Can we please keep to talking about zone caps? Guild politics is not what the forum is meant for, and the numbers for who dont matter, and the faction spying doesnt matter in this thread. It is ridiculous that the best way to win a siege is to afk as many people as you can in zone prior to siege to make sure enemy has least possible. Please consider slowly upping it and tracking performance as you do? Can we get 150? @jtoddcoleman@thomasblair

People have been making this argument since the pre-mades in Hunger Dome. Guild vs. guild is precisely the environment we need to test, no matter how much it might suck to get trampled by a Winterblades siege team today or crushed by a Sugoi elite five man back in the Dome. We can test crafting or combat powers all day, but the most vital feedback the developers will ever receive is how the *actual* game will function from an overhead view (and if it's doing so as intended). The live game will be about guilds (and alliances) murdering each other to win campaigns within the confines of the campaign world rules. If we've discovered that the current system is *really* so broken that a couple guilds can ruin the whole thing, I'd say the test environment is working exactly as intended.

Really frustrated by the zone caps. Couldn't defend my home keep because the zone was full more than half an hour before siege time.

These things are "in-the works" and have been for a while... adjustments come each pass in increments. Pieces of the puzzle get filled in and all in their own time; what you may see as priority could be way down on the real QA list. If you had been around for the last 3 years you would have a better feel for how long it takes for changes to pass through the engineers and QA internal testing before being added to a patch. If you don't want to be a part of testing which includes living with broken stuff, then yes, quit testing and come back for the complete game in Beta/launch. YOU have free will, I promise /god.

Compared to the other classes I've tested I'd give the three talent promotions of druid an "OK" rating, which is pretty high comparatively but still not good or great. There are several classes where there is only one really usable promotion branch but at the very least we have three usable if somewhat lacking choices. Stormcaller: good dps. depending on race and discipline choice you have a fair to good level of survivability despite being in leather. efficiency is less than ideal, and this goes across all three promotions, all of the offensive abilities are very slightly higher resource cost than than I feel they should be. Archdruid: dps and healing seem a little low, but not so bad that it would warrant a major change. great survivability, a lot of tools to keep yourself alive if played well. missing choices for offensive and healing abilities in the base kit. the blight bomb is good, but with our capstone passive requiring a number of orbs to hit before we do decent damage or healing it's way behind other classes in capability. as with the Stormcaller above I feel the offensive abilities are high enough in resource cost that it just doesn't "feel good" with the constant need to swap trays. the quick burn passive helps but that essence gets chewed through a bit too fast even with efficiency discs slotted. Earthkeeper: great healing ability, the change to bonus healing from orbs was completely necessary imo as they were absurdly good before and now feel right about where they should be. great survivability, less mobile racial choices reduce this significantly though (half elf). poor damage potential, while these seems like a invalid complaint on a healing spec the truth of the matter is someone who JUST wants to play an earthkeeper druid is all but helpless outside of a group. if I severely outgeared an opponent I could heal through all their damage for an extended time, but there was no chance of me ever killing them unless I ulted them off of a cliff. Overall the thing I always like about the druid class was the ability to play as a hybrid heal / dps. I do appreciate that others may prefer one way or the other as their primary play style, but the core design always felt like flexibility was the name of the game. Splitting the class into these three promotions has in my opinion diluted too much of that hybrid game play that I always loved before and I really miss a lot of the choices the core kit used to have. I'd like to see blight be a baseline ability for all three lines. It would make the stormcaller more impactful on the battlefield, archdruid already has talents to buff it enough that the other promotions having access wouldn't feel like a slight, and it would provide earthkeeper with a means to actually defend themselves in a fight if needed. The other main "missing link" to the old druid playstyle that I really miss is not having access to lightning burst on the archdruid. I can live without it, but with the shroud combo being the only thing worth using outside of blight bombs and basics the only way to get any sort of offensive abilities is through discs. Maybe if gaia's wail was less quirky it would make up for the lack of lightning burst but in it's current state it's almost useless. Anyway this post is waaay late to the party since 5.8 has been live for quite some time now, but I wanted to hear what others thought of the state of druid play since the talent split. đź‘Ť

Nah, looks like the other nodes have more disbursement in quality than the graves. So with a rank 8 copper you have a chance to get more greens with a smattering of blues and an even lower chance of purples. Rank 8 graves have blues tied to them with no greens. That seems to also change slightly depending on the skills and such, so the looting of it feels a lot different from graves. Does that make sense?

I have the same problem while skinning. Often, in between successful hits the knife goes through the motions, but there's no damage to the node and no pips added. Nothing changed, nothing moved, it just randomly fails.

