fae will occasionally lose the ability to double jump, glide, dodge, retaliate or block on knight, fae arch druids balls also go randomly around the map and are nowhere near where placed, warcamp mobs also use gap closers while right in front of you and launch themselves far away then proceed to use their 1 ranged ability instead of coming back to melee, also FIX DIZZY examples of the warcamp mobs being pita's

I'm fine with only 1 news article every week, but its been 1 month since we actually got news about the game. The last article that actually talked about something new was "Item rewards and you",which was posted on June 11th ,exactly 1 month ago.I understand that you are working on stuff and can't share a lot but 1 month without anything new?Is this because you haven't managed to make anything in 1 month?of course not but that's what it shows. This also comes in a time where the comunity is losing trust, the last couple of months have burnt out a lot of players.

Ground targeted AoE spells should not be locking onto players or NPCs, seems like half the time I'm using one someone will walk in front of me and it lands directly at my feet instead of where I was aiming. It's supposed to be ground targeted so let me target the ground.

What exactly is a guild and how do I become part of one? Or, how do I make friends and allies on crowfall? It's just a little lonely playing by myself and I'd love to play with some people! Are there any good discord chats?

How about the overwhelmingly bad feedback about the dizzy effect?
  12. 1 point
Most everyone has pointed out the bugs I've seen so far so I won't repeat, but dizzy is something I'd like to stress that you either remove the effect of or change. It makes me sick every time it activates, and with as many time as dizzy can be inflicted during a pvp fight or how easy it is to get when falling, all I got for you is eugh. Please change it.

Well me personally.. I like to get a nice big butt and brine it for about 2 to 3 days in a nice cold salt sugar brine.. throw it on my smoker at a nice low heat and keep it fairly simple.. usually mesquite. leave it for a few hours slow smoking and adding wood as I feel necessary. When I get the smoke ring in there I feel is appropriate I like to bring that temp on up and finish it off. Pull it off the smoker and pull any fat thats left off of it. Then pull it all apart serve on a nice bakery bun with a super special pineapple habanero sauce that I discovered that works great with my pig. Thats my fav way to do mine, but I am always experimenting.

Top 10 1) Finish Frostweaver (I know this was recently mentioned) Nothing will get more people will come back and give Crowfall another try than releasing Frostweaver. 2) Assign Discipline to specific droppers and announce a list of them and a map 3) Give XP for any and all captures and have the xp be residual for holding land.Increase Capturable XP and loot bonus as the seasons progress 4) Make all outposts become spawn points- also give out gold loot when you cap it in a lootable chest.(loot and pillage) 5) Give huge bonuses for capping entire zones and holding them 6) Put GUILD crests next to Faction crests on all capturables and give guild points for capping and holding. 7) Make cash valuable again by allowing sacrifice for xp and any level. 8 ) Make the leaderboard only recognize pvp kills and deaths. 9) Create Fence NPC's that buy from players and sell same items to players for gear and runestones 10) Pay Campaign winners with VIP Character slots/ PLUS XP badges/EK Statues or their choice of discipline runestones./ Crowns/ titles

Wolfpack Studios created their own engine, The Arcane Engine for ShadowBane. There were no "middleware" or adaptive third party engines back in 1998 (Big World, Unreal, Unity etc). IIRC, a Chinese company called Chang You purchased the rights to SB, not to ever revive or market the game, but for the sole purpose of studying the Arcane Engine's Archetecture. Unfortunately, the rough launch may have sunk the project. Three to four years after launch, once the bugs were worked out, there were "banes" with 3-400 participants at one location. It was, tab target as well of course. Even the emulators have had success with launches of 1200 people and 300 man banes. Eventually... the Arcane Engine was actually pretty good..... for it's time of course.

Your game can't handle a siege of 50-60??

Yep! Doing large scale PvP with legitimate server checks is hard. Even World of Warcraft chugs in both FPS and server performance in a lot of the big world PvP stuff. They've had 20 years of development and optimization and more money than god. It's just hard. I've seen Crowfall run pretty smooth before in larger fights but when they're adding stuff as rapidly as they are there's gonna be some hiccups.

Your game can't handle a siege of 50-60??

