umm ... so there wasn't a recording made?

can someone explain WHY we did a twitch stream without recording especially since we knew there were difficulties?

AND since probably 90% of backers were at work when you livestream (can we do these later next time?) probably a lot want to see the recording

best bet is to just tape delay with youtube still i guess

    can someone explain this

I am already in a guild so I don't need all the guild stuff and was so happy that i could redeem it

i was planning on consuming my ruby today then i read this post

so what you are saying is that some folks got to redeem their unneeded guild stuff but now those of us who waited can't?

i would assume that the mountain citadel will come with AT LEAST a little more than twice the modular pieces as the large castle

i am basing this assumption on the price ratio of $1800:$800

    1) people would travel to buy my bio-engineered super pets
    2) you could make a name (and mega credits) for yourself by making rifles that did .001 more damage than anyone else
    3) the experimentation process that led to #2 and #1
    4) the resource system that led to #2 (rare and hard-to-find and never spawn again)
    5) resources with different advantages in different attributes (a rare link-steel aluminum might suck for making ship engine parts but make the best rifle barrels)
    6) repairing durability of your best equpiment (but still finite and perma-fail eventually)
    7) merging of the PvP crowd with the PvE crowd with the social crowd (cantinas and hospitals)
    8) player markets - auction bazaars (a game within a game)
    9) creature handling system (could train pets for others to use but they were limited)
    10) crafting

I'm no SWG expert. Only played for ~6 months.

With that caveat, in my recollection, it wast he way pets and taming was handled.

My lineup would be (in no particular order)  :
Player cities / housing in its entirety Player Driven Economy The outstanding PVP, and the politics that came with it.  BH / Jedi system. I was a pre-cu jedi, but loved the on edge feeling of being hunted by a BH, or doing the hunting. Limited lifespan of all items in game. This fueled my second bullet point.  Varying item stats. The rarity for someone to have an item with the exact same stats. Resources / Crafting  Buffing system in its entirety.
For the record, I played on Eclipse

SWG had the best "meta" systems of any game I've ever played. By "meta," I mean all the non-combat activities, things that can keep you busy and interested and immersed within the game outside all the pew-pew.  I am confident that Crowfall will have very good systems as well, considering Raph Koster and Blixtev are involved with the development. Note: I played well after the NGE.

    Resource spawning/harvesting
    Player housing/decoration/setting up shops
    All the crafting in general
    Entertainer buffing system
    Music/dance systems
Beastmaster/pet/mount incubation process (different than creature handler)
    Reverse Engineering/attachment creation
    Storyteller profession
Trying to find a competitive advantage keeping an eye on the vendor machines in-game and the server forums outside the game

Finally, AFK macros - obviously Crowfall won't have them and a lot of players hated them, but I found keeping one of my characters productively harvesting or looting while I was at work felt even more immersive to me. I would always jump in the game as soon as I got home to clean up my inventory or see how much of that awesome resource I had collected while I was away.

Even though I was mostly a Creater Handler and Bio-Engineer, I would put the list at:

    [1] Housing System
    [2] Resource / Crafting System (Including Bio-Engineer)
[3] Creature Handler + Pet system
    [4] Skill-based Point Profession System
    [5] many others...

does the "swap to nuking" have to actually hit a target to stop from self immolation or can the nuking power just be used to reverse the self-harm mechanic?

Crafting/gathering is all general skill training which can be done only one at a time

But a VIP combat guy can train 1 general combat skill and 3 archetype combat skills at a time

a little concerned about the below quote (especially since the word "much" is italicized).

so basically a must to be the quick twitchy FPS type player to play a ranger?

i don't mind skill based combat, just makes me a little nervous because I was in a severe weight training accident that has left me with a numb left thumb and index finger due to nerve damage

will I be able to keybind the numbered slot attacks to a gaming mouse?

and i guess I was wanting to know the level of degree of the word "much" in the quote below

""much more preparation and hand-eye skill to play then any other archetype""

No, it wouldn't give you an advantage.  Maybe I'll share it when we're closer to release.

It's not that pretty, though --  since I never expected anyone outside the company to see it.  It looks like of like some kind of weird hieroglyphic language, as it uses a simple iconography that I made (i.e. doodled) myself.  If we release it, I would probably want to have one of the artists give it a pass to make it look more professional.

    1. Here are 5 scenarios where restricting based on an IP address would not be effective:
    a) Family units made up of more than a single parent and child.
    b.) University dormitories
    c) Quadplexes, or similarly multi-unit houses that share internet
    d) Corporate networks (yes, some people play games at work - hopefully when they're not actually on the clock)
    e) People with multiple roommates

    2. VPNs cost as little as $60 a year (if you don't want lag) and easily circumvent IP restrictions.

    3. Putting in a ticket to bypass IP restrictions would allow anyone to circumvent the rule by simply stating they fit into any of the above categories, making it a fruitless venture

    4. Forcing your legitimate customers, adhering to your TOS to have to ask permission to bypass a security filter is draconian, and falls into the same pitfalls as DRM.
