    How to consume backer rewards

Btw. the pioneer starter pack don't include any ingame rewards you currently could use. There is only the warhorse and those are not in the tests yet. There are two kind of free deeds for testing. The [TESTING COPY]'s and the [LIVE TESTING COPY]'s. I haven't checked it, but i would guess the first can only be used on the TEST server, while the second ones can only be used on the LIVE server. The LIVE server is permanently online for beta 3 and higher, while the TEST server accesses get rolled out again with each major update (pre-alpha testers first, alpha later,...). So you may not always have access to this one. You can check your access by taking a look at the client download site. If you can see and download the TEST client, you should be able to currently use it. You do not need to consume your pack before the game launches in order to use your usable rewards. You can anyways redeem ingame IF they already exist ingame. It is possible that you don't have the entitlement to redeem anything ingame, because your pack don't contain any things that currently can be redeemed. Without this entitlement your redeem button would be greyed out. But if you do have testing or live testing copies on your account and if you are on the right server, you should be able to redeem them and something might be wrong with the system. In that case you should report this to support@crowfall.com. (I would guess that this is the problem) Some additional infos. Buildings can not be placed on the temple parcel (where you spawn). You either need a free copy, a backer reward or a self-build parcel to place a building on it. Both parcels and buildings can also be builtingame via stonemasonry. But you might have to reach a certain skill, before you can access the desired recipe. Once you have a parcel, you can place it by using the kingdom builder. Press ESC when in your kingdom and then click on the small castle icon on the left side to access it. Don't forget to save your changes once you are done. If you use a free or reward parcel which you redeemed in the lobby, you will first have to import it from your spirit bank to your EK inventory. Press B and drag it to your character inventory. After this transfer there is a 2 minute cooldown before you can use it (indicated by a small red cross). Extra tip: DON'T leave the EK before these two minutes are over and the red cross is gone, or the items may get stuck by a current bug. And welcome to the forum.

    How to consume backer rewards

Are you are on the live server or the test server? On the Live server, you should have test copies of parcels/buildings that you can use. They will be in the purchases menu. If you are on test, you may also have some test copies. If you are on the live server and can't click on the Purchases button, you may want to contact support. I don't think you need to consume the package in order to enable that button, but I could be wrong. However, before you do that, realize that there are crafting stations in the forts and keeps where you can craft advanced gear. There are also basic crafting stations in each beachhead where you can craft intermediate gear. So you don't need to place a station in your EK.

    How to consume backer rewards

Go to Account/Backer Rewards/Consumable. There should be blue boxes under the consumable column with a check mark. If you check them it will ask you if you want to consume the item.

Pre-charging soul power on Training Dummies Pre-charging soul power on Boars/Cats Pre-charging soul power on friends in FFA Pre-charging soul power on alt account in other Faction It's all silly and feels exploitive, but it's such a huge advantage to have your Ult ready (or double Ult for some classes) at the start of a fight that we feel forced to do it.

    How to consume backer rewards

Hello I reckon you don't need consuming your rewards. You should have in game menu the option "purchases" in which there are assets given as a "testing copy". You need to import almost a cottage (you can place a crafting station in there) and a suitable parcel (I used a shire percel). btw, welcome!

Best collecting race / class ?

That's three things. Harvesting is going to be more specialized than that for quite some time, simply because of the time it will take to train out one of those to maximum efficiency. We are at 10X training speed now. 1 day = 10, 18 days (time to fill a basic race tree), will be 180 days. I would pick one, and worry about that first.

@AlusiOne thing to double check is that you have downloaded the LIVE test environment, and are running CFLiveLauncher.exe If you are definitely on the LIVE server and still can't access "Purchases", send a quick email to support@crowfall.com explaining the issue. AFAIK everyone with a starter pack should have access to the [Testing Copy] items on LIVE, maybe there is an entitlement bug.

Some people will say they don't like the idea because players should do that stuff. This AI convoy doesn't prevent players from doing their own convoys to speed up or increase the supplies throughput, it just provides a baseline supply amount so something is happening while also creating more organic opportunities for PvP and interaction that doesn't require some faction leader personality to organize. I feel like leaving all the content creation and organization up to your player-base is very risky for an MMO. The AI convoys and stuff can add a feeling that the campaign worlds are sort of alive even when players are not around in large numbers. As hunger begins to consume the world, you could even make the AI monsters attack the AI convoys.
  13. 1 point
I could dig that if there was some kind of interdictable AI supply convoy that you could attack and loot, that would disrupt that supply and also give you some stuff. It would give a way for smaller groups to still participate in the strategy layer of a campaign even if they were too small to launch their own siege of an enemy fort. AI convoys would simultaneously give something for non-guilded or group people on the other team as well, they could defend the convoy, etc.

    How to consume backer rewards

There are test parcels and buildings for both the Test server and the Live server. On the Test server, I don't have any of the stuff from my backer package. All I see when I click on the Purchases button in the lobby is: [Testing Copy] Cottage [Testing Copy] Small Fort Pack [Testing Copy] Fort Lodge On the Live server, I have all of the stuff from my backer package (minus the stuff I have already moved to my spirit bank), plus a bunch of Testing Copy stuff. It sounds like the package you bought doesn't include any parcels or buildings, so the only stuff you will see on the Live server are Testing Copy. If you can see that when you click on the Purchases button, just select the ones you want and click the Import button. That will move them to your spirit bank. You can then log into your EK and move those items from your spirit bank to your inventory. Once the transfer is complete, you can then place them in your EK.

