Yes, this game lacks of necromancer.

And a class with a pet too. Maybe he can be ranged, while his animal can attack at melee.

And something that puts totems that gives boons too.

And maybe something like a shadow healer.

And somethign that is a tank a healer or a dps all togheter.

And a class that can transform itself in animals, like a wolf, a bear or a panter.

And a master in martial arts.

Damn, this would be so cool, I wish a game already had some of  this clases.

    This thread is hilarious

You guys are ok with a degrading system so bow and weapons in general have some kind of obligatory regeneration and crafting. You are ok with a system that makes you have to get new weapons each x time. So, going to city, gathering wood, crafting new bows each x time, etc.

Yet, getting arrows is too " annoying and tedious "....

This is not about getting or not finite arrows, it's about comodity.

If you want to sit down in a corner and keep shooting arrows for the rest of the day, go play an arena. This game is based on campaigns, with resource gathering, and strategical warfare where infinite arrows would add nothing but arrow spam.

As I said before, making infinite arrows would fence the arrow value and damage. Having infinite arrows means they wouldn't let us use the bow as a war strategic weapon. The bow will be used only as a long melee weapon, since the range of the bow shouldn't be too high to prevent infinite arrow spam.

By making arrows infinite, you are totally destroying another layer of strategy, that can be developed individually, or by group. And the only reason for this is comodity?..

I rather craft tons of arrows than tons of bows

PS: Using only 1 kind of weapon is stupid ( for not saying an inerty of comodity), even in wow hunters had ranged and melee weapons.

You can even set that the arrows deals lots more of damage. Like, realistic damage when one gets throught your head. If there is a dodging system, and another system so that a bow's acuracy depends on the player's skills and the character skill points, bow will only get overpowered in the more skilled player's hands. And if the physics works well, you can block these arrows with a shield, or a good armor.
An if arrows are of good quality they will do more damage and pierce the armors easily, depending on their composition.

Overpowered, but easily counterable, and hard to get.

And what if you get out of arrows? well, if they don't make imposible for a person with hands and arms to take a bow and a sword - not at the same time..-, or whatever, anybody could use a bow, and have a sword in case of, like everyone did in real life.
The infinite system is only because nobody wanted to think about a great system who works properly. Don't be lazy, make things well     PS: nobody here played pen & paper rpgs? you guys need to see more world than Wow and runescape. Oh wait, no, arrows in runescape were actually finite

There is a custard enormous quantity of mmorpg players, yet, we think we are all the same.

This is like if you were trying to make a pie. And, because you have a little bit of experience, and, lets say, cranberries pies are your favorites, you decide to do sell them for the people.

And then people start approaching and tasting " mmyeah, not bad" , " tastes like cranberries, I like cranberries I like this ", " I like pie, I like this "

And then, there's the custard kid who goes with " I don't like cranberries " On which the normal response would be:  then don't eat it, you piece of s..

But, what happens? You try to please every one, so you decide that, to please the little kid that doesn't likes cranberries, you will make strawberries pies.

Then, of course, pie lovers are still around, those who like strawberries are pleased, and those who prefered cranberries are let down, but they are still hungry and there isn't much more on the table so they eat it.

What happens? than there is another kid that say " I don't like strawberries. I want chocolate "

But, man you know there are a lot of red fruits and berries lovers. You want to sell, so you do a strawberries-chocolate pie.

But then you see a group of banana lovers.

    Strawberry banana chocolate pie!

What? there are people who are saying the flavour starts to feel cloying. Lets add kiwi for some refreshing acidity!

And after months of wimps, you get the same as when you blended all the colours to make an awesome new color when you were little: excrement brown

And in the same way, we have had gw2, with a pve system totally free of pvp to please the gonzos, a world vs world to please the hardcore pvpers, and arena to please competition.

