    RIP Obs LoD

Update: A custom urn for Obs has been in the works for a few months now. It will ultimately be a replica Tree of Life from Shadowbane/Crowfall. I will post pictures of it once it is completed but it's taking a while to get it designed and constructed. Seven had a coin made to honor Obs and took it into battle with him during a recent tournament.

Just a couple of ideas that I think would help, and possibly be pretty easy to implement. One, is for Sacrifice System XP. If you are sacrificing something that puts you over the level limit, I think the excess points should be applied to the next level. It would be nice not to waste points in the sacrifice system. Two, could higher ranked mobs be worth more XP? I have only killed up to rank 3 or 4 mobs, but so far they seem to be worth 50xp. Maybe those do increase in higher mobs I am not aware, but it seems higher risk(harder to kill mobs) should be worth a little more XP. Three, items you place on your Survival tray should show the quantity where available, like apples, food and bandages. None of these are revolutionary and I think(not being a programmer) they would be pretty easy to implement? I love the progress in 5.6 and am excited for 5.7. Keep up the great work, ACE!

    Leather vs Plate

Currently in the game the trade off between leather/mail/plate is almost non existent. With all the mitigation being on the chest piece, I can currently get the entire benefit of mail/plate while sacrificing only 2.5/5% healing/damage modifier and one/two discipline slots. I was under the impression the health values on plate armor would be inherently higher, but I haven't seen that in game. Is there any other benefits to lower armor types besides the ones described above?

    Leather vs Plate

Leatherworker is not as skilled. But raw hit points on chests are all based on randomness. The smalls get boosts. I think it is +750 hp's for plate smalls. +500hp's for Chain smalls and ?? maybe +250 for leathers. Best of three combines for the sub combines. 7 pip amazing on the final combine with 50% bonus. second 50% roll failed.

    MEET THE KOBOLD!

I still hope after release they can put in Aracroix, Shade and Nephilim from SB. I don't know if those would involve copyright issues. SB had the best diversity for races of the games I have played.

    MMO or not ??

What @Arkade said. Usually prior to a 1st octet release you see a dip in population. When 5.6 rolls out on live you will see a spike.

    Protecting the Sheep!

This is a group PvP game. Don't be a sheep. Be part of a pack. You can still do sheep things, but be smart about it.

    Protecting the Sheep!

This is a bad idea because: The less you are punished for having no friends, the less incentive you have to make friends. The entire point of the game is to leverage violence as a primary measure of control, and every game system from the bottom up is built around this axiom. If you want something and it is dangerous, it is meant to be so. You would be punishing players for playing the game correctly for no good reason. The entire purpose of player harvesting in Crowfall is as a driver for ganking, and the entire class and harvesting system is built around every harvester having a fighting chance. You are not meant to be rewarded for doing something stupid, like harvesting without wearing anything. Wolves aren't meant to hunt wolves. Wolves are meant to hunt sheep and accidentally run in to other wolves while doing so. The things the sheep collect give context and meaning to PvP, as two groups of wolves aren't carrying anything of value, and thus there is nothing meaningful to fight over.

    MEET THE KOBOLD!

I wouldn't want it to look like that... but yeah... we need a "Green Skin". From Shadownbane "Grobold", which was their take. It would be a "small race". but it would be an alt to rats. Think "Goblin" and less "lizard"... though SB's "Lizard Men" would be cool as well.

This issue has been brought up before. Website uses your email. But the client software uses your username. I dont know why. As a former security researcher with a MS in CS, I can say fairly difinitively that since the dawn of (username:password) authentication, username has never been considered to be a secret. In the unix world, login names are used in log files, for home directories, output by the old 'finger' command, etc. Many websites use your login name as your public username. Relying on login name to be secret or obscure will give a false sense of security where no real security actually exists. No software that I know of handles usernames with the same reverence and care as it handles passwords... and there are plenty of points of attack that would work to reveal a username that have been locked down when it comes to passwords. There are ways to suss out your email address too, so dont think that using your email address to login is somehow more secure. What is orders of magnitude more secure is adding more characters to your password. Each character multiplies the search space significantly. Do not use the same password that you use somewhere else - either get a reliable password manager (e.g. Bitwarden) or use a mental scheme for constructing a password based on the domain name. And if you actually care about your account, use 2FA -- yes it is less convenient, but not so inconvienent as losing your account.

