  1. 45 seconds to 1 minute is an eternity in active combat. If it lasts longer than that both opponents are most likely very skilled or have a ton of defensive, cc or utility skills that allow for drawn out fights. Personally, I love it when I can fight someone and it lasts for a minute or 2. It's usually an extremely good 1v1 fight. If you're looking at making TTK 1-2 minutes then when you fight someone who is equally skilled, equipped, etc, you're looking at a 3-4 minute fight easy. That's over and above too long in my opinion.
  2. Skewing off onto a tangent... Sarah McLachlan is immortal. She's like Keanu Reeves. Look at a pic from 1997 and one from today. Immortal.
  3. Mercenary. Because Badass Mother*&^%er isn't a job title, it's a lifestyle.
  4. That's what testing is for. That's why there are alphas and betas. Right now everyone has an opinion of what's on paper, but we will have to see it in practice to determine if modifications are needed. Patience, grasshopper.
  5. It depends on your definition of high end. I put together a new PC every 4 years. Why? Because I purchase high end and it doesn't start showing it's age until around 4 years later. Currently (built in March 2014), I'm running an i7-4930K, 32GB RAM, 256GB SSD for my OS Drive and 600GB for my program installs and, my biggest regret, a GTX Titan Black video card....which will probably need to be swapped earlier for a pair of snappy whatever is hot to run in SLI prior to Crowfall being released. If those specs aren't at least close to the 'recommended' in 2 years let alone minimum, I'd be qui
  6. Pann, minor editing note: At the same time, we will also be launching two-factor authentication (2FA) to allow you to secure your account with a secondary device (i.e. your PC or mobile phone.) Our 2FA system will work very much like the implementations that areused for other popular MMOs. Need a space between are and used there.
  7. The Goa'uld from Stargate SG-1 had shields that reacted to the amount of kinetic energy behind a projectile. Bullets would just bounce off, but something like a thrown knife would be able to penetrate. Always liked that kind of thing.
  8. In my opinion, all that should be required is the ability to have a space in your name. That's it. If you can't come up with an original name, combination of names or someone beats you to it, tough titty said the kitty. Do you really need to be Gandalf, Legolas, Aragorn, Raistlin, Caramon, Drizzt, Soth or....Leeroy? Come up with your own identity. Maybe I've just been playing MMOs too long. Maybe I've spent hours combing through myths, legends, gods and goddesses to find suitable names for my characters. If that's too much effort and you absolutely have to be Kardashian the
  9. I enjoy time limited stealth. It encourages people to shift in and out, develop tactics, timing and syncing with ability cooldowns, etc. You can't just sit there permastealthed and wait for someone to wander by or hunt some one down. In GW2 a couple of good stealthers could tie up quite a few people by working together and weaving in and out of stealth to harass.
  10. I'd play the hell out of a sentient bear: Badass feline: Or dragon: There are so many ways to go besides human. I hope ACE will flesh out a few more for those of us that favor something off the beaten path.
  11. At the beginning, sure, things would need to be discovered. Eventually, the patterns would be discerned and put up somewhere. There's no such thing as true randomization, there's always a pattern and people will find it. Oh, you have this valley that's procedurally generated with a river winding through it? That means that at the top of the mountain to the west "x" will be there. The mystique and mystery will only last so long. People much smarter than I will put in the time and effort to figure it out and they'll post it. Humans love a challenge and finding the pattern will certa
  12. 6th bullet point down: Use of stored currency in store (this is a pre-cursor to being able to sell back certain items for store credit, or to build your own lay-away plan which has been requested)
  13. Well, now we know what distracts Tully.....release the hounds!
  14. Put a monitor on the wall with an animated tropical beach scene or something....ooo...projection screen ala Total Recall or Back to the Future II would work as well.
  15. It would be interesting to see a group of Guinnies that have formed their own subculture. An Eyass (falcon chick) and a Guinnie pup raised together to be a team from birth. Best of friends, valuable allies and crazy effective on the battlefield.
  16. I like the idea of a 'ganking' archetype. Whereas I would classify it as a burst archetype. Someone that can blow all their cooldowns for a massive burst, but if the target has mitigation/presence of mind to avoid them, it would leave the burst archetype vulnerable if they couldn't seal the deal. The counter to a burst archetype is one that would have solid mitigation and sustained damage. Draw out the fight and the burst archetype will lose due to their lower health and whatnot. Sure they'll have some defensive capabilities (i.e.: dodge) but once they are blown they either need to ret
  17. Who wants some? You! Do you want some? Huh? You want a little?
  18. Friday is the release of Avengers 2: Age of Ultron. They're doubling up to get work out on Thursday so Friday will be free. Coincidence? I think not!
  19. Being able to breed pack animals, i.e.: pack pigs that could move 10% faster, carry 20%, etc. would be excellent. War mounts, farm animals, etc. Totally on board with this.
  20. CopperStall started a thread under the Suggestion Box here: http://community.crowfall.com/index.php?/topic/5644-minimum-alpha-content/ And I started a similar one here: http://community.crowfall.com/index.php?/topic/6179-thoughts-for-alphabeta-testing/ Trying to give suggestions which would aid not only the developers in obtaining a good amount of feedback, but make the testing a bit more enjoyable from our perspective. It doesn't need to be a job and if you enjoy what you're doing it never is one.
  21. We all know it's not your post count that matters. It's backer badges!
  22. You should have the option to hide certain things from prying eyes. The one caveat to that is: how many whispers do you want to deal with asking you where you got that <super shiny thingy>? Knowing that crafters are going to be putting their marks on the wares, that I'd be more than happy to allow people to view...if they were allies. My stats/skills/etc I'm not a big fan of showing off at all. Now if there were some kind of discipline rune that gave people a way to see from a tactical perspective I could get behind that. It means they would have to sacrifice something else for t
