  1. Just as an FYI we don't always know when a wipe will be needed.  If we have to restructure training signficantly we'll need a training wipe.  If we end up with item/character issues then we may have to wipe those (along with talents).  Every wipe situation is unique, and we work as hard as we can to avoid them, but real progress towards beta and launch is the key driver of those decisions.  As each new version comes together we have to evaluate and make that call.  We appreciate everyone's patience with the process of development and helping us make Crowfall better. don't always know when a wipe will be needed.  If we have to restructure training we'll need a training wipe.  If we end up with item/character issues then we may have to wipe those (along with talents).  Every wipe situation is unique, and we work as hard as we can to avoid them, but real progress towards beta and launch is the key driver of those decisions.  As each new version comes together we have to evaluate and make that call.  We appreciate everyone's patience with the process of development and helping us make Crowfall better and get to launch (at quality) soonest.
Bottom line is we sometimes don't know we need a wipe of some or all data until pretty late in the development of an update when we're doing the final testing against data from the LIVE environment.

@TyrantI would like to give my two cents on the death penalty.

The death timer in this game is strange, starting from around 2 minutes for your first death and increasing after each death. This is really to long and boring for a normal players. Imagine, when the game will have 1000+ players in a campaign or dregs. You finish your work and you wanna play 2 hours to have fun with friends, you go PvP then you die, die , die because you don't care about your KDA and you wanna fight others people to improve together. After 10 death you reach more than 6 minutes doing nothing more than to stay at the ressurection statue.

    Basically you spent, 2 + 2.5 + 3 + 3.5 + 4 + 4.5 + 5 + 5.5 +6 + 6.5 ~ 40 minutes doing nothing waiting for your ressurection. From my point of view, this is a huge problem because 40% of your time is not used to play the game.

Nowaday, spending more than 1 minutes waiting doing nothing at the ressurection statue will no be well received by a more casual community.  The problem, we saw in this game was that people could ressurect and come back to fight before the combat ended.

    1) First of all, why should the death timer increase?

    2) This was possible, because of the lack damage to clean several players together. Make combat faster, could help this point as well as the serveur optimisation.

    3) The ressurection statue could be unable to ressurect people as soon as the point is contested (ennemy nearer than X m for fort and keep).

This triggered a good internal discussion.

We actually have 5 different world types (EK, GR, Infected, Shadow, Dregs) but only one resurrection ruleset and we'll need to change that.  The rule in place now with an escalating timer is really for the competitive campaign worlds to prevent "death-zerging",  getting back in the fight immediately once you've died.  In the campaign worlds most people don't die right next to the statue, they have to travel to get there and travel back to the action, so some of the delay is accounted for by that travel.

    Thanks for your input!

Performance Issue. Zoning into the Duchy of Marconia from Earth Temple my FPS drops to between 15-20. If I log out and back into the Duchy my performance goes back to a solid 60FPS. SPK and SVR ping don't seem to be out side of normal parameters, just a big drop in FPS. This seems to happen regardless of the graphics settings I have selected.

As a note, my system has 32gb ram and a RX2070 8Gb graphics card. So I really shouldn't have this issue.

Can you try this on BASIC or MEDIUM graphics setting?  Another player reported that this was only happening at HIGH and VERY HIGH settings.

We'd like to get your Dxdiag and client log of a time this happens at support@crowfall.com.

    Thanks!

  5. In TEST we often need to replace the God's Reach and The Infected campaigns as we're making map changes.  If you have a vendor that gets left behind in an older map, please contact support@crowfall.com with the details and we'll arrange to bring it up briefly so you can grab your vendor.  Only the myself and Jack can do this so it will be mostly during work hours and the evening in CST when we're available.

The Infected will only be up when the Dregs Campaign is down.  This only applies to vendors on God's Reach and The Infected.  On campaigns you should handle your vendors before the planned end of a campaign.

    Thanks!

I'm not sure if these are bugs or the tooltips are just wrong. If not just take it as feedback that it would be better if point 1 or 2 (or both) were changed to their current tooltip values.

    1) Nethari dodge cd is 21 seconds and not 15 seconds as the tooltip shows.

    2) Sanctifier: The talent Well-oiled Sandal reduces the dodge cooldown by 3 seconds instead of 30%.

    3) Sanctifier: The talent Salvation poorly scales from support power. I'm assuming this should be attack power considering Confessor is not a healing class and this is meant to give a "melee" spec some sustain. Currently you get 10hp ticks from a stationary, short ranged, channel which makes this a very risky skill in PvP with no almost no reward.

We've got lots of tooltip issues for sure, and will be addressing most of those a little later in development, we still appreciate the feedback so we verify we've got these bugged.

  9. We thought we'd get an updated version up tonight but it had a new exciting issue that stopped us from pushing this to TEST.   So it's likely we won't have testing this weekend but will be back on Monday with a new version.  Sorry folks, not the outcome we wanted the development Gods didn't favor us today.

    Thanks!
UPDATE: we're up for a few more hours tonight, not a new version though.

  10. Thank you for your patience. All issues are resolved and the LIVE service is now Live!

When you run the patcher the first time please click on the repair icon (the wrench next to the green button), so that your installation will be completely verified.

Thanks and sorry for the unexpected down time!