Confessors have been nerfed out of existence. No one played the leather variants because they are in leather and the plate variant just got hit too hard in 5.8.3/4 to be played. In addition to the obvious nerf of the righteous shield cool down increase they also had elementalist introduced an extremely popular rune which hard counters them, fall damage was gutted (thankfully) and they lost firebox as part of their kit due to weapon mastery's being deprecated. The Sanctifier was certainly strong at the start of 5.8.3 and needed some tuning but all these things together have made the class unplayable. There were maybe 3 or 4 in a zone capped siege and all of the people playing them were probably new and didn't know how bad they are right now. Please look into some small buffs to Sanctifier to get it back into the meta and as always please nerf the abomination that is the unreasonably tanky pitfighter.

There is no animosity toward any member of your guild due to their "leaving" Winterblades. There is certainly some bad blood as a result of the actions and statements of your guild members since those same ex-Winterblades joined your ranks. While that bad blood has caused way too much drama on these boards for my taste...they do lead to some good fights from time to time... and isnt that what this game is all about?

That doesn't make your invented number any more accurate. The extra balance brought us to about 80 in /faction who tonight. Do these numbers even matter? Why did dolmar feel it was important to create a fiction about balance having considerably more numbers when there are actually other reasons for the apparent imbalance?

Totally understand. I'm going to look into a bit more to get a better feel for the loot with graves and see if that's intended.
  25. 1 point
So every other node gets purps at r8 but not graves?
  26. 1 point
Ahhh, looks like the purples don't get dispersed into the graves until rank 9-10. I can do some more digging but I think blues seem to be the primary drops on ranks 5-8.

This has been reported and not fixed so ill report this again... The trait Warrior of Vengeance for Vindicator Templar does not provide any bonuses and is actually a detriment if you put a point in. As shown above a Vindicator Templar with no armor can get to 38% slashing bonus damage, a stat that caps at 40%. Why on earth would anyone want to put a point into this if all i get is 2% damage bonus, something that you can just get on armor? You lose that massive health increase buff that comes with holy warrior for nothing in return. It sounds really good but its a useless part of the trait tree. Please have it increase Slashing bonus damage cap by 30% and give 30% bonus or replace this node entirely. It serves only to trap new players with the allure of more damage but in reality hurts them overall. @mhalashace [Edit to add this other thing I forgot] The passive Fiery Devotion adds 15% fire damage bonus (which is also slashing bonus with vindi cap stone) while devotion is active. Gearless you dont even get that full bonus either given you are at 28% fire damage bonus already with a cap of 40. Just throwing this one out there because with full buffs up and no caps an ungeared Vindicator could get 83% slashing damage bonus [38 base + 30 Holy warrior + 15 Devotion] but it is capped at 40.

I can appreciate your resolve and your strategy. but it's not a full game yet and ACE's development doesn't keep up with the "new and shiny" fast enough for the average solo person buying a package to be interested with this mess. It's like ACE is building a playground, but half of the equipment doesn't work. Of the working equipment though, there's enough for everyone to basically have an OK time, but then HoA and Winterblades come in and start kicking toddlers off the swings and locking down the playground because "we play to win". We get it, but now there's no one testing the see-saw because you have a 5th grader standing guard over it and charging admission.

I didn’t even bother coming home and logging in to the siege when I heard there was was que to get in. This definitely impacts the disorganized smaller guilds who think they can login closer to the bane. We suspected there would be numbers over the cap so we ensured people would be on and ready before the fights started. That’s a bad way to have to play and an even worse way to have to defend. I also agree that /who is bad. It was bad in SB and it’s bad here. @veeshan question for you. Who’s responsible for chaos’s gear and why does balance have a gear advantage? Not trying to spin, just trying to get an honest answer about what you think has caused those two dynamics of the current test cycle.

Agreed. A per faction cap might be a step in the right direction. There will still be issues, though, because honestly chaos needs to outnumber balance right now to win.

Putting the recipes on Artisan crafting minor rune... okay, whatever. BUT removing them from their proper disciplines is hogwash. Leatherworkers can't make stitched leather, woodworkers can't make parchment paper, and blacksmiths can't make fuel. Why are you deliberating trying to make crafters' gameplay less enjoyable and more tedious? Quivers still aren't contributing to bow damage on any of my rangers. Resource density is much better this CW. When entering the CW on any of my characters, the disciplines in the exploration discipline slots are deleted.

    Ruining campaigns

Hmmm...”individual skill” vs “time investment and group organization.” That’s an interesting debate. If “individual skill” simply means “twitch reflexes” in the Fortnight or FPS sense...then yes, there is a lot more to CF then just that. However, I fully believe that “skill” includes good character development, group composition, preparation and group coordination. Leadership in an MMO is important. Group tactics are important. Preparation, ie getting your group properly geared and properly speced to work together is imprtant. Practice...working together as a group or group of groups...is important. That’s one of the beautiful things about this game that separates it from the rest of the pvp games on the market....the outcome of the battle is influenced by a number of skills...not just who can fire off their powers the fastest or who can get on target the quickest (although both are also factors). To truly be successful at this game you must master it all. Logistics, leadership, character development, equipment crafting, vessel crafting, harvesting, troop movement, politics...talk abut reaquired “skill”...I dare say no other game I’ve seen has such a high bar.
