Caldera's first thought on viewing this...... lord of the rings - minas tirith - death of denethor which we will recreate as soon as possible using essence burning druids (and perhaps a gliding assassin as a sweeping camera!) heres a sneak preview....

Might be a silly question but will we see special parcels made for the Citadel/Palace? I mean something like the picture shows (cliff on a big lake, actual mountain) or will it be more like a general plateau like for keeps and castles. Or if you ask it differently - will Mountain Citadels/Imperial Palaces/maybe other building types too be able to fit on more 3d like terrain and not only on plateaus like with hills, actually mountains, etc. I mean it would be nice nice well... the name calls it - Mountain Citadel.

Nope. If gender is more than a cosmetic choice players will choose gender based on advantages instead of what they want to play. You should not penalize cosmetic options in a fantasy rpg in any way, be it gender, hair style, skin color, whatever. It was a bad design already in 1978.

    VIP Bonuses/Privilages

Striking a good balance for VIP is difficult and providing value without advantage is extremely difficult. Your suggestion is bad and is exactly what they're trying to avoid with the pricing model. "I'd pay 15 bucks for it therefore it is a good idea to include it in VIP" is a poorly thought out argument that completely ignores the negative. I'd also pay 15 bucks for an ion cannon that I could use to blow holes in people's castles, a crowfall helicopter, and an ingame target dummy with thomas blair's face on it. All 3 of these things could be justifiably included with VIP by your reasoning. In truth, the only correct amount of power increase from VIP is zero. If it was as simple as more money = stronger, it would be a lot easier. Multiple simultaneous archetype training Pros - About as close as you can get to being pay to win without technically being pay to win. Only more choice and not actual power is offered. The distinction is key. - Casual players who only occasionally log in for big sieges or only play campaigns intermittently 1) won't care about the statistical penalty from untrained archetypes or 2) are fine only playing one class anyway since they don't play the game that much. This is good because the entire point of a pricing model like this is to allow people who don't want to pay for VIP to continue to play the game, populate the servers, and hopefully stick around and someday become paying members themselves. Cons - Incentivizes shallow, narrow archetype design so that people are more motivated to buy VIP. If a Knight can do Infinite Cool Stuff, there is no reason to train Not Knight and no reason to buy VIP. Faster training for VIP Pros - More money in the short term. - helix would pay for it. Cons - The game becomes P2W. - People who don't have VIP will feel that they are complete garbage and cannot compete, even if it isn't true for some reason. Then they'll quit. - At this point you may as well just use a monthly fee model. An actual helicopter ingame Pros - It can fly. - i'd pay for it. - using the real physicsTM system, rangers could be dropped from a great height in order to cause damage, thus justifying their existence in the game. - The logical conclusion of reductionism is that all things living or non living are composed of the exact same fundamental building blocks. I will continue to make this argument until the developers allow my crow to possess the helicopter and add it as a new archetype, thus allowing me to literally identify as an attack helicopter. Cons - It may be difficult to fuel a helicopter in a medieval environment. Thomas Blair Target Dummy Pros - Catharsis after every balance patch improves morale and retains players. Cons - None, my idea is perfect. In all seriousness, cosmetic skins are the gold standard of F2P and a sure way to make money when EKs fail. Assuming we're only going to have 3-4 armour types (leather, scale, plate etc) simply add a step in the crafting process to apply a skin to the armour created by inhouse artists. If you want to get really fancy and cost efficient, let community members submit armour skins and give them a cut of every sale if their work fits the art style of Crowfall. Since unity is being used, I can't imagine it's too hard for the tools and assets to be shared, but there's probably a bunch of weird legal issues I'm unaware of. Regardless, dota gets away with it so I'm sure it's possible. Dota 2 / Path of exile are generally good places to look for F2P ideas as they've done it the best. As to my skin suggestion and VIP, you could add a discount to the skin store and a monthly overwatch style random cosmetic lootbox to VIP. The con of my suggestion of course is that it incentivizes base armour designs to be bland. But they already are so it's fine, and it's the lesser of evils.

I don't like guild applications, otherwise I would have applied already. Maybe in the future. Also, my beard grows on my stomach instead of my face and I don't know why. Life is unfair. And I made you guys extra sexy:

I'm looking forward to hopping in game to test for the first time later today. I haven't been active here since just after the KS ended, but much thanks to those of you who've stuck to help shape things and offer steady feedback. We'll see how the test goes, but I imagine I'll be looking for a guild in short order. A bit about me pertaining to gaming: Long run in DFO/DF:UW almost entirely with the Battle Saints. Walked away from Agon...I don't know...1 year ago? 2 years ago? Love full loot group PvP, siege tactics, and working markets. More recently I've been playing a little Elite: Dangerous and a lot of Overwatch.

