    Alliance Scoring

Since the 7.200 Release, there has been some confusion as to the scoring changes for Alliances that were introduced. While in an Alliance, the Conquest score of subguilds in the Alliance are combined with the Leader of the Alliance to determine the Scoreboard and eventual winners of the campaign. With this: If an Alliance sub-guild leaves an Alliance, the Conquest points they've accumulated are removed from the Alliance leader. If that guild were to join a different Alliance, the Conquest points would be added to the other Alliance. Otherwise, they would remain with that guild. Conquest rewards are only given to the Guild Leader / Officers of the Alliance Leader. Divine Favor Rewards are given to individual guilds and participants as normal. The intent is that an Alliance can be competitive in Conquest scoring with larger guilds and receive equivalent rewards overall. In this system, subguilds being eligible for Conquest rewards would have resulted in the Alliance receiving more rewards overall than if a single guild had won them.

  2. Everyone's thinking it...New World allows my guild to capture a city/fort, siege another fort, do instanced PvP as well as open world PvP, tax the people using the local auction house and crafting tables, and there are people to fight. Not to mention the dungeons and world events, a crafting UI that doesn't feel like a puzzle to figure out, a UI in general, an amazing chat system LOL, a housing system that doesn't cost hundreds of real dollars to use and once you do use it, it doesn't glow and look like schit......phuck I could probably keep going. @mushufasa get over it. I liked Crowfall a lot, but I get the overwhelming feeling that Artcraft gave up on the game before I, and you, have (where's Hungerdome? Oh yeah, they are working on a "new game"). And when you don't have confidence in the development team and you're constantly running into shills who try to strike down legitimate suggestions (I'm looking at everyone who denied this game needed a functional chat system), then you just gotta let go dude. I know you won't, but you trying to defend the game on the forums only paints you as a shill and pushes people away faster. I would love to see how many people gave up on this game faster than they normally would have, if it didn't have a community of neckbeard shills shutting down everyone who posts a suggestion.

  3. Hes not leaving the game, he is suggesting we make them own up to their promises until they pull their heads out of the sand. The scoreboard system is garbage. Its not fun and its taken too seriously by the largest guilds with 20 year old rivalries. If the devs said forget these old farts that theyve listened to all these years and just made the game a: PVP TERRITORY CONQUEST WAR SIMULATOR OF FUN rather than a scoreboard manipulator simulator that people take too seriously and is mostly work with no play..... People would enjoy the game and support it. But no, cant have fun. Must take the scoreboard seriously so as to not upset the large old rivalry guilds. Who cares if the majority of the playerbase quit......lets just keep catering to the poorly made dergsty design favored by the large old boomer guilds and forget about providing fun for everyone else. People who bought it wont return until they change the game so that its fun and say forget the old fart feudal serf guilds, their way clearly is not what works. The steam launch needs bigger changes than just free to grind.

  4. It was much the same as crowfall, with the majority of what you needed to make to reach GM being throw away stuff. It was a pure grind and sink/disposal of resources in exchange for skill. You point out a couple glaring differences right there in your screenshot. - Anyone and everyone in UO can get the resources to to get from newb to cap. Iron Ingot. Period. In UO, you don't have to go brave a sea of unpleasant people to get the resources you need to do your task. And, ANY player of any level can get the resources needed to make GM gear. - In UO, you need blacksmithing and mining. You smack rocks. You bash an anvil. You don't have to get skill A to get Tool X so that you can raise the cash to buy Belt 1 to upgrade to Tool Y to unlock Skill B to get the Tier 4 items to make Tool Z and Belts 2 and 3. - In UO, you aren't doing pointless busy work creating four levels of crap (ex: nails, frames) to paste them all together, one tier at a time, at four different vendors/workstations. In UO, someone blasts to the guild "our smith is trying to GM a skill. bring him ingots and he'll make you stuff" and that GM sits in one spot with his Mr Coffee and a pack of smokes, while anyone of any level in the guild can contribute to his mastery of the skill. All of Sini's points stand correct. UO wasn't perfect, but Crowfall's system is nothing but grind and busywork. Worse, it's GATED grind and busywork.

