If you get killed over and over, it's not the game that's not balanced...you're a bad player.

45 seconds to 1 minute is an eternity in active combat.  If it lasts longer than that both opponents are most likely very skilled or have a ton of defensive, cc or utility skills that allow for drawn out fights.

Personally, I love it when I can fight someone and it lasts for a minute or 2.  It's usually an extremely good 1v1 fight.  If you're looking at making TTK 1-2 minutes then when you fight someone who is equally skilled, equipped, etc, you're looking at a 3-4 minute fight easy.  That's over and above too long in my opinion.

Waikikamukau got a reaction from Santovenia in Reversible choices, or 'respecs'
I like the idea of respecs but people seem to be looking at them the wrong way when it comes to Crowfall.

EvE (the only other game I can think of that has time-based skill training) allows respecs but it's reallocating points into stats.

    It's called neural remapping: https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Neural_remapping

We may get something similar in Crowfall but, like EvE, I wouldn't expect it from the get go.  This was something that CCP added in years later.  Those of us on the ground floor will be the ones others will have to learn from.  Someone will stumble upon the "min/max" for a particular class and will be emulated.

Personally, having characters in EvE that are 12-13 years old now with hundreds of millions of skill points...I've never used a remap.  I played in beta and knew the direction my 2 characters were going to take.  What attributes correlated to what skills and made my decisions.   In 2003 and 2004.

Plan.  Calculate.  Anticipate.  But most of all, play what you WANT to play and not what is the OMGWTFBBQ420NoScopeFOTM.

The respecs probably will come, but in all likelihood they will be minor tweaks that can give an advantage rather than a major tweak like changing from one advanced class to another.

If you are put off to a game by reading its forums...that would probably be every MMO out there.

Forums are full of trolls, boasters, whiners, complainers and generally people you would want to pat...on the head...with a hammer (and yes, I realize I'm on a forum right now writing a post).

There is always going to be PvE/PvP hate.  Who are 'they'?  Those who are not us.

Hardcore.  Casual.  Raider.  PvPer.  It doesn't matter who you are or what you enjoy, there will always be a group that will not like you.

"You can be the ripest, juiciest Peach in the world and there's still going to be somebody who hates Peaches." -Dita Von Teese

Ultimately, you have to do what pleases you.  If you're a casual and you can carve out a place for yourself in a PvP-Centric game, more power to you.  Do you, boo boo, do you.

Love the looks.  Absolutely fabulous concepts.

As a complete non-artist, merely looking at the aesthetics, I would say the transition from spring to summer to fall is great but the winter doesn't seem...enough to convey the menace of the most dangerous transformation of the creature.  There are sizeable transformations (color, deterioration, crystal progression) from spring to summer to fall but winter is a more subtle final push than the previous.  Something more skeletal...bone white I think would be incredible and make it pop a bit more.  Again this is the impression of a non-artist eye.  So feel free to tell me to shut it.

    1. These things exist in real life. And yet, in group battles, fights very rarely last more than a minute. That's because while you're looking at Badguy A to dodge his attack, Badguy B brains you from behind.

    2. see my response to point 1

It's kinda funny. They say they want to balance for team battle, but there is no balancing for team battle. There is no way to know how the chaos will flow once the fight is engaged. Your best fighter could get killed by the weakest guy on the other team because he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. That is what a real battle is like. How do you "balance" that? And, if that isn't what fights in Crowfall will be like, what the heck will they be? Chivalrous engagements where we politely only attack the guy who is looking at us? Gag me.

I really hate you guys right now.  I already want to play my Guinea Pig and Murder Deer...now I'm leaning towards the Centaurs as well.  I don't want too many alts in this game.

You really need to cut back on that quality.