They cant it simply does not work with the design of the game. Once you see the vessel system in action you probably will love it. The crow/vessel system is one of the big things that makes crowfall special and different.
  11. 2 points
Should we sell our character slots or do they convert into vessels? Also will multiple accounts per player be aloud? I have read confusing post from players but haven't come across any info from ArtCraft on this subject.
  12. 2 points
Yes you can upgrade Small --> Med --> Large. Then you can trade in Stronghold --> Keep --> Castle. It's in the FAQ under Eternal Kingdoms.
  13. 2 points
When we had slots all characters came with 3 slots by default, so 3 default + 3 extra = 6. Of course now we have the crow and vessels.

    VIP Bonuses/Privilages

It would be p2w, which is not the best way to go, especially for pvp games. Right now the benefit of being able to train 3 archetypes at once is significant already.

There is no tagging. Anyone can and will take the resources from a POI if not challenged. Nice or polite has nothing to do with it. This is a PvP game and you will be fighting over the resources from the POIs. That's the whole point.

FYI for anyone who didn't know, ACE updated all the Fort and Castle Greyboxes, check them out in the store.

So guess this confirms or hints that wall and tower pieces don't always have to connect and snap together at square angles. Tons more options and possible configurations if true.

Help! Should I buy a small castle, and large keep if I have a KS medium fort? Or are the resource costs for all of them going to be so undeity much that I'll never be able to build it? Or does it serve no purpose to have more than 1 of the largest fortification. I'd love to tinker with as much of the EK building as possible but not 100% on the actually possibility or viability of doing that solo or as a small group is. Though I am keeping my wonderful Collectors Edition box w/ figurines to snuggle with at night. 3 Char slots still seems worthwhile to hold on to.

Another question I have would be that once we buy/upgrade to a bigger better parcel what restrictions will be put in place to stop people from immediately "flipping" that purchase once the new price points come out? I am pretty content with my small castle, large keep, and large fort but don't really want to miss out on buying up some of the discounted re-estate if we are able/allowed to flip it for profit in the future (I guess its the capitalist in me).

If I sell my "Stronghold-small castle/BaronBaroness-15'" to then rebuy the KS variant of it for the same price, will I lose the titles associated with it? When I upgraded my "Stronghold-medium fort/KnightLady-KS" to a Large fort the new backer reward just says "Kickstarter Large Fort" So the new item descriptions have me a bit worried.

Hey, sorry to bug you, but since you're answering questions: Is it still planned that if someone buys a small stronghold that it will be upgradeable to a medium/large one through play?
  26. 1 point
Hmm I think i'm gunna buy another mountain citadel but i'm curious how cramped the EK could be anyone got a reference for size of the EK ? i've looked but have come up with outdated info? Anyone able to shed some light on that or point me in the right direction?
  27. 1 point
Is it still planned that if you buy, say, a small fort or keep that you can eventually upgrade it, in game, to a medium and eventually large version?

    Gender Advantage / Customizations

Most games allow us to SWIM in full plate, chain, and cloth/leather armor. My guess is any "gender" based issues don't even register on the scale of "immersion breaking". Equalizing stat attributes across gender models simply makes sense. Particularly if you aren't a Turnip growing in someone's basement nowadays and see the news where someone incited a Riot because someone else called them "girlie". You will be able to import stuff (Items/resources/...) from your EKs into campaign worlds. The stronger/better your EK the better the stuff you can import. They said the imports will be limited, but yeah. But they also said there will be no import campaigns. For those who want a fair, untouched campaign worlds, with no interference of EKs. So thats a solution for me. I dont wanna play in campaign worlds, where there is one powerful guild or faction with one or two overpowered EKs, getting some advantages in the campaign worlds because of that. They can be powerful in this campaign world, I dont mind, if they are good then its that, but I dont want some people winning the campaign world because they got some overpowered EKs. Win the campaign world because you really deserved it, but not because of your overpowered EK.

