  1. I just cracked open my CE box this evening, and noticed a little cardboard insert regarding crow codes (https://crowfall.com/en-US/crowcodes), and am not sure if I'm misreading the card or if there's an oversight in code availability.

When I visit https://crowfall.com/en-US/crowcodes, I am offered a single alphanumeric Digital Game Code, and a link to offer two friends a 7-day trial and a 10% discount on purchasing a pack.

However, the wording on the crowcodes card insert from the CE box specifically outlines two "Friend Backer Pack Codes" described as offering a single copy of the game (akin to the "Digital Game Code" I see available on the crowcodes site).

Disregard this post, I read the insert again and the wording does not actually explicitly say the codes give access to the game.

  2. I think I recall in Shadowbane long distance travel usually really sucking, and summons/runegates/etc being the only effective form of getting long distances. Buffs / Race / Etc could make it a fair bit faster, but it always sucked having to traverse the map. As frustrating as it could be, it would have forced a lot more strategy in protracted combat since you'd need to actually get people and stuff to a target.

That was a different age of MMOs though, and the speed of player movement through the world was usually a lot slower. Most games nowadays have flight or at least 2-3x base movement fast travel of some kind.

Maybe future discs or gear or other abilities will allow more significant disparity in player speeds. (Legendary Centaur Horseshoes of Gofast?)

I watch a lot of Crowfall streamers on Twitch. Our community rallies around the streamers, too, and I have a great time chatting with them during the streams. I highly recommend jumping in to watch a few and getting to know the Crows who flock there.

It hadn't really occurred to me that following a streamer could be a way to meet people before reading this post. In hindsight it makes sense, streamers generate their own communities (that's kind of the point I guess), and while the people in those communities don't *always* play the game, I'm sure a large portion of them do.

  4. It's not actually 7/19/19 anymore but I'm posting anyway because I downloaded the test client to fart around on it.

I hadn't really played since before the new player controller, which I assuming is in now because it feels much smoother. Movement is way crisper, and reactive. Graphics and aesthetic is really starting to come together. Overall everything felt much much less clunky. I didn't play very long because I fell down a really deep cliff and had to go back to work.

Great job though. Client's lookin' real good.

  5. I ran around for a while in a campaign cutting trees and stuff, and making tools. Character control and movement feels much smoother. Less jarring. I switched over to my EK to try that out, I was able to drop my parcels without too much issue, and ran around gathering for a while. It felt pretty good, music was nice. Good stuff.

I failed to figure out how to place any buildings though. It always said I didn't have enough tokens or didn't have permission. I couldn't figure out how to change permissions for parcels, though in the game's defense I didn't try that hard to figure it out.

Bit of stuttering, but I installed the game onto a really slow hard drive, and it handled it moderately well. I actually ended up accidentally installing it into the root directory of said poorly made socksty hard drive because I was only half reading the installer. So my F:/ drive is now filled with Crowfall files, which is neat.

    7.8/10 really good.

  6. Welcome! The current interface for crafting combines is super temporary, and there's actually a brand new much shinier one with much more bells and whistles that will be in the patch after 5.8. (So early next year prob). I *think* in 5.8 though characters do actually do animations while creating things, at least at workbenches. (I am not 100% on this one and might be wrong, but if it's not in 5.8 it will be virtually guaranteed before launch at least.)

  7. I think the access is supposed to be Alpha 1 and earlier (so anything Pre-Alpha), but I'm Alpha 2 and I'm patching, and can also see and make terrible posts in this forum, so

Edit: Well I downloaded and patched up, but am not entitled. So you can definitely view the forum while being unable to play the snap.

  8. The install wizard doesn't automatically refresh disk usage as far as I could observe (though admittedly I didn't wait very long). I had to open up the Browse.. (for folder) window to get it to refresh after I uninstalled fortnite to make enough space on my SSD

I dunno if this is your own inhouse install wizard or not but I wanted to tell you that because that's how far I've got

thanks for all your hard work

  9. You nailed this Q&A IMO. good length. I watched the whole thing. You two looked really comfortable and excited, and like you were holding back even more excitement. Seeing this made me feel excited too. Now we can all be excited together, good job.

if Armor and Weapon crafting feels so thin smart guy then why not just add another Armor Type or more Materials and More Weapons to make them feel thiccer
