    I did the same reinstall and ended up with the HTTP error so I couldn't log in.  Then added 2FA to my account thinking it may do something but no effect.

    Workaround for the launcher bug I just posted:
    The patcher does download a new patcher, with a new filename, in the same folder.  If, after running the patcher, and getting stuck at 100% you then close the installer, go to the folder where your live launcher is, and run CFLiveLauncher.exe instead of CFLauncher.exe you can get back into the game.
    I deleted CFLauncher.exe and updated my shortcut to use CFLiveLauncher.exe and all is well now.

    I happen to be looking at the skill tree when a skill was completing its 5th chunk.  I noticed that the timer on the skill reset to 1 min 40 sec instead of it completing while the "complete in" timer still had the last registered value (less than the next point timer).  It stopped counting down at that point and it took relaunching the client to register as complete so I could select another skill.  It might have been a delay in the communication back to the server but I had decided restarting was the easy way to select another skill..... so maybe not a bug.

    SOLVED -- I right-clicked and chose "run as administrator."  It had been loading and running fine after the initial patch and installation, so I didn't think I would need to do that again.  Gonna set it to run as admin all the time.

    Until all of the other systems for teams, guilds, and merchants are set, there is no reason to think anyone but the most hardcore gamers would achieve the peak equipment.  The division between crating and combat skills would also help level things out.  One person trying to do to much would limit the maxes of a min/max strategy.

    The thing about gear that is different in crowfall than other MMO's is that the gear we have is not permanent.  In other MMO's once you get the best gear in the game, you have it forever.  In crowfall, you have it until you get ganked by a group of the enemy team and they loot it off your corpse (in certain campaigns at least).  There's also item decay that ensures you can only repair your equipment so many times.
     
    So, gear will constantly be fluctuating.  If it takes 10 hours of gathering materials to craft a set of top tier gear, but only 2 hours to craft the next best set of gear I would probably go with the second best set simply because it may not be worth spending a huge amount of time getting the best gear when I know it will either be broken or stolen in the next week or so.
     
    it's fine for someone ends up with an overpowered set of gear, they're only going to have it for so long.

    my take on what has been said about POI is that they will be cranking out the basics of what is required to build structures and defense, therefore making it important to hold them to build.  It was stated in the interviews that player harvesting actions will create one type of resource that could be turned into another type by combining it.  This combined resource is what is used to build where the character harvested resource is used to craft.  So the quarry would be producing stone, the mines would be producing iron (or something equally simple for construction.)  This leaves the meaningful materials for crafting would have to be found by players.  So get out your pickaxe, we may all have to strike some rocks if we want to be geared come winter.
     
    Like so many things, I'm not sure this is how it is.  But thats my impression of what I have heard.

    So it seems we'll have Vendor Thralls to sell our stuff.  And probably/possibly player minted coins to buy our stuff.  What we need now are Purchase Order Thralls that will buy items from players with the coins its owner stocked it with.  Perfect circle, or triangle, or whatever.
     
    This will set up a full player run economic structure. We make the coins.  Coins are dispersed to others by us buying resources/materials for these coins. (technically, we'd be selling coins for specific resources)  Which then these others use to buy goods from still others.  Economics!

    I agree...
     
    They are implementing a physics engine, I think they would be cutting it short if momentum was not included in "basic movement".  The videos have hinted at this in saying that toons that run into each other and interact based on their size and mass.  In thinking of battle, being shoved around because someone ran into you at full speed, it changes the tactics when its possible to burst through a defensive line.
     
    The rest of parkour.... eh... it could be cool in a limited fashion for one or two character builds.  I don't see it as something the movement system should be designed around.  
     
    Some type of jumping or climbing has to be in the game, but I would not like to see everyone climbing everthing.

    If we are going to go for finite ammo, why also not introduce urination and defecation? This way if you don't properly manage your timers, when you run out of ammo and have to run away from the combat, you will appropriately s**t your pants.