  5. Hello, So, I've been VIP since release, and I intend to remain VIP to support the game. I believe in the Throne War vision of Crowfall, and more importantly I think the game has something unique in the Campaigns. However, outside of the Throne Wars and the Campaigns, you need to give people are reason to give a poorly made dergs about logging in for the night. The expected gaming cycle of Crowfall from what I see is to start a Campaign, all excited and eager, discover the new map and opportunities, and then start the first fights and attacks. Then the Farming begins, pushing further those who are in the grind for Discs and Toolbets. Then the Throne Wars go full force, with people eyeing the scoreboard constantly! Once that's over, the winner wins, and everyone, exhausted from the grind and battles, take a break from the game until the next campaign that will pique their interest. That's all fine and dandy, but there is one problem. What's with the casual player that doesn't eye the scoreboard constantly or doesn't have the time to grind? You need to give a reason to give those players to again, give a poorly made dergs about logging for the night. And the reason they don't, is that unlike many games out there, the game is lacking two important things, TREASURES and TOYS! Treasures are needed to give a reason for people to expect something out of playing for the night. However, what the game consider as Treasures are not Treasures, they are Commodities. They have nothing unique, they can be obtained from just grinding, and more importantly, they are not exciting (and that in no fault because of the obtuse crafting system and the tier system). As for Toys, those are needed for a simple reason. To give a reason for people to give a custard about each others. Something like Noggenfogger in WoW is a good example, something like Fireworks in EVE Online is also a good example. Pretty much, ways for people to interact with each others outside of combat, and more importantly, to show off in a non-combat way. If you do not have Toys, you do not really have an MMO, you have an Open-World Battleground. That Crowfall does not have those two crucial elements is dangerous! It means that right now, only those who care about the Throne grind will care about staying in the game, and those are bound to be exhausted and take a break from the Campaign system. I would suggest adding special types of gears that would drop from the wilderness, that would have very low durability but would have extra stats and effects. I would also suggest some special crafting components that would be used with easier crafting formulas, and that would allow for some easy crafting with useful rewards, Cooking would be a good avenue for that! And finally, I'd suggest some VIP-only Toys and Trinkets that would be offered each month to VIP players. Make them able to drop, so that non-VIP players can eventually get their hands on them! Here, I hope that feedback won't be wasted, Godspeed and I really hope the game succeeds!

  6. OP is actually 100% right, Ultima online is like what 25 years old now, people have been paying every month and refreshing their houses because it is full of toys, trinkets, and history of your conquests. All of those things that have no combat value have something else, they have sentiment. There is no sentiment in the Crowfall, 1 bad night of losing and getting ganked and there is absolutely no reason to play again. But in ultima no matter how mad people get it retains people because of the deco, the clothing, the rare drops etc.

    Alliance Scoring

Based on "Conquest rewards are only given to the Guild Leader / Officers of the Alliance Leader.", I believe for conquest rewards, the answer is no. The ambiguous thing now is how top 20% is calculated.

  9. Well, if you actually read what I say, this is what I am saying. What's the point, outside of the scoreboard, to go and pillage or attack someone else? To take their stuffs. What are you gonna take? More gold, don't you have enough gold already? I'd say they should unique things to the game that would be both fun to have and fun to take. There is something really wrong with your pfp...

  10. Wrong, the game needs to supply fun for player retainment. Modeling treasures and toys is expensive development that they cant afford after this blunder of a soft launch. We need to do away with the scoreboard and make the game about conquest, fun and glory. People should log in to have fun. Not log in like theyre clocking in to a second job to earn a paycheck. We want fun! Make the game less serious.

    Where did everyone go?

And....... What are the scoreboard rewards for winning in new world? There are none. Your reward in that game is fun and glory. Crowfall needs to be about fun .. not a serious work scoreboard grind. Change the blasted game! Its not expensive to do! New world has almost a million concurrent players....go figure!

  14. "You can still log in and go do stuff if you own the game, but they can't even get the scoreboard to work in shadows or dregs for 4 straight campaigns i am done being naïve about the situation, I'm dead serious 4 dregs with the alliance scoreboard still not understood or functioning like any normal who can do basic math, the shizzle FRYS MY BRAIN because I know I just did X activity that scores X on board, THAT NEVER HAPPENS UNLESS ITS A KILLING BLOW they got that one working right. The Bank Space was nice and i am a hoarder but the more i play the more i realize that only a select few are worth holding inventory for, Discipline's, few mounts' Pack items from store, Rare one off VIP item. Everything else has no real matter and can be obtained day 1 dregs start Guilds now are scoring for the main alliance yet rewards are locked to officers from top down from the main tag and no longer our guild work (This 100% will backfire at end of dregs) I haven't seen patch notes in 4 months with any actual fixes to the game, but I have seen updates with direct nerfs to everything I would of felt semi better with a Q&A hearing the devs saying hey guys we are directly working on X X X X for this time and will get it rolled out but it's only the 11th of the month and they cut communications off with no timeframe to pick that back up either" Edited for clarity I am crazy and hit the sub button again because i am a dumbazz

