  2. Lack of population has been an ongoing problem for Crowfall, and the designers need to take some time to work out why that is and what they can do to fix it. There are tens of thousands of people with access to the beta right now. Yet under 1% of them are playing at peak times. I've heard all the excuses about how people who've paid for early access don't actually want to test an unfinished game, how an upcoming wipe is causing people to not want to play, etc. Wait, let's unpack that last one a bit. People don't want to participate because there's a chance their work will be wiped aw

  3. All I can express is how huge of a let down this is - an NA siege schedule won't give you a larger player population, nor player participation. All it will accomplish is creating an even larger antipathy towards the game and development from the playing - non-NA part of the community. The amount of feedback and hard work trying to get just -one- campaign, where there was NA -and- EU siege times, has just been flushed down the drain. It's not just the NA community that has been waiting around for weeks to get a test of the Dregs, it's also a decently sized EU/Russian one. Instead of learn

  5. Ok so after a few days, and there are like 10 pages of feedback post already here. I'm too damn frustrated to go through each one, so if I repeat the work of others my apologies! First off, I find the new changes to the crafting system monstrous. Adding the proc rate to hit off of sub components, or increasing the % chance off the final assembly by a major amount would be the only way to fix the issues going on right now. Just on my Necromancer I've had to build about 80 vessels for 3 Necromancer Knowledges. This is unacceptable and this change has turned this into a hardcore grind game.

The basics - The big keeps are now renamed to Citadels (Just to make it easier to different the two keep types) - Each zone contains one Citadel (Unique parcel and layout designs), 3 keeps and 9 Forts and bunch of camps - The forts all go at once and last for 3 hours before they are no longer capturable however when one gets captured there a 30 minute clock that starts and if that guild can hold it for a 30

The larger a guild becomes the more logistical work there will be. If you are not mass-producing and having a large amount of waste, an option is doing individual crafting.. which conflict with people being on these opposite schedules. So to overcome these issues Caldera has crafted a tool to aid us. In Caldera we have chosen to sort this out through representing how the state of our current gear is in. You almost leaned into a good combinatorics system, but then you seemed to have veered away and said no, no, only a few discipline choices for any promo. A simple suggestion to improve: every class has a domain that is available to all three promotions (e.g. Light for Cleric). That domain should be given for free at the class selection level (all Clerics have Light unlocked by default). Do that across all classes, then add a

    Territory, not PoIs.

While I don't feel like I have quite enough experience or context to create a complete solution, I feel like a lot of the focus has been on PoIs, but not the overall control of territory. I wonder if the strategy should be more focused on territory control (not that it needs to be as... visually vibrant.... as the below example) If we look at Planetside 2, for example: It's really clear on the map who controls what, and moreover you can see that, for the most part, territory is contiguous - sometimes there's a bit of red in the middle of the blue, but generally speak

    Plans for UDP?

I noticed while poking around that Crowfall uses TCP for it’s network stack, apparently creating a thread to handle a blocking socket for network communications. Are there plans to move to UDP instead of TCP? It’s been pretty well established that TCP is awful for multiplayer games. While Crowfall disabled Nagle, it’s still going to suffer from re-transmits. I do not see any way in which Crowfall’s zone caps can be increased with the current netcode implemented. Not trying to be an armchair expert but this problem has been some what solved, and even available as frameworks such as ht

In the image above, red circles represent forced choices. Assuming you are going for a capstone, (and if they will be as good as you say I don't think it is a choice not to) 4 of our 15 points are forced. Down to 11 points. We only get 2 options once we choose a promotion. Spend 1 point or spend 2 points. If these talents are meant to be your promotion's bread and butter, you really do not have a choice and take both. 19. Power trays look very empty in 6.2. I feel that we should have more options to pick. Remove lock on domain once you trained one domain (1 talent cost is already a penalty). Give us 3 major and 4 minor slots. We also need more options to pick from. Create an Earthkeeper and try to slot something useful in minors. I ended up with Phantom Armor for defence and Take Root for more healing if I can stay stationary (which is pretty hard on mobile class). The second option would be to play defensive stakes. And that's it. All other options don't do anything. First Wind? - I am n

    Waste Of $50

Well let's take a closer look Mr. Ministry, you played 40 hours for 50 bucks that's $1.25 dollars per entertainment hour. To put that into perspective a bottle of Crown Royal Reserve would cost you $47.99 and if you drank the whole bottle you'd be drunk for 2 hours, vomit and pass out for 12 hours, and then vomit again. That would work out to about $3.43 dollars per entertainment hour. And you'd still feel like you where going nowhere but at least I would be entertained.