Question : Will the individual pieces of forts/castles we get after September 1st be redeemable for store credit?
  31. 1 point
You can get a lot more value on your already bang for buck purchase of KS rewards right now. There really isn't a downside. You would only lose the backer rewards that you redeemed. For example if you redeemed one VIP, you would not have that one VIP anymore.
  32. 1 point
That is true, but difficult to judge size/scale off of those screenshots. Just a personal opinion but I don't think that a small castle should be able to fit within the confines of a large keep.
  33. 1 point
It's not just the number of pieces it's also the size of each one.
  34. 1 point
Based on the images available, is it just me or does the large keep appear to have more pieces than the small castle? Is this intentional? Is this a case of the large keep having a larger surface area but the small castle being made of higher quality materials? Do we know the approximate footprint size of the structures themselves?

I upgraded to ruby package last year, and am debating on consuming it, and getting the citadel. also, i noticed that the "guild heirarchy" option to consume it, which was $800 is now gone. i wish ACE would have given more information on this, like a list of what is what price...would make it much easier, and they might bring in more money.
  37. 1 point
Perhaps the additional packages which were available to me were there because I have a 2015 package. All sorts of variables.
  38. 1 point
Oh I get it, yeah it's different if you plan to trade the package. You ruthless capitalist, you.
  39. 1 point
Oh really, please read the context. Angel said the sapph/ruby 2016 packages has been removed from the shop between sunday and monday. I said no, they are still there, except if you already bought one. Only then they are removed from the shop list. And that this was true before sunday. So please don't tell me that's incorrect by telling me excactely the same things i am saying. And please bear in mind that the conversation i reacted on was about the actual shop packages alone. These one's you can only buy once. Context.
  40. 1 point
Well it makes sense to remove something if they could generate ENDLESS amount of free money off it. Example I use the Kicksters ruby packs turn it all into store credit for 2000ish value then buy the 2016 2 ruby packs and break those down into MORE money by cashing in. Those 2 ruby packs turn into say 1500 each and then now I can buy 3 ruby packs break those down and then buy 4 ruby packs etc...
  41. 1 point
No difference between those two castles, they are the same. You are welcome!
  42. 1 point
Tyrant, I may need your help. I originally was thinking of upgrading from the small castle to the medium but I changed my mind after I already redeemed my small castle. Is there any difference between the 2015 Sapphire Backer castle and the 2015 castle on the store? If not no big deal. Also, I want to say thanks to ACE for allowing us to customize our packages. I know this has probably resulted in a bigger headache than they foresaw but it is greatly appreciated.
  43. 1 point
The guild package is something like $700. They could outsource it to fiverr.com and make $695. Even if they didn't outsource it, does it take an hour to make a custom guild crest and Melissa's rate is $700 an hour?
  44. 1 point
This isn't an inconvenience it's a deliberate block to a service without reason. Could we please be provided with some insight into what is going on? I haven't seen any news on this. Is there a link to why Ace has stop providing a service that has been part of the consumer's ToS since gifting was enabled?
  45. 1 point
If necessary you can always gift us (MWH) one of those mountain citadels. It can make up for the citadel you burned down on ice island...
  46. 1 point
I'm unsure as to the reasoning behind this. If guildmembers are gifting VIP tokens to their guild leader so the guild leader can cash them in for store credit to buy an Imperial Palace, that sounds like something I would expect ACE to embrace. Those guilds are trading in something with real world value for pixels. Down the road, they'll end up buying more VIP tokens as needed. If the goal is to have folks spend additional cash on these items, that's fine. I'm not sure why you made them redeemable in that case, though. Makes more sense for them not to be redeemable than not to be giftable.
  47. 1 point
The original VIP gifted in say... an Amber package were not normally giftable. But if I purchase a VIP it is. So if members redeem these into cash and later buy VIP are they going to be giftable again? It feels silly to have to run-around this restriction, so I only want to make sure we aren't angering the Crowfall gods by doing this.
  48. 1 point
Gifting of all redeemable items is blocked for the duration of this sale. We'll get gifting back on on 9/1/16. Sorry for the inconvenience, there is a reason we can't have nice things.
  49. 1 point
Hm. Should I cash in all of my VIP for 15$ ea then buy the cheaper VIP which is 12months/140$? (11.6$)? Also, would it be optimal to buy a few 30$ KickStarter Forts to sell in the future? (Since the multiplication factor is by 10 and won't be available or more expensive in the future.) I've read that all these Forts are allowed to be upgrade to their 'Large' version and then trade in for the subsequent tier. Any advice?
  50. 1 point
What is the diference by the large Kickstarter Castle and the Large 2016 Castle i dont see any on the screenshots or the description? Please advice!
