The article mentions that tracks are broken down by zone, however I was wondering if there are plans to add unique tracks (or remixes - perhaps the same track with difference instruments or in a different key) to particularly noteworthy parcels? I've always appreciated the ability for specific music tracks in games (mmos in particular) to reinforce the 'feel' and 'personality' of a particular area.

    Hi, Hi.!
Good catch!  We've discussed arranging themes for each adventuring area (canyon, forest, etc.), and possibly applying a variation of that theme based on the mob that inhabits it. For example, if it's a spider canyon, the melody might be be played by a cello... but if it's zombie-themed, then the melody might be played by an organ!
The key word there is POSSIBLY.  Right now Nelson is filling out the soundtrack with more general tracks that can be used broadly across the game. This is a great suggestion and one that we would like to pursue, but I can't guarantee it'll happen before launch.

I don't understand the "If you want legendary.." because legendary gear is far beyond the progression right now...   everyone is in white advanced (hardly useless) gear or will be in a day or so and anyone even attempting uncommon green gear will get a flawed/failure piece and waste the green mats.   If you want legendary gear you are out of luck just like everyone else... it cannot be made and won't for 2 more months... no one has it and neither do you.   Your point has nothing to do with what I said...   which is you don't have to harvest or craft to get equally geared right now and you can do it in under 1 hour easily.   No items will drop in CF...  only pieces needed to craft items.

Welcome! Crowfall is currently in pre-beta testing. I dunno if it's still termed as pre-alpha or not but it's in a fairly playable state. (Though many features that will be present in the final game are not yet there).

Anyone with Beta 3 can play in the current 'live-test' servers. Any of the packs that include the base game also include Beta 3 at this time.

    KOBOLD
Long serving as Thralls and Comfort Creatures to the mighty Dragons, no-one is quite sure where the first Kobolds first arose. Some believe they were created through the magical union of Dragon and Man, while others believe a particularly powerful and lonely Dragon created the first Kobold to serve as it's companion. Whatever their source, any worlds the mighty Dragons are found are sure to house a thriving population of Kobolds.
    RACE OVERVIEW
Kobolds serve as Crowfall's first 'Advanced' race, which means players will need to craft or otherwise obtain a Vessel of this type before being able to play as a Kobold. Players will need to take this Vessel item to a local Crypt in order to create a Kobold Character. Kobold body parts are not available from regular graveyards, however! Those wishing to obtain the materials to create Kobold Vessels themselves will need to head to the Crown Shop (or their local trade hub!) to purchase a Kobold Cache.
    KOBOLD CACHE
The Kobold Cache is our first 'cache' item. These tradable items, when opened, can obtain a variety of different items chosen randomly. In the case of the Kobold Cache, they can contain anything from Ethereal Dust, Advanced Crafting Materials, Kobold Body Parts (used to craft Kobold Vessels!), or (rarely) Kobold Vessels themselves.
Buyer be aware, however! Kobolds (and thus their Vessels and Body Parts) come in *six* different varieties, each with significant variations on both their cosmetic appearance, and in-game abilities. Kobold Vessels can be found in Red, Blue, Green, White, Black, and (extremely rare) Metallic varieties.

Enough about how you play a Kobold, how about what they do?

