  2. This thread here has some fantastic ideas on how to make EKs matter more while building a deeper and richer relationship with the CWs. It has great game loop ideas!
  3. Dude I get it. Right now PvP is like a death match without any winners. And death match is the most bland version of PvP there is. Then you dump on the lack of consequences, no impactful game loop, minimal mob variation, harvesting seems to be the only thing you can do that feels like you are progressing. Because of this and that CF has opened it's doors YEARS earlier than any other MMO so crazy fan can test lots of broken incomplete systems it is easy to feel like it's a boring game.... BECAUSE IT IS. Lol It won't stay that way and most of the hype people feel is we can see how it will all fit together POST LAUNCH. This is going it be a conquest heavy game. The thrill of victory is going to take MONTHS to achieve. There will be no short term BR or MOBA PvP. This will be truly a unique style of combat...not even week long Civ games can come close to this...and I can't wait!

One thing to remember is this passive skill system was based on a game that had equal parts PvP AND PvE so it's implementation is always going to feel weird and strange to a purely player driven PvP game. They are trying to take steps to add in more active progression like vessels and the sacrifice system. There are also some other ideas coming down the pipe but we must wait to see those ideas. Be assured that Todd has said they want more minute to minute game play features.

  8. I haven't finished delving through this amazing amount of effort and thoroughness. I will say that if they want to run a POST LAUNCH Kickstarter just to fund this I'm down day one! My favorite part of this is does something I've wanted since UO; player created and driven PvE/Quest/Content. Once the tools are in place we the players do all of the heavy lifting and fill the EKs with content for other players. Ace wont have to spend any additional resources to keep the content coming. We would basically be a free labor force. Our only pay would be the satisfaction of other players. Just a like the a mod community for a game we could keep interest alive with new content for other players. Also everything we need to build and sustain this would come from the CW. So the loop would only get stronger! Great job!
  9. **UPDATE** Since 5.7 is currently on TEST and coming shortly to LIVE we are delaying Blood & Glory because as we read from the quote above skills, EKs & Spirit Banks are getting wiped. This would be a major disruption to everyone. We also feel that waiting will make the tournament more even as well as interesting for all teams. Blood & Glory will start SEVEN DAYS AFTER 5.7 goes to the LIVE server. This will give all teams the same amount of time to craft their weapons and prepare for the season. Registration will close 4 days after 5.7 goes to the LIVE server. WE WILL HAVE A BRIEF ALL CAPTAINS MEETING ON DISCORD TO HANDLE ANY FINAL INSTRUCTIONS. PLEASE REGISTER NOW TO SAVE YOUR SPOT FOR BLOOD & GLORY! UPDATED RULES: Tournament Structure: The season will be organized in a Round Robin structure for 3 weeks so that every team would have played each team once. At the end of the 3 week season we will seed the single elimination tournament accordingly. It will be held during the following weekend with the top 6 teams of the Blood & Glory event. Top 2 will get a first round bye. Match Structure: Matches will be a best 2 out of 3 and MUST take place in an approved arena. Arena: You MUST make your EK with the Arena be on an East Coast server and have the same layout shown below. Teams: For this first event we are limiting the number of teams to 7. Each team must have 5 members with 1 member designated as Team Captain. All members must register on this site for a team to be eligible. No alternates. Match Schedule: Each week you will face 2 teams. Captains from each team must contact each other and schedule a convenient time for both groups. After the match is over the captain of the losing team will post the match results. Scores MUST be submitted by Sunday at 11:59pm CST. Keaggan will confirm all results Monday. (If teams can not agree on a time during the week Keaggan will provide 3 different times that are most convenient to him. If one of the teams fails to agree to one of the times provided they will take a loss.) Scoring: Captains of the losing team report the score. Classes & Races: All classes and races are allowed. However, each team is limited to ONE member per class. So each team will consist of 5 DIFFERENT classes. Gear: We would like to keep it to white only weapons and basic vessels.   10. This is a vague discussion on distance since we don't have solid examples yet. Because how close is TOO close? It's kind of tough to debate details. So I'll say I'm in the camp of farther is better. I'm all for better and worse stategic military, logistic and resource locations. I'm just not a fan of the freedom/easy resource farming bane protection gives if you have a castle sitting on AZ/POI. My fear is that siege PvP will be the only relevant PvP because it would essentially be a guarantee of easy reasoures. I want an actual WAR. Not just glossied up Attack/Defend Battle Field 1942 (the best BF version ever) game.
  11. I see this as one dimensional gaming. The SH that sit right on AZ/POI will hold substantial power. This would adversely impact the whole risk/reward CF is built on. One example of this would be the need for traveling to the important resources on the fridges of a CW and caravan them back to base.
  12. No stronghold should be in the same area as prime POIs, Adventure Zones or Special Spawns. Logistics and economy give depth and meaning to "the war effort." It also causes additional points of a stress that can be applied by enemies. Building a network of security provides more game play incentives and rewards than easy win conditions like having an AZ in my castle front yard.
  13. What does that mean? If small guilds don't want play the political game and form alliances to combat large guild or be the "small kingdoms the ally themselves with larger powers then GR (3 faction) is a better place to play. This isn't a shut down statement it is a "from what I can see CF will offer these options already" reply. What are you really asking for that won't be in CF? This is already happening. Lumber mills, quarries, etc and Adventure Zones will all house special resources that will drive PvP conflict. They are also expanding this with new sacrificial specific AZ and a few other things. Basically so far they are adding more reasons for us to go out and fight for land control.
  14. Those are called God's Reach, Infected & Dregs. Did it really take 150 posts to just reiterate what Crowfall will already have? PS SB Mines 2.0 are Adventure Zones and POIs.