While Unity may play some factor in an individual’s experience performance wise, it’s more likely the main performance problems are the typical issues of action combat causing server communication problems. This is why shooters like the battlefield games typically top out around 64 players due to the network overhead, not because something can or can’t be rendered. Tab targeting is one of the systems used to decrease that communication overheard thus increasing number of players supported by a server node, which is why many MMOs use it. EVE’s combat system is similar and one of the reasons that game can support large numbers of players - to a point, it still breaks. They even introduced time dilation to push that limit a bit further out, there the server slows down the tic rate of messages so everything feels like slow motion but the interface is still usable. We also don’t know what sort of hardware is currently running the pre-alpha. If they’ve downscaled it due to less players then the relative performance difference would be difficult to detect for us, would need more info to determine. (I don’t think they did this but it’s possible explanation)

ive always said that using unity would be the biggest problem, ive never played Rust but considering most other survival games have a rough limit of 50 players per server i would imagine its the same for that? and Albion Online struggled when 50 players fighting each other at release, seems a bit of a trend with the number 50. Daoc could handle big battles inside keeps, i think the biggest i was involved in was around 200-250 players in a playable state and ive heard reports of that CU was having more than that on their tests using their own engine, why oh why didn't Ace use an engine that was proven to take the strain of big battles? unity to me is mainly used for mobile and single players games. I do however think performance has slightly improved recently but that could be a fact that there are far fewer players playing.

    Warden - thoughts?

Just to preface, this is my just my own thoughts on the Warden and its place on the battlefield. Obviously my own thoughts and experiences will differ from others. I've played as, with, and against Wardens, and as a class in general, I've found them to be more of a combat multiplier than anything else. Their ability to wear mail, and the passive Ranger talent points to physical defenses, plus their Q lifesteal ability, allow them to be more tanky than one might expect. This comes with their overall offensive power being less-than-stellar: your job as a Warden isn't to do the killing, but to stay alive, and apply buffs/debuffs so your group can. There's the anti-stealth capability of the Ranger class itself, which makes you a fine friend to overworld groups. The Aero Spin is what makes the Warden shine. Yes you have bombs that can apply a variety of debuffs, but the Aero is an AoE suppression attack. Whether in confined spaces (fort or Tree of Life room), or a dense pack of baddies on the open field, you have the tankiness and survivability to dip in, and start going to work in suppressing the baddies. Last I played, the overall cooldown of this ability was rather short, so while you can't quite spam it, it's still going to have very frequent up time. Even if the bads notice you're going in to AoE suppress, you present them with one of two choices: stay, and take the suppression; or leave the area, but in turn giving up ground. You present your enemies with two bad options, and no good ones--save for someone getting off a hard CC on you, though that's not always an option. Race wise, I think they're all pretty viable. Minotaur frontal stun immunity is quite nice in helping to counter any hard CC that might be thrown at you. Wood Elf has a nice dodge, and in areas where you have the room to maneuver as such, can be quite nice in closing, or opening, the gap. So a lot of it is more where you plan to utilize the class, I think. Between your bombs, Aero, anti-stealth, and in general self-sufficiency with the frequent Q use, you present yourself as a massive pain in the rear to your enemies, and a helpful boon to your group. While a group may not want to go terribly heavy on Wardens, even having one or two, as that force multiplier, can help make engagements and overall pressure more on your side.

First impression after ~20hours of play

I don't think the problem is so much with the crafting system, it's actually pretty neat. However the problem comes with all the restrictions and inter-dependency. If I want to make a piece of armor I need string from johnson, some leather from bobby, and so on and so forth. Those two people might need components from multiple other people so it becomes a recursive nightmare where we all end up nut cupping each other to make one piece of armor; multiply this over a full set and you'll see the problem. This problem is further compounded when you realize you have a choice between being an excellent fighter or a crafter (since fighting and crafting generally don't work well together, but picking a harvesting line and fighter do). This largely leads to people buying crafting alts and doing the crafting on them instead. It's a similar system with harvesting, except you can at least be a fighter as well as do some harvesting. This all wouldn't be so bad if there was a global market place where we can buy/sell what we wanted, or even neutral towns where we could have a local market place. I don't think that's currently in the works but it should totally be. Some UO-esque city where you can buy/sell/trade that have guards that will protect you to some degree. The majority of players want some dependency on others (this comes in the form of trading, partying up, joining a guild, conflict, territorial control), but they don't want to be tied at the hip. The real problem here is that the devs over estimated how many people really want to play JUST crafters and JUST harvesters. The majority of the player base might enjoy dabbling in one or the other but they don't necessarily want to be strapped into a decision for an indefinitely (or near permanent) amount of time. Especially in game where things change very often. The main theme of the game is conflict and conquest which will bring a certain demography of players that don't necessarily want to just hit rocks or sit by a forge all day. I mean doubling down on harvesting really makes no sense. When in the past tblair made comparisons to fortnites pve mode, I've honestly shuddered. Fortnite pve was a huge failure and it wasn't even nearly as restrictive in choices as crowfall is. I think the recent introduction on loot on mobs is a possibly good move. Giving players more alternatives and options to acquire gear is definitely the way to go. Performance, campaign and zone capacity and character progression are also big issues the game needs to sort out.

And that is why no one cares about winning. the title of this post is how to get players motivated. none of the things I mentioned give an advantage in pvp that can’t be earned in game or paid for in dollars.

