Nephal reacted to Duffy in [=CC=] Corvus Citadel
    Lore Version
“It was an easy choice. To chase the secrets of the universe, to see worlds beyond the one of my birth. To walk with gods. To live, learn, and fight for countless lives. Or, I could face oblivion. Who could say no? Eternity, a small price to pay.” - Conn Agon Caelus, Founder
Corvus Citadel is a bastion of knowledge, a grand library among the Eternal Kingdoms.  It stands as a monument to our patron, Yaga, goddess of all things known and unknown.  Our goal, nay our purpose, is to ease the passing of worlds by preserving their memory within these hallowed walls. All manner of myths, histories, and secrets may be found here. But heed our warning: knowledge is power and the right words in the wrong ear can shatter worlds or kill a god.

The Corax Council, our leaders, convene in the Hall of Ravens, atop the Citadel. Guiding the Crowguard in war and sending their Seekers to worlds on the cusp of doom. Where the Seeker's white ravens soar, the council is watching, and the Crowguard’s legions are not far behind.

Though our core tenets favor Yaga, and many of us are her crows, upon the mountain you will find temples to the other gods of Chaos. Malekai, venerated almost as much as Yaga, maintains a hidden temple rumored to contain untold secrets. Seek it out at your own risk, entry will not come cheap. Cults of Zaleena the temptress, Kane the Ostracized, Hero the First, and even Kronos, Lord of Time, also reside among us.

At the base of the mountain, visitors will be greeted by the Jackdaw Market. Offering for trade what resources and trinkets could be saved from dying worlds. If it can be made it can be found among our craftsman's stalls, just ask the nearest thrall if you need assistance.

If you seek knowledge, artifacts, or to join us in our great purpose, the way to the Citadel is open.
    Practical Version
    Who are we?
We’re a group of mature (mainly in age but also a little bit in personality) players ranging from hardcore to casual that enjoy tailoring our theme and interests to the game’s lore. While we’re not dedicated in-character role-players, we do like to keep a consistent theme. We’ll be theming around and supporting the Chaos faction when appropriate. We're primarily based in North America and will be playing on the NA servers, but we are open to any interested in playing on said servers.
    Who should join us?
We’re open to those interested in any aspect of the game with any level of commitment. Whether you traditionally consider yourself hardcore, casual, or something in between; if you want to help we can find a place for you. We like to have fun and don’t mind more casual players, but when it’s go time we like to be serious too. If you’re going to participate in our higher level strategy and organized campaign efforts we expect you to be able to follow orders when the time comes.
We only have two general rules:
    1. Respect your fellow players (aka Don’t be a prick)
    2. Respect the chain of command when it it’s time to be serious
    How are we organized?
Currently we’re maintaining a single guild, Corvus Citadel, but planning for the possibility to maintain multiple core guilds depending on any guild mechanics or limitations revealed later in the game's development. The Citadel's ranks are based on purpose: the Corax Council is our highest level leadership - they guide the citadel's overarching agenda. Seekers are the Council's direct agents among the dying worlds, commanding troops, managing logistics, and engaging in diplomacy with other guilds. The Crowguard is our core body that not only makes up our fighting strength but also handles the majority of our gathering and manufacturing. Most of our members will be found among the guard. Depending on growth we may subdivide the Crowguard into Legions, each under a Seeker to form quasi-independent commands, time will tell. We will be accepting sub-guilds interested in pledging to the Citadel. Sub guilds will have the option of being placed into our command structure or keeping their own command as auxiliaries. While we’ll expect auxiliaries to accept some guidance and cooperate with the the rest of the Citadel’s forces, less organizational demands will be expected of them.
Where can you find us in game?
We'll be maintaining our Eternal Kingdom, Corvus Citadel (based around a Mountain Citadel plot), as a community hub open to all. Whether you come to trade, find information, or just to hang out, the door will always be open. Many of us are very crafting minded and we hope to build a thriving marketplace right at the entrance to the Citadel, making quick visits as convenient as possible for shoppers. As the above lore section implies, we will have a strong focus on the gods of Chaos, you’ll find a set of Cathedrals dedicated to them throughout the mountain. Depending on how those mechanics work out we may expand to include more of the pantheon into our theme and day to day play.
    Finally...
If any of this sounds interesting and you'd like to join our guild or pledge as a sub-guild you can hop in our discord and drop Duffy a private message indicating your intent or drop us an email at corvus.citadel@gmail.com, I will of course also answer any questions posted in this thread. Portions of our discord are open to the general public so if you just want to hang out and say hello (or eventually maybe do some trading), feel free to stop on by. If you have already talked to one of our officers about joining and have not yet received an invite, you can request an invite via our Guild Profile.
    Wait there’s more!
We're not only seeking information in-game but providing it out of game as well. Some of our members are working on private and publicly accessible tools for Crowfall players.

