We think we are better than you. It would be a most fair judgement to describe us as a flock of "homing pigeons", we will key in on your insecurities and abuse you ... verbally. We may offend your morals, yet you will still laugh at the jokes, which only served to fuel your own self loathing. Though we are really just your everyday average joes' who like to hang out and act cool on the internet. Some of our triump

/hail fellow crows, Always need to start with that traditional greeting. It's been customary for me since 1999. I'm a hyped nerd getting into a new MMO that has the potential we all look for in a game. Vast content, super focused core design philosophy, community driven, and generally just a great idea. I love it when a game company shows the confidence to explore something that has never quite been done before. I enjoyed my first pre-alpha Hunger Dome experience last night, and I'm looking forward to this evening as well. "I'm just lucky to be here"

Hints so far From http://crowfall.com/en/news/founders-update-what-will-your-crowfall-legacy-be/ It WILL require a shift in the way you are thinking Tie together some of the elements in a way that you never expected The idea comes straight from our lore It touches on everything from character creation to advancement to death and looting From http://www.crowfall-community.de/index.php?/news/fans-presse/mmorpgitalia-interview-mit-j-todd-coleman-november-2015-r134/ There is an intersection point between PvP combat and character advancement, but it is in the form of physical items: equipment and

    Hello everyone!

I've bee a backer for Crowfall for a long while, but I purposely stayed away from the forums and website. I tend to over saturate myself in the game and burn my mind out. (I shudder to think of returning to the RSI forums...) But I thought I would drop in and say hi! So... Hi!

  18. Damn, no minimap makes me sad. Minimaps/radars have always been way easier to use in mass-scale PvP because it gives a much better overview compared to just a compass. It makes it a lot easier for leaders to call out things and it makes it a lot easier for people to follow what the leader is calling out too. I get the reasoning behind them not wanting to show off too much information like seeing the world, seeing enemies, etc. but I really wish we could just have a minimap/radar in a tiny square that was just black/blank and only showed group/raid dot indicators + N/S/E/W + coordinates the

  20. You guys need to stop hammering each other over whether friendly fire is a priority or not, it's not the community that's confusing it. It's ACE. They (Todd) originally said they wanted FF in all modes and it was also mention in the earliest versions of the FAQ. They (Gordon/Todd) later started saying that friendly fire was out in faction modes, and would like to make it work to some extent in all modes, and several other statements... They aren't consistent, I've been saying it for a while now, it feels like there are two or more diverging visions for Crowfall and sometimes we get

  24. I think Canth is on to something here. Why have army veterans consult on field tactics when you could have a librarian arm-chair theorize some tactics that are probably just as valid? Why have oncologists and pharmacists consult on the development of new cancer drugs when we could be including the thoughts and ideas of physicists? Physicists are smart people too, you know. They shouldn't discredit a physicists opinion on gene therapy just because he has no idea what that field looks like. Progressive ideas like these are key to Crowfall's destruction success. #realchange #CanthSanders2016

  25. Hate to admit it, but voicing a lot of my fears for the game. The vast majorities of the animations certainly show that FF is not in mind for melee at any stage, and if it is, then God help all melee toons, as they are going to get shafted every second of combat. They would need health pools the size of planets to survive the first few seconds of ability dump that happens with any skirmish. I keep thinking about how to implement FF with combat as they've shown us...and I'm stumped, short of them adding new abilities, attack speeds, and animations tailored to FF, and as many point out, the

  26. They could use the Hunger Dome game play as a model for player controlled PvP matches within a given EK. That could even be something offered as an add-on or in-game acquired item. Groups could wager in-game gold, etc. They'll probably come up with a siege mode soon that would work for that purpose as well.

  29. More than 8 months ago Crowfall finally started to make sense, when the famous "Hunger Week" revealed that the game is based on non-permanent campaigns divided in seasons. Hunger was supposed to consume each world, and all the things among them, everytime. Hunger was described as a destructive force that spreads from one world to the next, like an infection – twisting and corrupting everything it touches. Which sounds very close to the last info drop: "The idea comes straight from our lore, and it touches on everything from character creation (1) to advancement (2) to death (3) and looting

  31. Friendly Fire really isn't some kind of unicorn that only hardcore players enjoy. There are plenty of ways to penalize FF in a restricted environment rather than just remove it, you can cause escalating debuffs, penalize resources, steal valuables from the perpetrator and give them to the victim. You can also have a set of options for the victim to decide the penalty in cases where they condone the action and want to forfeit retribution. This goes beyond the possibility of reducing friendly fire damage and simply making friendly fire block allied attacks without taking damage, even t

  36. I would agree you can't wait too long to test this mechanic but think its more important right now to get the base combat set and moving in the right direction before you add more to it. I would think and hope ACE is smarter than that that they wouldn't push this off till far down the road. Have confidence they will start testing this and other features when the time is right.

  39. Based on the Kickstarter info, the Dregs ruleset is the "Core Module" for the game. I feel we absolutely need friendly fire in this ruleset as an anti-zerg mechanic and to raise the strategic skill level of combat. The sooner we can get it in testing the better, and then we can move forward with FF as the baseline. I honestly don't care if FF just gets turned off in the outer 2 faction bands. Players choosing those rulesets most likely want a more "co-op" pvp experience. I'd rather the Dev team not waste a bunch of time making a complex flagging/karma/punishment system that will get ab

  41. This is completely untrue. That's like saying the only way to get from one place to another is by bicycle. "Player driven content" can take almost any form. Assuming of course the game supports the outlets (e.g. crafting, music, economy), not to mention the twists a human player can put to all of that. The trick here is to understand there are different personality types that come into an MMORPG. And just because YOURS happens to be pew-pew exclusively including shooting your comrades in the back, to the exclusion of all else, . . . doesn't necessarily make it so for everyone els

  42. "Friendly fire at every opportunity" is what drives all player generated content, if that's what you meant Bramble. What made UO fun wasn't killing every person you saw (well sometimes it was) it was the possibility of conflict that made it memorable and entertaining.

  44. This is entirely untrue. Abilities DO need to be built around FF. In fact an entire archetype ability set needs to be built in consideration of FF. Tactics are an after effect of all this. Take for example the champion's whirl wind attack. If FF was on right now, this would be basically be a no guano ability. If you had other friendly melees around, you would almost never be able to use it. Situational abilities are fine, but abilities like this where you most likely only use it 5% of the time, with a limited action set are pretty terrible. We're not talking about having a bar of 40 a

Has been asked and answered multiple times, last one was 4 days ago. http://community.crowfall.com/index.php?/topic/6493-why-build-on-another-monarchs-kingdom/?hl=why+build I'll ask the reverse, why wouldn't you want to build in someone else's EK or what's your incentive for playing alone? Being the Monarch of an empty EK doesn't sound very interesting to me. I have little to zero intention of building up mine at the start or overtime unless I receive a direct benefit that I can't find just as easy or easier somewhere else. I'll be more than happy to move everything I received from
