referring to my posts regarding multi-boxing/clienting.. if you actually read my posts you would know that if any of my ideas on the subject were implemented I would actually be LOSING an advantage rather than gain one. It's pretty clear that you've never actually read any of my threads and are just looking to derail or troII this thread. Also, in order for anyone to be able to use imgur.com as a means to distribute "back doors" via image files they would have to hack into imgur's machines manually place the files somewhere their security systems wont detect them then manually create references to albums and public pages where people can view and download the images... pretty farfetched to think anyone would risk years of prison and break into a multi-million/billion dollar company to take your account for a game that hasn't even been released.

I prefer open discussion, I don't mind everyone seeing how wrong you are. P.S. I understand resource sinks, I will agree with you that games typically need one. Considering that the economy in this game is kind of odd, in that it is an economy not for the game but for the player made towns/trophy houses, I could also argue against needing resource sinks as it doesn't really matter what goes on inside the EKs. That is another topic entirely however.

There is so much truth in the above quote!!! LOL As far as the video. That's an old one. We had many lulz at the expense of that video. Although I vehemently dissagree with just about 99.999% of what he says, it still took some stones to put himself out there like that.

False sense of entitlement, people want everything about the game to revolve around their preferences. It should be common sense to understand that not everything about the game will be tailored to any one person's preferences.

Thanks for the suggestion, though the picture of the different races might be a bit tricky the Archetype role icons aren't hard to make at all. Also, icon colors can be changed in order to distinguish race and damage type. These will be useful when identifying who plays what type of class. Communication will most likely work at the speed of Skype and Teamspeak, except on "pub rings" (God's Reach / Infected, where god allegiance matters, which will likely not have such a close-knit community). There, communication and scouting can be controlled in game. How? I don't know.

    2FA is not working

Most likely problems we've seen are: Your google authenticator is not up to date Your clock on your phone is not synced to a master time (or that time is off with our time) Possible phone incompatibilities with the authenticator I'll have the web guys check the logs when you tried to authenticate. If you can post your hardware, OS version for your phone that would be helpful.

Again, I think it's another example, because it's easier to visualize for us this way what the benefits could be. And it doesn't have to be a Knight specific skill. I could see other archetypes use a mechanic like this as well. I think you're taking this info way to literal. Another thing, we might test all sorts of skills just to test mechanics in (pre-)alpha that won't end up in the game. To see if it works, if it causes problems and most important if it's fun.

No. F=MA. If force remains constant and mass increases then velocity decreases. Depending on aerodynamics and atmospheric conditions, the 1oz ball may have drag or wind problems though.

I read it more as an example they use to explain us how physics will/can work in Crowfall. Not a real example of a skill for the Knight.

    Make Arrows An Item

Are you attacking the darkness? You could go a few hours and not see anyone. You could be in a siege and use more. What if it was finite but you were able to retrieve arrows that missed their target and were stuck in dead corpse? Assuming you could find said missed arrow. Looting arrows could actually be a new 'profession'. It would be the scavengers of post-war locations.

    Make Arrows An Item

Yeah that is true, but then again mages might have their own logistics chain with reagents. And melee players generally have more expensive armor and tend to get hit a lot more and wear said armor out a lot faster which is a chore in itself and arguably the largest of them all. There's no good reason why there shouldn't be finite ammo, for a game like Crowfall I don't get why this is even a discussion.

    Make Arrows An Item

Crowfall isn't Diablo. CF isn't a hack-n-slash dungeon crawler. For all we know 1 arrow may kill a person. We don't really know what TTK will be or what they want it to be. I think players should have 100HP. Gear has durability which when is busted provides no armor. This means, 1 arrow, 1 attack could be lethal. This is how I see CF (I could be wrong). Those that want infinite, just want to spam arrows all day long with no decision to make at all. There is a reason Hunters have a name in WoW. Blizzard removing ammo just proved that. In WoW, I understand infinite ammo. There's no gear loss. There's nothing to lose at all, only time playing. CF isn't like that. You lose, you get reduced resources upon exit of the campaign or nothing at all. ACE already have decided on making decisions meaningful, this would be another. You can't carry around 100k arrows because when you die (and you will) you'll just equip the enemy. Until we know how much ammo it'll take to kill someone, I'll assume finite would be better. As for the regeneration of energy/mana or whatever resource, well it could be slow. We've played games long enough to feel that if there isn't instant refill then it sucks. What if CF introduced a mechanic that made mana regen at a set rate and couldn't be sped up? What if that applied to all Archetypes. Melee could have something similar, stamina, energy or whatever. What if bandages just held off bleeding but didn't regenerate HP. There are so many things that we could speculate about. I just don't see the fun in spamming arrows/gunshots all day with no recourse. Every class will have durability on their weapon. Every time a sword hits something a small amount durability could be used. That same amount could be used for the bow. Yes, if someone chooses the Archetype with a Bow or Gun then they should know they'll have to get ammo. Now these Archetypes should have means for combat without said weapons. It shouldn't be as proficient as others, however.