  18. The animals at corrupted field and avian cliffs hotzone still drop the wrong hide on the last pop. For example at corrupted field the wolves will drop strong hide on the first 3 pops when harvesting. This is the correct hide and is boosted by the hotzone when active. The last hide pop drops flexible hide, this is the wrong type, and is NOT boosted by the hotzone. The same issue is present at the Avian cliffs hotzone but with different hide types. This issue has been present since the corrupted field and avian cliffs since they were introduced.

  19. I (and others) feel as though the current Fort and Keep windows are running too late again. Perhaps if there were more Forts available per window (to force splitting large zerg forces), consolidated into two back-to-back fort windows of 45 minutes, 30 minute breather, and then a Keep window hour (as it arises) to finish the night. These should begin at 5pm local time, imo, so that the potential siege window hits at 7pm local time. Right now the windows can be grueling and leave little room for gathering and licking wounds afterwards since it's 3 hours of long riding PvP over multiple zones with NA East going from Forts, to Siege, to Forts from 9pm-12pm EST, NA West times therefore are reaching way too late for the majority of the population to begin (or enjoy playing) the cycle all over again.

  21. The rewards will be reduced then relative to an alternate strategy of breaking up the alliance at the end of the season to maximize rewards. It seems like a poor mechanic. This is quite the departure from the previous season, and even not immediately obvious from the patch notes. The wording for the patch notes were always ambiguous though. It isn't clear if it is intended on how this is handled. The sub-guilds don't have a placement on the wider board, and the entire alliance is grouped for the placing. So my first impression is that the percentiles then will also be quite broken. I expected that the sub-guilds would still be existing on the wider leaderboard, with their own score, but marked as allied under a banner. This way percentiles make sense, and rewards make sense for subguilds. If the subguilds truly are expected to be zeroed, and not counted, then alliance scoring results in a system where you are essentially just merged to the head guild. This actually reduces rewards overall across the entire server, due to how the percentiles work. Which actually reduces the incentive to be a small guild in an alliance, since now your total rewards for the same group of guilds is less than how it was structured before. This will also result in some min-max reward shenanigans at the end of the season. It also completely changes the scoring strategy throughout the season depending on the implementation. So it is important to get clarity on this now. Here are some pros/cons on this system if the assumptions are correct on how it is working now: Benefits to not being allied officially (but just agreeing to be friendly): 1) You get to keep your points and rewards, likely maximizing rewards 2) Number of eligible guilds grow, making it easier to make top 20% Benefits of being officially allied: 1) Shared Keep access 2) No friendly fire in attacks/defences You also have the weird situation that you might not be able to predict your rewards and percentiles, due to potential alliance break ups to maximize rewards. It's a real headache. In what appears to be the current implementation (sub-guilds are essentially merged into the head guild), let's say that your alliance is about to become 4th place at the end of the season. Let's say this just makes it so that you have made the top 20% scoring reward. Well, the correct play will be to break up the alliance until it still just makes the top 20%, but have the kicked guilds collect in their respective percentiles, since the top 40%, 60% and 80% rewards are still non-zero, therefore you are maximizing your rewards. My suggestion: Make it so that sub-guilds still score with their own score on the leaderboard. Let them collect the rewards. The head guild just receives their points as a bonus. This should be made explicit. This suggestion should resolve the above issues with alliance break-up shenanigans, but also incentives for the small guilds to actually ally up. Only positives to being in an alliance as a small guild, no negatives. I don't see the double counting of conquest points as being an issue, treat it like an alliance bonus rather than bulk alliance scoring. The percentile problems also are going to persist. Since the actual number of guilds in the board affects all conquest scoring rewards. Please refer to this suggestion to fix that as well:

  23. With 7.2 comes changes to the NPE....why? The new player experience just showcases the middle and end game experiences....The majority of people who bought the game quit after experiencing the middle and end gameplay experiences. Why on earth are you wasting development time and resources on a new player experience when you lost so many players who made it past the NPE and were wholly unsatisfied with the core design of the game? New players are not what you should be focusing on. You should be using your time and efforts to bring back the majority of customers who already bought the game but refuse to play because the core gameplay design is a boring, unfair slog of grindwork that rarely involves skilled, thrilling action. Look at all the reviews of this game and believe them. Stop wasting time on the npe and change the blasted game! Or give me a refund because this random scattered capture, non-territory based, score board watching, zone parking filler grindfest where stats cant be beat by skill or talent and strategy ultimately boils down to nameplate blob zergs of short windowed battleground instances owned by uncle bob is not the pvp throne war originally advertised when I backed it. 🎯🏌️🙄

  25. The alliance scoring is a bit confusing. So do the sub-guilds get rewards for their points? The scoreboard implies that they don't and only the head guild will get the rewards, and the sub-guilds get zero points? Does it count against the percentiles as well?

