I crafted all of the Specialty Seals and these are the results:
Iron/Slate - Ben Harvest Chance: Wood/Ben Harvest Power: Wood
    Iron/Marble - Woodworking/Woodworking Experimentation
    Iron/Travertine - Jewelcrafting/Jewelcrafting Experimentation
Iron/Limestone - Plethora of Dust: Wood/Spot Weakness: Wood
Iron/Granite - Harvest Crit Chance: Wood/Harvest Crit Amount: Wood
Tin/Slate - Ben Harvest Chance: Stone/Ben Harvest Power: Stone
    Tin/Marble - Stonemasonry/Stonemasonry Experimentation
    Tin/Travertine - Leatherworking/Leatherworking Experimentation
Tin/Limestone - Plethora of Dust: Stone/Spot Weakness: Stone
Tin/Granite - Harvest Crit Chance: Stone/Harvest Crit Amount: Stone
    Aurelium/Slate - Unexpected Results
    Aurelium/Marble - Runemaking/Runemaking Experimentation
    Aurelium/Travertine - Unexpected Results
    Aurelium/Limestone - Unexpected Results
    Aurelium/Granite - Unexpected Results
Silver/Slate - Ben Harvest Chance: Animal/Ben Harvest Power: Animal (seal labeled as Grave Digging Seal)
    Silver/Marble - Necromancy/Necromancy Experimentation
    Silver/Travertine - Unexpected Results
Silver/Limestone - Plethora of Dust: Animal/Spot Weakness: Animal (seal labeled as Grave Digging Seal)
Silver/Granite - Harvest Crit Chance: Animal/Harvest Crit Amount: Animal (seal labeled as Grave Digging Seal)
Copper/Slate - Ben Harvest Chance: Ore/Ben Harvest Power: Ore
    Copper/Marble - Blacksmithing/Blacksmithing Experimentation
    Copper/Travertine - Alchemy/Alchemy Experimentation
Copper/Limestone - Plethora of Dust: Ore/Spot Weakness: Ore
Copper/Granite - Harvest Crit Chance: Ore/Harvest Crit Amount: Ore
There are no seals for Grave Digging, though the animal ones are labeled as such. Grave Digging should be from Aurelium.
The unexpected results on Aurelium/Travertine and Silver/Travertine make sense since there are only 8 professions. Room for expansion (enchanting?).

Are you in God's Reach, or in the EU campaign?
Once you join a faction, you can't change for the length of the campaign. This is so that people can't change factions if their chosen faction is losing.
If you delete your character and create a new one, it might allow you to re-select your faction. I'm not sure on that. Otherwise, you'll probably need to wait until the campaign ends (assuming that is where you are having the issue). The other option would be to join the NA campaign when that goes online later today, and then you and your friends can all join the same faction in that campaign.
In the future, there will be campaigns that aren't faction based, but rather guild based, so this issue won't exist for those campaigns.

This is a PvP game and has been billed as such since day 1. There are some PvE elements, but nothing close to what you'd expect from an actual PvE game. The PvE stuff is just there to enhance the PvP experience, like harvesting, crafting and mobs. If you are looking for quests and dungeons/raids, this isn't the game for you.

Do we really need to have this discussion again? Necromancy is FINE. It doesn't need decay. There will always be new players (provided the game is successful and if it isn't, then it doesn't matter). There will always be new builds to make due to changing meta or new content added. The idea that everyone in the game will have the best legendary vessels possible on all the characters that they want (across multiple accounts, in many cases), and that they will never want to change them, is absurd.
The decay system for Necromancy is built into the fact that you have to delete ones you no longer want. You can't sell it or give it to someone else once you've used it. They don't stay in the game. They get replaced. If you replace a sword with a better sword, you can still keep the original one and use it again after the new one breaks. You can't do that with vessels. It's just a different kind of decay. Planned obsolescence.

They lowered it because GR isn't supposed to be the place where you farm a lot of gold/resources. The campaign worlds will have better drops.
When GR first came online, a ton of people complained about how easy and risk-free it is to farm stuff in GR. Now they have pretty much nerfed all the drops in GR and people are complaining that they are too low. Let's wait and see what the drops are like in the campaigns.

Regardless of the amount of tuning required, it's something that can be fixed by changing the numbers rather than changing the delivery mechanism. That was my point. The fact that they drop from mobs isn't the problem, just how often they drop and the odds of getting any specific thing that you are looking for. And as they tune these things, it will increase PvP, which is a good thing. People are characterizing this as grind so that you can pvp, but in reality, this is the pvp if done properly.