Blood & Glory will consist of a 3 week season followed by a single elimination tournament. This isn't for the weak willed or feeble minded. Only those strong enough to endure a season of bloody fights get to stand on the mountain of corps and claim the title of CHAMPIONS! PRIZES Winning teams will given a special CHAMPION ROLE and COLOR in the Crowfall Community Discord that will prominently feature their names for all to see! Until the next tournament they will hold the title of Champions EXCLUSIVELY.   19. Hello Friends & Enemies! This is a quick little update about the Hungercast. First off just wanted to apologize for not putting this out a month ago. Massive failure on our part I thought we would would be back sooner than later but life didn't work out that way. Without getting into too many personal things between us @Noc. ran into some work training and other responsibilities and I have been doing my best to support my wife that has been dealing with (hopefully not too serious) health issues. So, to bring everyone up to speed we are putting the Hungercast into hibernation throughout the summer and should be back this fall. Thank you to everyone that has supported this community show joining us in chat, becoming a guest host and to those lurking in the back!   20. I'm more curious about this Gamescom discount. Was there a deal for those that went the CF booth in Gamescom to get them interested in CF? How many people from the EU used this? Are you going to do something similar during any gaming conventions here in the USA? BTW congrats @jen140lol
  21. To follow up on this. One of the biggest things to remember is latency. TVs have HORRIBLE latency. That 144 monitor probably will have 2-6ms while the 4k TV will be in the range of 20-30ms. This makes a massive difference in high action games like FPS.

  23. I'd like to chime in hear for a sec.....*clears throat* Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell no. I'm greedy and invested in this game. I want bonus crowns all day. Now I think reworking the shop prices to fit nicely into similar crown bundles is fine. The PoE example seems to be a solid idea. I don't care if I have extra though because I plan on playing Crowfall for awhile so anything left over is a win for me if I got it at a discount. So I guess the most ideal thing to do is price the shop items as close to purchasable crown bundle combinations AND include the bonuses for buying larger bundles. That would satisfy both camps.
  24. The initial topic of how to make exports more important is a good one to consider. That along with having a real tangible reason for winning CWs and making EKs a needed part of the game loop is the single biggest issue yet to be tackled. This is the fulcrum which all of CF success or failure balances on. The other thing being talked about is player driven vs game provided. It can feel like a broken game to those that haven't experienced a sandbox/player driven MMO. It can feel world and foreign. The we can do is hope to explain the positives well enough that some get a basic understanding of the value this type of game has. In the end only having been through it will people truly grasp the full scope of such a great play style.
