Can the Devs please use this website for all communications?  I didn't sign up for third party apps like Twitter and Facebook.  I don't know why I should be expected to in order to participate in the playtests, given there is a perfectly good forum right here.

I am not seeing most of the things people type into chat.  My guildies see messages that I do not.  Often times, my own chat doesnt work, pressing enter just clears the chat box but no message is posted into chat, others do not see it either.

Just as a heads up, the C++ redistributable that is currently on the /client page still refuses to install on my windows 10 machine.
It gives the warning:  "A newer version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable has been detected on the machine."
It will not allow me to install anyway.   This caused havoc with the last build, rendering the game basically unplayable.

Welcome to Crowfall Pre-Alpha Milestone 3.0!
    General
Big World is here for Pre-Alpha 1 backers!
Gameplay has completely changed! Everything has changed! In fact this is mainly tech testing, don’t get too wound up about balance at this point! (Out of the hundreds of things we did this summer, I will just highlight a few)
Harvesting is in! (Boost your output with crafted potions)
Crafting is in! (Press J to open crafting UI)
    Duelist Archetype is now playable!
Stealth is Available on the Duelist.
      Big World:
    Parcels are in!
Both single player and group ore nodes are available. (It should be pretty obvious which is which)
Default weapons damage set to 25% potential.
Basic weapons damage set to 50% potential.
Advanced weapons are 100% potential. (I think you know what to do)
      Character:
Much optimization of the character models.
Upon death your inventory items (not equipped items) are lootable for 20 seconds, anything not looted will be with you upon respawn. (This is temporary until Vessel system is online)
      Combat:
Most attacks that would previous hit 3 targets now hit 1 target. (red icon attacks)
Damage splitting has been removed from AoE attacks. (orange attacks)
Damage pass on all powers and items.
      Skills:
Skills are now at the account level.
Skills universally require 100 in a skill box to advance to the next skill.
    Many new UI elements added.
      Known Issues:
Hellcats do not produce Hide in this build, meaning armor is uncraftable.
New character jumping tech is partially implemented, it will feel off.
Character Root Motion Bumpers are disabled atm, meaning it is easy to squirt past an opponent.
Advanced Pistols and Advanced Confessor Books are not implemented yet.

Don't call it a release or a launch!  Just call it BETA and let people who have bought in play.   Once released, MMO's don't get a second chance.
Let people know there will be a hard release day, probably late 2018.

First, the reason zerging is considered bad is that it is boring, and players will leave if that becomes the dominant play style.  Players are dumb in a way, and will do what it takes to win even if they hate doing it, right up until they quit.

Now, there is more to 'zerging' than just balling up.   I think of that as a tactical zerg.   This can be stopped with combat mechanics, some as discussed in the videos and also proper handling of damage splitting.

But there is also the strategic zerg.  A strategic zerg doesn't necessarily entail balling up, but simply overwhelming the enemy with numbers, allowing no counter-play.
This was a problem in GW2 for example.  A big alliance can 'zerg' from castle to castle in a short amount of time giving no chance for the smaller team to use clever tactics to hamstring them.  The zerg can then move from castle to castling like so many scrubbing bubbles, conquering the entire map very quickly.   This makes defending completely pointless.  It makes having squads, sub-alliances and any other sort of fun strategy worthless.  This sort of zerging should be counterable with counter attacks, guerrilla warfare, spies, cutting supply lines, and generally encouraging the zerg to get mired in wrong place.  These sort of things didnt work in GW2 because the castles are too close to each other, and the zerg can resurrect its dead, thus never weakening as it overextends.

Finally, there is the server zerg.  The philosophy of this zerging is essentially a version of a internet denial of service.  This sometimes happens a mega-alliance decides to humilate a game developer.  What if 20,000 people decide to camp a server designed for 10,000 people?  Yeah, that is not very fun.  You can't log in, if you do the lag is terrible, and then you are spawn camped.  The goal is to make people quit. Once one server is killed, the zerg moves to another server, repeating the process.  This works just like a strategic zerg works against castles, only instead of just castles, its whole servers. Something like this happened in Elder Scrolls.     One way to prevent this is to have no free accounts, and each account is limited to a server.