    How to consume backer rewards

Hi Kraahk, many thanks for all that info. Yes I am sorry I am not sure if its a fault or I just don't know what I am doing! My account lists as "Testing Copy" only for all the Parcels, Cottage etc etc so does that mean I have to login to test rather than live to use it? As you stated? I did not realise there were 2 currently available playable versions of the game Live and test is that correct? If so after the next patch I will try and see if I can access both clients and figure out whats going on here. Ok just checked and it does explain all that on the info client page, https://crowfall.com/en/client/ think I just wrongly assumed the test parcels etc were for live as I thought Live was the only test environment if you see what I mean! Going to wait for the next patch and then play some more, thanks! Thanks all for the help!

No thank you. Combat being wholly reliant on systems of long term buffs is a design that we've largely moved away from in MMOs not for convenience but because it places an undue emphasis on buffs that then require the rest of the game to be tailored around them. For all the good and social building that those systems did, they had a major flaw. The game's content was designed around them, and thus, if your buffs ran out in the middle of doing something and there wren't any doctors/entertainers around to refresh buffs, guess what, you're SOL and the game is now borderline unplayable. This creates a system where the buffers are incentivized to congregate in the higher population centers, which in turn leads to a spiral of monolith cities that actively discourage the population from spreading out and using other parts of the map. Not a problem in SWG, but a HUGE problem in crowfall, as players actively roaming the map is key to creating pvp incentives. I was both doctor and entertainer for a while, and it became increasingly clear that the design of those systems wasn't about incentivizing down time. It was about REQUIRING down time, and that was the problem. They were good ideas, but simply not at all fun systems for the vast majority of players. We got buffs because we had no other option, whether we wanted to or not. Similar buff/teleport systems were in shadowbane around launch until eventually they were commuted to potions and scrolls specifically so that players were incentivized to have players around with the "free" version but were not required to do so. The superior system (and the one most frequently used today) is a system of channeled buffs that incentivize grouping for all of the content rather than grouping which requires you to stop playing the content. The idea that players need to be sitting in a cantina to socialize is a relic of an age before literally every player was on voice comms and it was effectively impossible to socialize while playing the game because conversation had to be typed. That's no longer a problem. Simply incentivizing players to group together has the same effect now, and a mandatory scheduled buff system would not serve the same purpose. Not only that, the focus of Crowfall isn't to recreate the key archetypes of a universe in which those positions are necessary as a way to build a long term living world. The focus of crowfall is on war for campaign worlds, and every single system is designed to lead directly back to that central goal. Entertainment hubs and down time simply aren't a design priority in a system that assumes (and creates) every character as a fully fleshes out combat role first, and other economic aspects second, because unlike SWG, the goal is to actively discourage opting completely out of it. While it is possible someone could become a "full time" crafter, the overall design goal is that even those crafters should desire and be pushed to enter campaign worlds and compete in combat over resources, crafting stations, and other such things. Mandatory social hubs are antithetical to the PvP focus of the game, which is why the social hubs that do exist (the EKs) are entirely optional and mostly removed from the core game loop aside from their function as trophy rooms and "neutral" trade spaces. We don't need systems that encourage people to stay in town because the more people that sit around in town the less people there are in the world creating pvp content for one another. The goal of the game is to encourage people in to systems of conflict over winning campaigns, and for this reason mandatory down time in "safe" areas feels antithetical to the core thrust of the game. You do not want people to spend extended amounts of time in safe areas when the point of your game is PvP.

This is what I see from that screen, only the pioneer pack is consumable (not done yet incase I want to upgrade later) all the test stuff is unconsumable is that correct? If I cant use it why does my account list that I have it? Will try and a screen shot in here somehow. Thanks for helping

i hope they tie spirit banks to a physical location, and more tied to the start and end of worlds - as original summoning circle pitch - but i'm not holding my breath.

    How to consume backer rewards

Hi RipForFun, thanks for the help! Yeh I wondered if it was something to do with that "Purchases" menu you have on the left just after you login to the game. However for me that menu is "greyed out" and so is unclickable. Is the a fault or do I need to look elsewhere? On my account I have all these "test copy" items listed parcels and buildings of various kinds but no way to access them at present. any further help from anyone greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It actually doesn't say that. It says it grants a barrier (which means a barrier to all damage...which is true of all barriers) that also is immune to crushing. The key word is "with" in that sentence. The tool tip could be better...without a doubt. Don't worry...once you've played more you'll get the hang of it.

Also it is laughably easy to precharge on pigs or any other mob. I'm a fan of the precharge, made a whole suggestion post about it. I think the resting buff from fires should just restore soul power so its less of a chore and feels intended rather than exploitative if we're intended to gain benefit from precharging long term.
  31. 1 point
And you can bet if they remove target dummies that people will just use an alt account from another faction to pre charge on faction servers. Certain classes are dead ducks without their defensive ultimate abilities so any ideas such as soul power decay or eliminating pre charging will destroy these classes (assassin, duelist, confessor, etc.) The whole mechanic sucks quite frankly. I'd rather get cooldowns back on ultimate abilities.