    Scarlett Trading Company

Scarlett Trading Company going into Dregs will be a neutral mercenary guild. Guild neutrality provides us with a more unique experience than can be found within a standard guild-versus-guild group: paid allies today, may be paid enemies tomorrow. Like many guilds returning and preparing for the upcoming Dregs patch, we are looking to build up and expand our core group. If providing neutral and currency-based services, while being beholden to only ourselves appeals to you, STC may be of interest.

If the idea of tactics and outside-the-box planning, along with a comprehension of the OODA loop and maneuver warfare intrigue you as to combat preparedness; STC may be a good fit. We are always looking at combat compositions; where classes and combinations shine, and where they might falter--or compositions that might be overlooked and undervalued. Due to this, we are always asking, “What if…”, which we think helps provide a fresh perspective in the game’s combat system, and helps prevent it from growing stale. We aren’t afraid of trying out new compositions, and putting them through their paces, even if it fails: in this is knowledge, and knowledge only makes us better.

We understand how morale plays such an important and impactful part of a group’s cohesion. It’s what helps keep a tight knit group together in tough times, where others fall apart. Morale is just as important in a battlefield and strategic operations, as it is in ensuring a healthy guild. STC’s primary purpose in Crowfall, is to have fun.

We think the fun aspect, comes in two parts: the first being highly proficient in what we do in the game; and the second, in providing a social place where you look forward to spending your free and available time. Having excitement for the game and what we can accomplish within it--by our on goals--is what helps keep that fire alight; all with the understanding that sometimes, you don’t feel like logging in. Burning yourself out isn’t fun, nor is playing to another’s demanded schedule; we only want you to play, when you actually possess that desire. If we’ve done it right, hopefully you’ll always feel that little push, to log in.

If any of this appeals to you, you have any manner of follow-up questions, or you would like to contract STC we invite you to drop by our Discord https://discord.gg/v2Zb6TZ. From there, please seek out ZombieGandhi, or Sophia Scarlett, as we’d be glad to answer any questions you have.

Sure! Give me a few minutes to try and track it down.
    Edit:
@pamintandrei I got an answer! It's a craftable item under the Runemaking recipes. You will need to have the Runemaking discipline equipped and at a Runemaking crafting station to show the recipe to craft it.

Going to follow up on this.
White tools will give you 4 experimentation pips to work with which you can max out quickly. (Don't worry about durability rolls) If your not looking for sub effects,(+crit chance etc),  slag/knott/cobble is good enough to make a 4 pip tool. You can hit -22 with 4 pips. The negative here is confusing. It's a node armor reduction, so it's a minus, but really ACE needs to flip this so it's obviously better. You can get a better average on the results of 4 pips by training the experimentation success line at the top.  The better the value, the more damage it will do to the node through the armor.  Some nodes really need a high score (rank 7+), while some are fine with just about any tool. I divide based on +/- 15, with anything above 25 being "good". Green will give you 7 total pips, and a subsequent higher bonus average, but you need the more pips training line. You "can" get a tool to upgrade from white to green at the cost of 1/5 of a green wood through the parchment.  If your into gambling, that's the way to do it. More frequent success at that cheap upgrade comes from the combine training line. I personally never waste green ore on a tool, nor dust on re-rolls. (Same dust as one re-roll will roll multiple tools)
I will use green wood on parchment and stone on blanks, and only use green stone blanks on the green runes that are a lucky roll. (Green stone coming from surplus caused by mineral motherload farming.)
    Cheers