Anthrage just ganked me on Live 5.2.7. I have been ganked many many times before. This one feels special though. I was on my rat. Why? because the rat is the best at getting away. With the loot I have spent much time preparing to gather. With the loot I have spent much boring time actually gathering. Please note the word boring. Gathering in Crowfall is a chore. It could be used as punishment. Add on top of that the chance that at any second you could be killed does not make the chore any better, it does not make the activity of holding F and exposing you in a pvp game any more fun. What is the first rule in any pvp game. Do not stand still. Bleh I don't feel like typing up all this poorly made socks. None of it matters. None of it will make a damn bit of difference. Gathering in Crowfall is not fun. When I do it, I feel like my time is being deliberately wasted. I feel weak, and exposed. I feel like I am wasting the guards that I have to have around me time as well. I feel like I am fighting the game, and the other players are just the tools of the devs to punish people who dare to gather. I do not like this feeling.

I`m sad, because of T. Blair crafting/harvesting in depth system which you need a master degree to get into. We are losing players left & right it was a bad idea to invite too many Star War Galaxies devs into this project. And they took off Neymar captain role for a reason with the Brazil national team in soccer.. It turn off too many players who don`t know what is going on behind the scene, and when they figure out the power curve with items is far ahead of them they will have no chance to compete in PvP and just quit the game as fast as they installed it.

Ahh memories. Most of the complaints that started this post way back when have been addressed over time. Or perhaps I have mellowed some too. Nah. Not mellowed, beaten down more than anything. When I made the post I had gotten up early. and just wanted to hit rocks for a half hour or so. So I went to the only place on the map that had rank 5 nodes. I at the time had on gathering gear. Which was useless because the potions I drank every 12 minutes capped me, but at the time noone knew that. We did not have the details page. We could only measure by results. We had a camera zoom in at the time that when you held down F to gather it zoomed you in on the node. There were no weak points to track either. And the noise it made with the Dink dink dink. was so loud you could track gatherers by it. From 500 yards away easy. There was no class/Race split I think back then. Memory is fuzzy on that. Hell I don't even think we had discs back then Certainly not the combat discs we have now + harvesting discs. We had 1x training speed not the 3 x we have now. And it was unrefined, still very raw. So much has changed. But I still think the risk of the wolves does not nearly match up to the risk of the gatherer/sheep. I do know over 2 years later that when I am serious about going out to gather I do everything in my power to mitigate that risk. I do everything I can to make sure that if/when I am jumped I get the greatest chance to keep my hard earned loot. Because I know I have almost zero chance of actually defeating the wolves. If it was a fair chance vrs a wolf then you are fighting a stupid wolf. But we need the draw of the solo gather vrs the solo wolves. We need the people out in the game world, doing things. All sorts of things, we need ambushes, and ganks and squad fights, and patrols. We need the wolves and the sheep to make the game dynamic and fun. That is the challenge for ACE. To give us the reasons to play and have fun doing so. And I still do not like even today how gathering in Crowfall makes me feel. It is needed, it is necessary, but it is really not fun with the effort and training required to get the tools that break so fast, through the choices of discs that are really very little choice involved. For ore smalls with a maxed toon. I use Miner and Lookout. With all bene harvest chance made gear. The nerfs to bene harvest duration and power and chance stripped out much of the fun of trying other things at end game gathering. I wish it had more of an impact when I harvested. I wish it was more fun. I miss the days before when I had the freedom to make a few different sets of mismatched gear to tune down to the exact stuff needed to make a GREAT harvester. I really miss the epic ore doober moneyshots of the early game with the +10 Crit amount potion when people could see what popped and would freak out. If I could change harvesting here is what I would do. Harvest on enemy controlled lands would be worth x2 points to the scoreboards. Harvest on contested lands would be worth x1.5 points. Harvest on your guild/faction controlled lands would be worth 1x points. More varied more powerful gear, coupled with training so that you can "build" on your skills like a combat spec. Bene harvest effects should last longer. When duration was bugged and capped at 3 minutes it was quite a bit more fun. Also that made skinning MUCH more palatable. Action harvesting buffs would affect your group. Making different people do different roles would make that interesting. Loot would come from multi bucket stats of the different people in your group. Not the person with the most damage to the node. Making people in a gathering group all have useful trainings. Hitting weak points would have an effect on the node destruction table. Each one hit would add to crit chance and crit amount. Making that minigame really add some excitement back into the actions you do. (not subject to player stat cap as well. Hit 5 weak points on a single node gets you a sploosh of doobers.) Give me an ability to hide some of my loot. Stashes with a treasure map. Locked chests buried in a hillside, advanced chest/storage/bag that only shows half the loot to be looted. (50% of that bags loot is shown when you are killed. Mats only.)