  26. What other game has finally put the appropriate emphasis on player made gear? Crafting in almost EVERY other MMO is trash compared to raid/dungeon drops. If most players are willing to grind a raid over and over and over again to get one piece of gear, why is anyone bitching about this crafting system? Go jump in a 40-man raid and stop crying about a crafting system that requires a bit more effort.

  27. Sad but true. Unfortunately its plays out like this: Guilded toon ("GT") maxes out everything. Solo/small guild players ("Prey") struggle to get to lvl 32/33 and have very poor gear, but some suckers (namely me) keep trying and get ganked repeatedly while trying to farm mats so I can try to make poorly made dergse gear in a broken crafting system. GT: "Devs, there's no one for me to kill, the maps are too large - force everyone into a smaller space so I can pvp." Prey: "Please don't. It's hard enough as it is." Devs: "Welcome to 7.2. Sorry Prey, you're never going to catch up now". Prey thinks- I wonder what's happening with <insert other game here>, and quits. GT: "Devs, there's no one for me to kill, the maps are still too large - force everyone into a smaller space so I can pvp." Cycle repeats until even the most stubborn Prey give up. GT thinks - game's dead, I wonder what's happening with <insert game here> and quits.

  30. I wanted Crowfall to succeed and though it was going in the right direction at inception with the focus on PVP. Came back years later to the launch and see this crafting system. Crowfall will now go down in history as a crafting disaster. Some notes on the crafting and distribution of craft items: 1. Ultima Online Vendor's worked because they were in the wild where someone could happen on one and buy stuff... or you got lucky like I did and get one just outside of a bank making me MILLIONS of gold. Where are they in Crowfall? Behind a loading screen and possibly be one of dozens of vendors you have to scour through in one EK (which the proposed "find" system won't fix). 2. Ultima Online's crafting system was a streamlined system. Each craft didn't require others (to my knowledge). Katana's take X amount of ingots and that is it (UO). Instead of needing an item from leatherworking AND woodworking (shield), then making 3 more items and combining one into three more itmes then combining what's left over for an item that is not as good as what you would find in a house or on an NPC most of the time (Crowfall). See the difference in complexity? 3. Lets leave Shadowbanes superior mine and craft system out of this fight for now...

  34. How does this not just produce an end of campaign game of "who can we ally with to increase our standing"? This seems super exploitable. Can guilds shed players at end of campaign, ally up to aggregate points, win, and then invite everyone back? I really feel that alliance score should be the score of the leading guild plus any points gained by allied guilds only while part of that alliance. If a guild leaves an alliance their points should be subtracted from the alliance score, but if they join an alliance their points should not be added to the alliance score. Example: Guild A, Guild B, and Guild C ally at start of campaign. A scores 100 points, B scores 200 points, C score 300 points. Guild A=100, Guild B=200, Guild C=300, Alliance ABC=600 points. Guild A leaves Alliance ABC and joins Guild D with 400 points in Alliance AD. Guild A=100, Guild B=200, Guild C=300, Guild D=400, Alliance BC=500, Alliance AD=400 Guild A gains 100 points while part of Alliance AD. Guild A=200, Guild D=400, Alliance AD=500

As you can see in the video below, he was blocking both times slowing poison was applied, but only the first time did it apply exhaustion. This also works with slowing poison from Envenom not causing exhaustion to targets that are blocking.

  41. Now that the low-sec zones are gone, there no longer seem to be many (any?) low-rank harvesting nodes (Rank 4). Given that a new player has limited access to harvesting disciplines and tools, this means that a new gatherer has an extremely tough rough ahead. While knocking down a rank 6 (very common in Sky Point) with a white harvesting disc and intermediate tools is possible, a new player is unlikely to know about Plentiful Harvest, and therefore will be gathering with the baseline Plentiful Harvest 1. This tiny trickle of resources is a huge bottleneck for getting started into harvesting and crafting.