There is not much choice at all in character creation because 75% of promo classes are very weak because of domains and missing core ability's. We need to have access 2-3 Domains and 1-2 more Talent points. 3-4 Majors slots and 3-4 minor slots. That's how i can build at least semi unique character.

If you don't like the game as it is now, make a suggestion for improvement. ACE does listen to player feedback. WAY TOO MANY folks have already tried the game and decided to move on. This is NOT good for the game. This is a PvP focused game and for PvP to work we NEED a sizable population. So, please don't ask people to move on. and, please don't listen to the trolls who say this.

    Changes to Crafting...

87 Armor crafted. Bleh 60+ vessels made. zero knowledges yet. This is very very unfun. around 80 tools made. zero knowledges. Did about 50 Phil stones. and 50ish armor coatings. 2 knowledges there. Made around 4 weapons and got 1 knowledge there. Still very very unfun. Costs are high, and while I have training now, after a wipe, trying to do this with whites that noone is going to want is going to drive home how much of a treadmill chore it is. Also green and blue crafting have no lift to the crafting stats. I guess since you can equip the belt at blue that allow

  32. I think you guys let this bake in the oven too long before collecting player feedback. The reduced number of choices (from 30 down to 15), the still rather obvious talent decisions due to strong vs. underpowered nodes, and the significant pruning of post-promotion talents are all design decisions that just leave me feeling sad. Holy Symbol – Radical promotion no longer gets to choose if they want to convert Holy Symbol to additional DPS or retain a support ability. It’s just baked in. Stat Bundle 1 – Is that a choice? Promotion Talents – only 2 talents and both are must-haves

  34. Yes, first I want to say that we appreciate your feedback concerning the NA / EU split campaigns and we're working to see what we can do for future campaigns. Currently, the NA and EU campaigns were designed as separate maps and siege schedules in order to accommodate different campaign sizes. Unfortunately, at this time, there isn't an easy way to create a new campaign in 6.100 that has a combined NA and EU siege schedule, so there won't be any changes to the campaign setup until 6.200.

  37. Good catch @Groovin The biggest problem I have with this is that since the capstones and promotions are so strong, you're going to want to take them which locks you into 9 talents minimum - leaving you with little customization. That plus the tree flowing left to right also causes a problem with build flexibility in talents. Obviously a lot of the juice is hidden within the new discipline overhaul and how they are sorted into domains. There's a chance that the domains leave a lot of flexibility in builds and you aren't going to min max-lock yourself into some of these builds based solel

I never heard anyone complaining about not being friendly with guild members in an EK. It is now much more difficult to test builds in real combat situation with your guild mates only. Even staged fights in The Infected are difficult because of the other players running around.

  41. As people said many times in the reveal threads, a lot of the "choices" aren't choices at all. So, say I'm an assassin that wants to use poisons. I need to take Shiv in the top left to be able to equip and apply them. .. But then I need to take Poison Mastery in the top right to unlock most of the poisons. .. So I need to take Efficient Poisons below it because it's required. That's 3 talents just to make poisons work properly. Also, I need to take at minimum 2 unrelated talents to get to that point, so that's 1/3 of my total build points spoken for just to get po

While I fine with the current vendor upkeep cost, I do not think the vendor should cost upkeep unless the EK is actually up and running. I understand that server capacity is low at the moment, and I am fine with unused EKs being offline to ease the load. However, the vendors should not be charging us on their days off. =)

  47. I have to agree with the points @Yoink posted earlier. One of the most important opportunities to create a unique class or build is through talents and decisions post-class promotion. The new talent design removes all of this. There is no choice after selecting the final class. All Archers or Brigands appear to be identical, excluding a few choices from the General Tree. The changes made to Domains sound great. Theoretically, this enables players to distinguish their class / playstyle through race and disciplines (limited by Domain). But why not add to build depth within the current
