    1. Please don't make jumping consume food. Some of us love to jump spontaneously.

    2. Give us a key bind to consume food automatically drawn from our inventory(that is smart enough to prevent making us over eat and waste food)

The game needs to be optimized, and for that to happen, we need to be in the game world, hence the "Big World" update. Right on course.

TC - who is responsible for "damage splitting" and when will they be punished?!?! Seriously though, why damage splitting? In Shadowbane synching up AoE's could really turn the tide of a battle for a smaller coordinated group fighting against a larger, less coordinated, zerg. Why change that in Crowfall? How does the game benefit from damage splitting?

After last night's play test there were a number of complaints about the feeling of combat.

I think a lot of this was because people were playing Ranger for the first time. The ranger is a class based on mobility but most abilities root the ranger in place while charging or waiting for the animation to finish.

Ultimately I think EVERY class needs to be able to default attack (left click) while moving the same as the knight/champion were allowed to last night.

I played the knight quite a bit last night after trying out the ranger and the knight felt so fluid while being able to attack on the run.

Ultimately here's what I think you need to strive for:

    - Instant Default attacks can be used at "full movement speed"
    - Charged attacks or special attacks can be used at "walking or strafing movement speed".

Instant default attacks would be like the knights left click, confessors left click, champions left click, legio's left click, etc. For the Ranger I think you need to let them pop off low damage arrows on the run but if you start charging the arrow THAT is when you move into a walking/strafing speed. This allows you to still have some movement while using a special attack, combo, or charged attack.

I believe the dev's said it before, but the reason you don't want ALL attacks to be able to execute at full movement speed is you'll end up with all the lame zig zagging in combat that just looks really funky. Some people like this (Darkfall rings a bell) however I know that's something these developers don't want to do. I think they want this game to be more like Tera as far as aimed combat goes and not quite so twitchy as say Darkfall.

Anyways, that's my 2 cents on the subject.

I think most MMOs have been created because a studio decides "to do an MMO" without a lot of forethought.

If out of arrows, being forced to go into ranged stance over and over to regen energy seems like a mistake still.

At first, I was concerned about rangers having a primary attack that roots them in place. I am still am, but I also have solutions in mind trying to keep within the Philosophy for this game. A big part of that philosophy is TERA style gameplay where making an attack commits you to being in a particular position, that opponents can read, and respond to. The combos balance this out by giving players a little unpredictability. Instead of free movement, a skilled player knows I can exit a combo or continue on with options A, B, or C.

There are a few different scenarios the ranger will need to be viable in. The ranger looks to be already designed to be strong when playing from a protected ranged position, but we also want the ranger to be viable in a ranged v ranged battle, and when confronted directly by a melee opponent. I don't mean favorable, I really mean that they have options. One problem I foresee is the predictability of the skill that rolls the ranger backwards, it would be great to see a branched combo that has them leap forward after leaping back and strike into melee again.

The ranger looks fantastic as a first pass. I believe some players are not anticipating playing a ranger, and are fearful of it gaining too many pieces of the combat pie. Archery is very serious business after all. If anyone followed ESO when bows were revealed to not function like projectiles, players were outraged. That is because games like Skyrim and Chivalry make archery seem so fun, players want that in their MMO. I am one of those people, but I tried TERA, and the truth is, that gameplay minimizes free movement. One class can't diverge entirely from that philosophy.

Approxy got a reaction from JamesGoblin in Vessel System & Crafting
Thomas Blair has discussed skill leveling on Podcasts and has talked about how EVE skill leveling to complete all skills takes 26(?) years. I might be off a few years. Anyways, that is the example he gave for his hopes for Crowfall.  This was by no means an official number, just some early comparisons to what they are thinking. He also threw out an example that he hopes to have something like 1500 skills for Crowfall, that too is a very rough goal. Vessels are part of the balancing. Vessels will limit skills from functioning beyond a certain value, so even though older players have higher skills, they won't always be able to utilize them at full values.

According to the new system announced, an account can only be training one general skill at a time. So, a player could mix and match, have some combat and some crafting skills at the same time, but couldn't fully focus in both. Any effort into crafting will take something away from pure combat builds and vice versa. Everyone must choose. In my opinion, this is going to make crafters even more valuable since (in my opinion) most players won't want to give up their ability to fight.

It will literally take decades to master both crafting and combat, so I do think a choice is required. In a way, the choice is actually more real now. Now, a player cannot do both.

This system is going to confuse and scare away a lot of people that see this system as piling onto the death penalty. But I would encourage those people to consider some things.

    - Players will be able to grab basic vessels easily
    - Vessels aren't just something that will be taken away from you, you can also accumulate them too
    - We don't know how often players are going to die, games with corpse looting encourage players to be careful and you might be able to keep a vessel for quite some time
    - Carrying and transporting loot might be something meaningful, and you might not always lose all your stuff (I love Elder Scrolls for this reason, the game allows you to loot anything, but looting everything is a bad idea because you can't possibly carry everything)