Yes, the various kebab recipes give +1 plentiful to ore, stone, etc.
The skill training is under exploration. The very first node of the Excavation tree gives you +1 to ore, stone and graves. If you want more plentiful ore, for example, you need to go into the Ore Specialization tree. There are 5 branches, one for each type of ore. Each branch has nodes that give a total of +2 plentiful for that specific type of ore.

Plentiful harvest stats cap at 5 pips, or points, or whatever you want to call them. When you target a harvesting node, you will see a number of diamonds in the tooltip. That represents your plentiful harvest number with that particular node.
If you open your character sheet, click on the details button and go to the Explore tab, you can see all of your harvesting stats.
For plentiful harvest, you get 1 by default, and then there are buffs/debuffs based on the seasons. +2 for sprint, +1 for summer, -1 for fall and -2 for winter.
You can get a total of +3 from skill training. You can get +1 from the harvesting majors and you can get +1 each from potions and food. No matter how many sources you have, you can't have more than 5. That is the cap. So, fully trained in spring, using the appropriate major plus potions and food, you will still be at 5.

    Foreword
A while ago i made a Stronghold Comparison to show and discuss how big Strongholds will be in Crowfall. Though mostly based on rough estimations and a lot of calculations, the numbers turned out to be pretty good.
Now, with the opportunity to take measures within the BigWorld test environment, the possibilities of calculations rose as much as the curiosity how the dimensions of parcels will feel and how the world will look like finally.
In this thread i will try to juxtapose parcels that we have seen seperated and from a bird's-eye perspective (like concept arts) or mixed up and from a worm's-eye view (like in the BigWorld test).
Please note that those are NOT the real things. Based on given informations, these 3D parcel pictures are roughly self-made emulations, so they won't be perfect. But they should be good enough to give a general idea.
After some basic informations for newcomers, i will start with the most important stronghold parcels and show you how they look like, compared with each other and the actual BW 3.4 test environment, and will add new informations and pictures from time to time.
    Have fun, good luck
    Kraahk

    Basic informations
For those who are not into geomancy, some basic informations.
Parcels are the modules our worlds are made of. Each parcel contains one or more quadratic cells with a side-legth of 256 meter each. Crowfall uses basic maps with a scope of 20x20 cells. In the case of Campaigns, several procedurally compiled basic maps will be stitched together to build the whole world. In case of Eternal Kingdoms, players will have the opportunity to build their very own kingdom (they way they want to) within the frame of one basic map. Parcels and Strongholds can be bought in the shop. They can also be build out of ingame materials (if the necessary skills are trained - like stone masonry or geomancy) or shared or traded with other players in game. Parcels can be placed in other players kingdoms. Placing a parcel somewhere else doesn't change the ownerships. The same is true for building components like walls. So people can work together, without fear to loose something. Parcels and Strongholds support different number of players/shops, mostly depending on the parcel type and rank. The numbers show the estimated support provided by the basic version of this kind of parcel.

From Shire to Province - an overview
We have seen a lot of pictures and we ran more or less frenetically through the BigWorld. But we haven't seen the parcels side by side yet. In this picture you can see the most important parcel types, including their names and supported player base. Where known, i also added the related strongholds, roughly true to scale.

    Parcels compared to the world
It is nice to know how big parcels are if compared to others. But how big is this in game? To say: How will it feel? To answer this questions, we need something to compare an ingame feeling of scope with those dry pictures above. Since we have BigWorld testing, we can do that.
The following picture shows the big stronghold parcels side by side with the explorable BigWorld environment of the 3.4 Test. The Palace parcel (province 3) would swallow the whole swamp area + 2 Shire parcels + 2 Estate parcels. To see more ingame maps of the 3.x tests, you can visit my Crowfall Maps thread.