    KOBOLD
    The Kobold Racial Runestone grants
    An attribute bonus to Spirit
    An attribute bonus to Constitution
An attribute bonus to a Third Stat (x), dependent on the Kobold's Color. - Red (Intellect), Blue (Intellect), Green, (Constitution) White (Spirit), Black (Strength), and Metallic (Dexterity)
    A Ring equipment slot
The Kobold Bloodline passive consists of:
Far Jump: A significant bonus to horizontal jump distance, at the cost of increased stamina consumption.
<x> Hide: A small bonus to all resistances (including physical), and a large bonus to a single resistance dependent on the Kobold's Color. - Red (Fire), Blue (Cold), Green, (Poison) White (Holy), Black (Darkness), and Metallic (Physical)
Additionally, this Race offers two Active Powers that you can choose to add to your Power Tray.
The first power is the race specific right-click block power Cuddle Together. This ability multiplies the bonus to resistances granted by the Kobold's <x> Hide skill. The true potential of this ability is realized when multiple Kobolds use this ability in close proximity, as multiple Kobolds will both boost the effect (dependent on the number of Kobolds), and causes them to 'squish' together (beyond normal player clipping distance) creating powerful 'stacks'.
The second power is Breath of <x>, a powerful instant-cast Cone ability with a stacking component when used by multiple Kobolds. Both the immediate, and stacking components of this ability are dependent on the Kobold's Color. - Red (Fire nuke with an intensity-stacking dot), Blue (Cold damage with an intensity-stacking snare), Green (Poison damage with a duration-stacking dot), White (Heal with an intensity-stacking hot), Black (Darkness nuke with an intensity and duration-stacking dot), and Metallic (Heal with a duration-stacking buff to all stats)
    CLASSES AND GENDERS AVAILABLE
Knight, Cleric, and a Third Class dependent on the Kobold's Color. - Red (Confessor), Blue (Frostweaver), Green (Druid), White (Cleric), Black (Assassin), and Metallic (Duelist)
There is no in-game difference for Races that offer multiple genders, it’s purely cosmetic. As Kobolds are considered a 'Monster' race, we are planning only to make Female versions of them.

Actually got on the forums today to suggest adding a Kobold race. Though if I'm reading what you are saying correctly, you want people to buy Kobolds piece by piece (With that cache system). If that's the case, just scrap that and add the race outright
It's awesome that Crowfall does have a few unique races I haven't seen in other games, but Kobolds, despite being in many games, have never appeared as a playable race. I would adore playing as Kobolds in this game, even if it meant cutting a race :P. (Kobolds suggested by OP/being descendants of dragons, not the Kobolds Blizzard has. No idea what those things are.)
EDIT: After reading the rest of the post, I feel as if you are trying to make the Kobolds sexualized, with the ability "cuddle together" and making them all female. While I like the idea of them having a skill where if they are grouped together, they get a buff, I'm not to fond of the whole clipping into each other via "squishing". I would also like to play as a male Kobold and in general detest gender locking characters. This also goes for having their color be locked to a class.

Enough about how you play a Kobold, how about what they do?
    KOBOLD RUNESTONE

Hi. reacted to PopeUrban in Archeage 4.5 Fresh Start
You literally could not pay me to revisit the soul sucking quagmire of grind and pay to win nonsense that is archeage. That game had one and only one cool thing. The vehicle/tradepack mechanics were neat until Pvp died because everyone used the "peace time" windows to move their stuff.
Oh and I guess abusing the justice system and rigging the justice system was kinda funny.
No really. If Trion sent me an email that said 'we will give you sixty dollars to play our fresh start server' I would reply "no."

I understand neither your mindset or his, but I applaud your brash and unyielding dedication to short term efficiency over long term reward. MMOs need people like you.

Hi. got a reaction from PopeUrban in Buying items ingame for VIP Tokens in Alpha / Beta
Speaking as someone who is definitely dumb enough and has in fact been trying to do this very thing: because I don't want to spend my own time farming dust
Edit: an interesting anecdote on relative value. I was talking to someone ingame confused why someone would want to trade stuff *for* a VIP token, given the tokens are effectively worthless ingame right now. They felt the trade was a sucker's bet because you'd be giving up actual current ingame value for something ephemeral that will only be useful at some indeterminate point in the future.

To be completely sure, i would suggest to contact support@crowfall.com. The community can always just guess and interpret. I expect any ingame items to be legally tradeable for other ingame items - at least after launch. And that this will include buildings and VIPs. Once they are ingame items it shouldnt matter if someone wants to trade ore for wood or vip. But right now they are not ingame items.