Or archeage, with safe zones for gonzos, pvp zone hardcore players ( but you can play the game without stepping on them ), and labor point system to limit the time you can spend on the time to please those who have a life. But then those who don't, want lp potions, and to please them they put p2w potions, and etc

Or tera, with an amazing combat system to please everyone... and nothing else.

And you can blame the producers all you want. How many gonzos/hardcore players have we seen in this forum?  Why don't we finally got some balls to say, we are not the same, we don't like the same things, we are not the same kind of gamers

And, most important: WE DON'T NEED EACH OTHER

Really, i'm tired of seeing a game, that seems, lets say, hardcore, and hear people braging it's too hardcore* THEN  WHY DO YOU COME HERE

Or people in this forum, forum of a game that is suposed to be diferent, yet make suggestions to have the same thing other games have. THEN WHY DO YOU COME HERE

    * The same applies to pve games like gw2 who are almost only pve, and yet we hear problems with not enough pvp. THEN  WHY DO YOU COME HERE

Or people who like progresion going to an arcade, or people who doesn't like progression, yet enters a game and blames it is too hard to level up. Or those who comes to a pvp game, and say they want to farm without being ganked....

Really, stop it. We people are destroying the mmorpg industry only by fear. Fear of failing, fear of diversity, fear of changes....

The best game that existed until now ( eve, lineage2, wow, uo, more i don't know/remember ) where games that weren't created following the community opinions. They were created by a group of friends, who wanted to share something.

The genuinity of their creation is based on their talents AND their taste and criteria. If you follow the taste and criteria of the average, you will have an average game. You will have a mediocre game.

And btw, if you really think mmorpg are failing, you are clearly blind. They make a lot of money. And they are making a lot of money from us.

It's nice to know people and to recognize names we know, but, in a serious note, when it comes to pvp it is really... well, dumb. And more if the devs are trying to make a good stealth system -hum humnotinvisibilityplshum-hum... you might try to avoid this:

So please, if you are going to make a nice and beautifull , what was the word, visceral? world, take this in consideration.

It's pretty lame to go in a big fight and see this:

    Honestly, no I wouldn't.

A game's user interface is extremely important, it is the link that draws the player into the world, creates the immersion, and ultimately defines the gameplay of the game it self. I generally don't like addOns, even ones that just give information, because it changes the way a player views the game, and makes it different from what the developers intended.

As a wonderful example I give you Deadly Boss Mobs for WoW. It completely changed the way a person interacts with the challenging fights in the game, even though it was just info. To me it took away the fun of experiencing the fight for the first time, and learning to react to the queues that the developers themselves put in the game. Of course guilds quickly started requiring it for the raiders because they wanted every advantage they could get in completing the raid.

I'm not passing judgement, but as one of two chicks who who write code at my company, it's hard to hear "we need more women in the game industry" when the problem is self reinforcing. You see, women are less interested in the game industry because they don't grow up playing the same games that you or I played, and part of that has to do with representation and marketing. So if the solution to that problem is to have more women in the game industry, it's pretty silly to make such a shallow statement.

Well, if I don't know about the princess obsesion with body image, it will be dificult for me to find anything ironic about it.

But since I plegde in favor to take in care the consideration of those who doesn't like some sexualization tendence, I think it isn't ironical, but perfectly placed.

The problem is not having or no boob plates. The problem is seeing them as a must, like in tera. With no other options. And, I don't find that an ill, but yes a problem. And having known people with eating disorders, why not, adding the diana case, I think when people argue against this discusion because it is " saving the whales", well, it's then when I get ill.

It's so simple has giving more options, and not tending to "boobs because it atires men." Just to not influence the youngers.

I'm not sure you can approach anything apolitically. This is a form of media, it is influenced by the opinions and world of the people who make said media. It's a feedback loop, and we must always be aware that no stance is the stance of status quo. To not push ourselves, to not strive to do better is to stagnate. Stagnation is bad for everyone, not just myself and not just for women but the industry as a whole.