Arkade got a reaction from JamesGoblin in New Tech Brings Armor Changes - Official Discussion Thread
Drop rates can be modified. Drop locations can be focused to a more narrow set of items. If the Aracoix raid boss drops 10 of the most powerful minor discs every time he is killed, is that a grind, or is it an opportunity for PvP? Was the Commander Rune drop a grind in SB or did it add a point of conflict to the game? Spread the discs out on different mobs, have some drop from solo mobs and some from group mobs and let the economy disperse them as needed.
I agree that's it too much of a grind right now, but they don't need to scrap the entire system, just fine tune it.

Lack of options increases dependence on other players to provide those options.
It is the same logic behind preventing players from achieving mastry in every crafting type, and the same logic behind every build  having natural and deliberate counters.
Narrow roles require more people to fill them, which in turn increases the need for players to band together with others.
Major disciplines are not minor functionality bonuses, as you yourself have already said. They are major, potentially build shifting aspect of the character. How does it make sense to lobby for them to be hot swappable while still require people to lock in to race, class, and talent promotion class?
Minor disciplines are minor enhancements that in total comprise less than a quarter of what is offered by a major. They are much more in line with what is offered by gear and it thus makes sense to treat them as a bit less sticky.

You opinion on this matter seems to be "the more stuff I can do with less work" makes crowfall a better game.
I fundamentally disagree with your opinion. The more valuable individual characters (and thus the people who have invested in those characters) are, the stronger the game expresses the crucial interdependence that a good sandbox requires to function. The more roles a single person can fill with less effort, the less of a reason that person has to seek allies. That is devastating to the very fabric of a game in which the majority of the content is other players.

For you it's about "do we have a molehunter?"
For me its about "do we have Dave, our antistealth guy, or Ronald, our backup antistealth guy?"

The first is a question of whether or not you have some loot in a bank. The second is a question of whether or not you have people on hand that can do the job. Only one of these things causes you to actively seek out people that are enthusiastic and passionate about doing that job. Only one of these things organically creates functional, competitive, long lasting guilds and friendships out of necessity.
Those personal connections are crucial to the long term draw of a sandbox mmo. Without them the "content" dries up really fast. Its the difference between having a job and being valuable, or being some random guy with the right equipment on today.

I may be wrong, but I don't think pledge packages can be upgraded any more. I think it's specifically just the early access packages that they are selling now.
Send an email to support@crowfall.com and they will let you know for sure.

Arkade got a reaction from JamesGoblin in Backer Package Upgrade
Yes, you can upgrade. If you buy a lower Backer Pack, the store will give you the option to upgrade to one of the higher packages:

Any of the 3 packages will give you immediate, full access to the LIVE server for as long as the game exists. The LIVE server is up 24/7, except for maintenance/outages.
The different test groups only matter in regards to the TEST server. The TEST server is where new patches go first before being moved to LIVE. When there is a new major milestone (5.6, 5.7, 5.8, etc.), it is put on the TEST server and access is restricted on that server based on test groups. The Pre-alpha 1 and Pre-alpha 2 test groups get first crack at it, followed by Alpha 1, Alpha 2 and Alpha 3, then Beta 1, Beta 2 and Beta 3. It probably takes about 2 weeks for all the groups to get access to the new build and then once access is granted to everyone, you retain access on the TEST server until the next major milestone. So in terms of access, the different packages only affect how quickly you get access to the TEST server when testing new milestones.
The other stuff you get from the packages won't affect your in-game experience much, if at all. There are no horses or merchant pack pigs in the game yet. There are mounts, but they are really just run speed buffs at this point, and they aren't hard to obtain. VIP access doesn't start until the game launches.
If you are unsure about which package you want, get the cheapest one, play the game for a bit, and then decide later if you want to upgrade.

What he means is, if the new roll is lower than the original roll, the original roll will be used. Your results can't get worse.
    Success/Success/Failure/Great Success + Failure/Great Success/Success/Amazing Success = Success/Great Success/Success/Amazing Success
Basically, you are getting the best of 2 rolls on each pip.
With the small re-roll, it would be something like this:
    Success/Success/Failure/Great Success + Great Success/Great Success/Success = Great Success/Great Success/Success/Great Success
Only the 3 lowest are re-rolled and they are all guaranteed to be +1 or better than the previous roll.

It sounds like Small will be preferred in many cases. Given the cost of the large reroll, maybe it should give at least +1 to the first 3 pips and then use the original rolls as the floor for the rest of the pips.

In today's livestream, Blair showed a breastplate with Damage Bonus: Crushing. I've tried all of the combinations and the combos that used to give damage bonus now give the associated damage resistance. So instead of Damage Bonus: Crushing from Gold/Tin, I now get Crushing Resistance.
Is there some accessory that I need to unlock an additive slot so I can make the armor with damage bonuses instead of resistance?

Fact. They have said several times now that there will be a wipe with the upcoming armor changes in 5.8.6, which is currently on TEST. On TEST, they wiped everything but skills. Hopefully they will do the same on LIVE. I know I'll have to do it at least once more, but I'm tired of training the same skills over and over.
