Thanks for the video Tinnis. The art in game and the art on this piece is as different as it gets. Frozen, night, barren ground vs. comfortable, day, filled with nature.

This is my archetype!!! I'm so excited! I love how the abilities and such sound.

Now to be nitpicky. I agree with most others that this is a wow clone rogue but I disagree with others because I do not think that is a disappointment. I had a blast playing my wow rogue and would have a blast playing it again. Plus ACE did not promise new and revolutionary base archetypes. No they did not. What is amazing, that they did promise, is that each character will be unique with advantages, disadvantages, and disciplines. Perhaps 90% of the disciplines, advantages and disadvantages will be useless like the rune system in WoW but there is still the possibility of them creating unique ones where most of them are optimal. Plus they promised revolutionary everything else from new and unique campaigns every few months to building, to destruction, to trade and craftsmanship. They can't get as deep as WoW which has had over a decade of creating things but the things they do invest their resources in can be much needed improvements to MMOs.
Secondly the shading looks really off in the pictures. In the news feed picture it looks like she is sick and about to vomit because her forehead is purple but her hair is not in the shade at all. In the news page itself the shading of the first shot is off mostly on her neck and face area. With shadows being randomly assigned without there being a reason for that shadow or particularly in the neck area there is too much shadow because the shadow is much bigger than her neck.

I think I like the leather version of the male the best. The armour is dark and mysterious and would hide in the dark best.

One interesting consideration with a faction-based ruleset is that factions are inherently leaderless, meaning that no one controls who can or can’t join the faction. For this reason, the rules that govern how you build keeps and forts have to be streamlined to make sure that the game experience remains playable even without anyone leading each of the factions.
That means that strongholds will use a capture-and-rebuild mechanic. In these worlds, players will fight over the ruins of existing castles and will need to collect resources from neighboring “points of interest" (POIs), specifically mines, mills and quarries, to rebuild the defensive structures in those strongholds. These POIs will be heavily disputed, so be prepared to fight to gain (and maintain) control of them.

I wonder if this is a permanent change. It is another scale back the uniqueness of every battle. Friendly fire is off. Destruction seems like it has to be prefabricated like normal MMO's (every time a wall falls it falls in the exact same way no matter which angle you hit it). I wonder if this is due to inaccurate estimations of time and cost or the Unity engine just can't take it.
All in all though I am glad progress is being made though.

that clarifies it quite a bit. This difference is not not as exciting as unique abilities or different base move speed as it doesn't affect game play to the same degree but it is still nice to know for someone out there I'm sure . Thanks for the reply.

"The Assassin is our fastest archetype." This should be clarified. I assume the Legionaire will have the highest base speed as he is a horse. But a horse at full charge can't really turn and is not as nimble as a rogue.
So something along the lines of: "Although the Legionaire is our fastest Archetype, the Assassin is our most adaptable Archetype able to weave in and out of combat with much more ease and with many more options than the Legionaire."

    Hi everyone I'm vigil,
I joined Crowfall back during kick starter but quit until I could play the game. So I'm back now. I don't know how long or to what extent but I thought I should make a reintroduction.

I haven't crunched the numbers so I don't know about the first one. On your second thought: I don't know where you got that idea because I never said anything close to that. It sounds to me like you couldn't even see a game like that so I encourage you to imagine it.
I'm not looking for a different genre don't worry about that. And you're wrong about that not being a goal of the RPG genre. There is no one "goal" of the RPG genre; game makers can set whatever goals they want including having balanced pvp. Your point is just narrow minded.
I agree. I've played it and watched many hours. I hope the devs continue to not make it overpowering.
Estimated it. Taking 25% more damage and having to deal 25% more damage and so on seems as far as you can go while being fair. No I don't. I don't see why you think people need facts on an opinion piece. Sure it would make it better but does voicing concern have zero value to you? If you were about to fall off a cliff and didn't realize it and I told you to "watch out!" Would you reply "where's your facts?!" as you fall to your death? Would you demand I take a picture and send it to your cell phone? Would you demand I explain the physics of falling from a high height? Would you demand I list deaths from previous people who did not watch out? This is from my own experience with playing with others and why they don't experience it. I'm not going to list off my friends from all the MMOs I've ever played.

In my opinion all MMO's get this one thing wrong and it ruins everything else so that pvp is never as popular(fun) in this genre as others.

This is the uncle bob problem in mmos. Even in well made MMOs they don't take this into consideration during development. Someone or some guild edges out everyone else and starts one shotting or taking 50% of everyone else's health. All the rest of the players who don't have that power are bored because they have no chance of beating them. The people who kill everyone else are bored because they aren't challenged. Just like in Risk, the game is over but we're just waiting for it to end. And unfortunately MMO's can't change this once the game is out because they created entire systems based on this power difference which destroying would waste hundreds of man hours.
The max level player should never be more than 25% stronger than the soft cap or the easy to reach in terms of hours level or power.
No one likes it. Check out people other than me who are currently in MMOs like that and they'll tell you how annoying it is to be in that situation. People only like the thought of slaughtering their enemies. Once they actually do it; it gets boring quickly.
This also makes it so that the fun part of the game is 100s of hours away and is only fun for a little while. while other multiplayer games which are on an even level have tons of replayability.
    TL;DR
Massive difference in levels creates a boring uncle bob problem. Don't do it.
