  1. so for some reason this posted twice as seperate threads and this one didn't post with everthing i said. this is missing from OP: What if in my EK I built an arena and people could pay to enter and teams would fight for a prize pool while spectators can bet on which team they wont to win meanwhile the EK can tax the whole thing.
  2. (I have only read the first page of this thread) To me, as some one who loves hardcore PvP but is far more excited about EK's due to my love of PolySim, the problem lies in the Dregs rule set. Don't get me wrong I really like the dregs rule set in theory. For me the EK's are a place to not only craft, and buy/sell wares but also a place to further political pursuits, Every respectable guild is going to have those players that are 90% there just to handle the politics that is involved in CW's but the thing about politics is that it doesn't go away when the CW world gets destroyed. As leadership of my guild I should be able to through festivals in my EK where people from other EK's come to visit and celebrate, trade wares and cross swords in arenas. Durring these festivals you bet i am going to invite rank holding members of other known guild to further my relation ship with them to better my guilds chance of winning the political game that is played within the CW's. Of course for all this to work out that means that regular players and hardcore pvp players need to have in interest in EK's to populate such festivals and to provide business for traders, This is where the Dregs 0% import becomes a massive block on the function of EK's. Personally I like the dregs but I doubt Ill spend time in it compared to the Shadows, the guild v guild ruleset, or any other one because it facilitates teams and factions where politics play a large part in the CW but there is still a place for hardcore PVP players in that environment. I guess to sum it up I don't think that PVP players and PolySim players, like myself, Should be at opposite sides of some war over how the game works but rather should join together to complement each other because in CF both player types are important. I'm not saying every player needs to spend time in EK's I'm fine having those players who are just tenants in an EK and show up every three months to store loot and trade wares all I'm saying is if the majority of high skill level players spend all there time in the dregs the game gets ruined for high skill level polySim players and more than that kills all hope of the EK's existence.
  3. This makes me sad, i had always assumed that my different characters could live in different EK's
  4. I for one am not in favor of the barter system and whether I decide to run my own EK or join someone else's I will not be a part of one that does not have a currency. So what makes up a currency? Well there are a few traits: 1. Durable ( likely not a concern in CF ) 2. Divisible i.e I can break $20 in two $10 dollar bills and so on 3. Convenient, Which is why we have paper money because it folds and fits in wallets or pockets 4. Consistant 5. must posses value, paper currency actually dosen't fit this trait rather things like the gold standerd 6. Must be limited or have an amount of rarity, which is why we can't use things like sea shells because they are to plentiful. 7. A History of acceptance. It is surprisingly hard to find a currency that fits all seven traits But for the sake of crowfall I don't see why we can't use Raw ore, or coins made out of varying rarities of ore like maybe the tope 3 or middle three in rarity. These fit most of the traits, though not all of them. The only thing left is to have large guild or EK's to accept the same currency as a standard or "National currency." If the top ten or maybe twenty EK's all use the same currency then it becomes easy for others to use the same currency and then for merchants and smiths to price things accordingly. I know guilds already exist for CF and even without that why not gather as much player/Guild support as we can behind one single form of currency?
  5. Honestly those backers that don't have access to alpha testing will have lost hype tell it gets closer to the time where they will get access to the game. I virtually stopped paying CF any attention after February 2015 and only started being active again in the last 2 months as pre-alpha started winding up.
  6. to start I don't know if ACE had any plans for the hunger dome game type when launch comes around but a thought came to mind. What if in my EK I built an arena and people could pay to enter and teams would fight for a prize pool while spectators can bet on which team they wont to win meanwhile the EK can tax the whole thing.

  8. Not sure yet but this will likely be me
  9. unless it barely moves at this point im about out of the running
  10. In reality if every EK used the same coin as there currency there would still be a difference in value based on the local economy. For example US dollars and Euros are both just pieces of paper with numerical values attached yet 10 dollars and ten Euros are far from the same value. in essence you still have different values in different places
  11. I was just thinking that it might be a good idea after we reach the next stretch goal to direct any potential backers to paypal so that EU can have servers. Personally I'm NA so it doesn't directly effect me in anyway I just thought it would be nice.
  12. you don't have to really interact with the rest of the EK's you can just be a tennant who comes to drop gear maybe shop and then go back to a campaign. in fact this model almost relies on the existence of people like you. Personally I will be spending almost an even amount of time in EK's and campaigns as the idea of being a king or even jut a noble entices me greatly. One of the main reasons I am drawn to CF is because of the player interaction and for that sake the EK's do nothing but facilitate that.