Our general philosophy going forward is, if it uses a key, we will let the player bind it to what they want, and notification hotkeys are no exception. We have a lot in store for the upcoming social system, and we're working hard to ensure that the features MMO players have come to expect will be a part of that. One of those things is giving the player full control over what appears in their chat. Additionally, we have a goal in giving much greater flexibility to the players in how they interact with others, as well as providing better feedback for when a player wants to interact with you. We'll be announcing more as it comes online, but I'm pretty excited to be working on these features, and hopefully you folks are excited too!

    World is empty on purpose?

    World is empty on purpose?

Hello and welcome to Crowfall. When you say the world is empty, I assume you are referring to a low player population - this is largely due to the fact that there is soon to be a full wipe, so many people are choosing not to play. At some times of day on some servers however you can still find between 15 and 20 people online. Crafting stations are located in the Forts or the Keep, and usable to you if your faction owns them. You can also make your own crafting stations and place them in your eternal kingdom. Many items, such as the Intermediate Armor, do require Ethereal Dust, but it is not as hard to come by as it first seems. There are things you can do to increase the amount of dust that drops - I have a video guide on doing that which you can find here: Even if populations are low, this is a great time to learn as much about the game as you can. Very soon a new build version will go online and there will be a full reset of skills and character data, which includes the Spirit Bank. I recommend you gets as much experience as possible right now so that you can make good decisions and get the most out of this fresh start that is coming up. Welcome to Crowfall once again, and good luck!

    Leather vs Plate

Ratio of your experiment change a lot, while you craft leather armor, your success in increasing stats depends on the skill you've learned and your leatherworking stats, but if you add your experiment point and get success in damage they'll have a greater ratio of increasng than health, whereas for plate, there is a better ratio on defense. Don't forget to add great stats additive to your recipes while craft to increase more the stats, in defense or attack.

    Get Rid of 50% Bonus

It would have to be sound mathematically. If the odds of pulling an amazing success is 50% less for each pip, then the bonus for the outcome should be marginal, or it once again becomes the ONLY real choice, Also consider the other advantage to going all in, lower build times. Not really a big deal now, but when they start to apply "real" time to that, it skews it even more. I would almost rather they reverse the entire "risk" paradigm. Risk = Number of chances taken total, not all at once. If you go all in at once it's less risk, and no bonus. For each successful individual pip you roll, you get a cumulative bonus for not screwing up the previous steps. Sort of a "Press your Luck" type of game. "Big bucks, no whammies" Highly skilled crafters could roll the same pip position multiple times, to try to get a better roll for that position, which also increases the risk factor that you will screw up somewhere along the way. So a two pip item could see a master crafter try to roll the first pip 6 times before moving onto the second. Do I take the great success and move on, or risk what I have built on a critical failure? That model would be far more mathematically sound than the current "All in", go for broke every time nonsense.

    Get Rid of 50% Bonus

I was just talking about this with @Phylor.the.Jester if feels like an unnecessary RNG added to an already clouded RNG roll? What master craftsman YOLO's something instead of taking the time and effort to make it amazing?

    MEET THE KOBOLD!

Daoc is Dark Age of Camelot, probably the best ever pvp game of its time and probably still is but EA bought it out and it went downhill from there. It was the original rvr game (3 realm combat) which Guild Wars 2 and Eso based its pvp off and now CF. I think its been running for just over 15 years. Kobolds were a race for the Midguard realm (vikings), its the only mmo ive ever seen them in as a playable race and ive played alot of mmo's.

    Protecting the Sheep!

So people will probably hate this idea, but as a sheep I like it. I heard about it from another game and kind of liked the idea. What if there was a system in place for the player that is not really wanting to fight a group of marauding pvp wolves? What if I am new to the game and just want to harvest some cobblestone in peace without any gear on yet? I suggest that if you dont react and engage to fight the players attacking you then they can still kill you but they receive like an infamous point. These infamous points can build up and have a small penalty to durability on their equipment when they die. I just liked the idea to help protect the sheep a little more and have the pvp players hunting the other wolves more. Please let me know why this is not a good idea, or why you thing this is a good addition to the game.

    Leather vs Plate

I guess what I am trying to say is if your a tank and your focused on getting yourself between your team and the hard hitters to block the damage more than dealing it how useful is doing more damage and having bonus healing if your blocking as much as possible and charging around the field and chain pulling people off of your group while a healer heals?

    Leather vs Plate

Well in the case of the knight isn’t it based on health for how much they heal once they drop to 20%? I am talking about those playing as meat shields since right now most builds are based on none group play from what I am hearing. Isn’t the knights block for those behind him as well? i mean more health for blocking while a healer heals you. Does the healing bonus apply to heals received from other players from leather?
