  1. My first impressions of the Crowfall Big World Testing. So far I'm pretty impressed with how in-depth the crafting system is. I'm really excited to see how Big World testing evolves over the next few months. YouTube Link: https://youtu.be/OeRhGZAkszY

  4. Harvesting Use all 4 harvest potions for best results. When mining a higher metal node type gather one ore then upgrade pick (Order is Copper->Iron->Tin->Silver->Gold) Quickest Upgrade Path for tools (pad for failures): Gather 8 wood -> Craft Basic Hammer -> Gather 1 Stone -> Craft Basic Pick -> Gather 1 Iron or Tin -> Craft Rune Making Pick -> Gather 2 ore -> Craft Harvest potion -> Find Silver -> Use potion -> Harvest entire spot. You should now be ready to make full set of Silver tools and can now mine Gold to upgrade to those Crafting Do not u

  5. The first tests last week were only 35 cells. This test the map is 50% bigger so about 53 cells. A single 'Continent' is 400 cells (20 cells x 20 cells) and we have been told those can be stitched together to make a world of any size they want with no loading screens in between continents... So what we are running around now is super tiny compared to what a campaign world will be.

    Hello all

I just pledged today and hope to join the game shortly. My expectations are to find a challenging and fun pvp based game to enjoy with you all. See you in game sometime next week

  7. Big World is super buggy, but please login to help squish the bugs! There's a checklist in the testing forums. Crafting is super complex, in a wonderful way. Root motion is being removed from most (all?) basic attacks and that's awesome.

I hopped into a stream today to check out the latest progress and I see this! Why is there a pug on the back of the myrmidon?

  11. So I was watching the classic hit movie "Bring it on" starring Kirsten Dunst, and they were doing "spirit fingers" and it got me thinking a bit... What if crowfall had a spirit feather ruleset where each player started with a certain amount of feathers when they joined a campaign and each feather represented a percentage of their overall power. Upon death players could drop a feather and upon killing someone a player could loot a feather. This means players could get weaker or stronger depending how they fare in PvP encounters. The feathers could also be a tradeable currency though a

  12. In all of the videos about skill trees, JTodd and the rest of ArtCraft talk about incremental progressions of small rewards adding up over time, rather than a big *jackpot* of finishing the skill. I'm curious as to why that approach doesn't hold true for harvesting skills- many of the harvest skills- particularly plentiful harvest and beneficial harvest specifically say "no benefit gained until skill is fully trained." As someone looking into harvesting as a primary skill path, that's really demotivating. I'd like to know why devs are making that choice, rather than the same increment

Sup fellas. Technically, I already posted this in the intro thread in the gameplay forum, but I figure there's no harm in putting it up here. Anyway, I finally backed after watching for a long time. I'm glad to be here. I'm worried I may have overextended myself, between college, Crowfall, Dual Universe, and Star Citizen. But I'm sure I'll find the time at some point. There are just too many games these days, you know!? I don't want to get old and have no time for them anymore! But I digress. I'm not quite sure what I want to do yet. I'm thinking I'll either be a Forgemaster or Champio

    Serious bug on login

This forum is for web-related issues only. It's very important that playtest-related issues are reported in the Testing > Bugs forum where members of the dev team will be made aware of them more quickly.

  15. Trial and error... some folks are writing stuff about how to play but mainly trial and error. If crafting... make potions... if killing.. stab it with the pointy end?

  16. My problem with skill specialization isn't the fact you can't pick and choose everything with no prerequisite; it's that skill specialization is boring. One of the reasons why I didn't play eve was because of this system. I can see the merits of such a system (relatively easy to implement) but it's also unremarkable and it gets even more unremarkable as you progress deeper in to the skill line and "level ups" are fewer and fewer. The "excitement" and intrigue of building your character doesn't seem to be here (yet).

  18. I don't know about that but I think each time you kill a player you should be able to loot a "soul feather" from them and there should be a special soul feather inventory to document who you've killed, when you killed them etc. Or maybe this can be a specific ruleset where each player starts with 10 soul feathers and you get weaker if you lose them by dying and you get stronger the more you collect. Heck you could make them tradeable and then a whole different type of economy based on pking could evolve.

  20. Try Blindsight, by Peter Watts. It's some really hard sci-fi that should make you think (though perhaps not like a mystery would), and ought to be sufficiently creepy. It was written back in the late 90's and was based on some pretty cutting edge science, only a little of which is now obsolete. I confess that I haven't read it yet, but I am loosely familiar with the subject matter, and my friend won't stop screaming for me to read it. Best part? It's available online for free. Edit: Just finished reading it. Took me about 9-10ish hours at a moderate reading speed. Good book. Creepy as hell

  24. Was answered in another thread might have missed it but invites are done in batches. The KS backers get in first then the rest. Based on your badge you're a '15 backer so you'll have to wait till the next batch. You should be next in though as they said they'll invite the next round as they need.

  25. Great to have you on-board! Yeah the price is high, I'm also regretting not getting in sooner (although taking advantage of the trusted trader scheme might be beneficial to other late comers?) But I am questioning how long I'm actually going to spend in game, within my own EK? Probably very little, I'm more likely to head to my guild base EK, or to other larger EK hubs as and when they turn up. So I wouldn't necessarily fret a lot about missing out too much.

    Need Build Advice

Hey all. I am building myself a new computer and I am having trouble deciding on CPU, motherboard and monitor. I think I want Kaby Lake but I am not sure if it's worth waiting for. I am really excited for Cannonlake but it doesn't look like that is going to be out anytime soon. I want a good, solid motherboard that will support DDR4 but it does not have to be full of fancy tech that I will never use. I don't plan on running dual graphics cards or anything else really besides an SSD. I am going for a single GTX, probably a 1060 (maybe 1070). I like to keep my cases pretty simple. I probably won

    Lords of the Dead <NA>

Lords of the Dead has recently refocused our efforts in ArcheAge as we've adapted and evolved to the political environment that was threatening to kill the server. While we've held a castle since they were introduced into the game, the lack of value and added burden of ownership led our leadership to decide that in the best interest of focusing our members on PvP, that we should sell our castle off. LotD has returned to our pirating roots and without being weighed down by potential maintenance of a useless castle, have found our weekly schedule packed with harvesting both the packs, and t

Buncha great folks here. I've been in a ton of guilds, but this was literally the only one I didn't have any cringe worthy guild drama at some point. It's a big competitive group of people, but of all the LOTD members I've played with, none of them were tryhard unpleasant people. It's like a friendly casual/relaxed guild atmosphere with super competitive and competent players. One of my favorite things to do in MMO's myself is organize community events, and I plan to throw em on Crowfall big time. I organized the biggest community events on Wildstar most recently, and plan to do even more

  45. Though I did spy on and place spies in a lot of clans and alliances, I was 100% legit and loyal when I was in Winterblades/SB Alliance. Actually, I think the only clan I "spied" on while having my main character as a member in the clan was Awful Company, ironically enough. Though that doesn't really count as spying.
