surBear got a reaction from JamesGoblin in Is Anyone Else Affraid Of What This Game Could Be?
    wow, just wow.

The amount of cluelessness in this thread is beyond belief.

To those of you posting links to try to educate the clueless, I applaud your effort, but you are wasting your time.

This thread is a perfect example of why our strict forum rules need to be relaxed.  Idiots should be called out. Who knows, perhaps they will realize what they are and attempt to change their ways.  If not, perhaps if they were called out accordingly, they would just quit posting.

Either way, we would all benefit.

In the beginning I picked a champion as I thought he would be an awesome tank.  Then they said that the knight would be the tank.

I hope that the champ can promote to a tank, a dps tank.

Out here in the middle of nowhere, we have light towers that illuminate the location at night.  Makes it look almost like day time.  Super bright quartz lights attract insects by the millions.  Insects attract the critters that eat the insects.

At night we have bats, owls, night birds, raccoons, skunks and an occasional coyote.  As the sun starts to rise, those that have feasted at the buffet all night head on home to be replaced by rabbits, roadrunners, scissortails and mockingbirds.

Everyone has a joyous time..,,then the crows show up and the party is over.  No one likes to eat with the crows. They are mean, selfish and loud.  And they are a lot bigger than most of the day time diners, so they always get their way.

The only day critters not totally run off by the crows are the roadrunners.  They are smart enough to hang out by my truck because they know the crows wont come near me.

I think ACE might have more aptly named this game than they realized.

surBear reacted to Shadivak in Can someone please explain Shadowbane to me?
The perfect MMO. The best MMO, conceptually, and mechanically, that I've ever played. Combat, character development, siege mechanics, and politics, are, to this day, unrivaled. The variety of "spec groups" and character builds was only limited by your imagination and theory-crafting ability. You could be successful with pretty much ANY race/class combo, if you knew the game. One of the only games I have seen where a skilled, coordinated group of 20-30 people could defeat 2-3 times their number, and dominate.

Nothing else has ever come close to the experience I had in Shadowbane, and I've played ALL of them.

The downfall was 100% technical. The servers and PC hardware at the time just couldn't keep up.

That I recognize like half the people posting on these forums from one server or another in SB? Thinking back, man, those were the days... Forumbane was almost as good as the game itself. The politics, the trash talking, the slander, the destruction, hatred, respect, contempt....wow.

That was a decade ago??? Unbelievable, really.

I love you all. Until, of course, the day the game goes live and we're slaughtering each other.

In the early days of SB some enterprising souls would enthrall a vampire and lead him across the ocean and leave him on noob island in a training city.  Noob that I was, I thought we had to kill it to be able to train. Died many many time.
Found out later he was not supposed to be there and it took someone hours to get him there.

People would also agro a whole camp of higher level mobs and lead them to a camp where a lot of us were power leveling and wipe us out.

The SB devs later fixed it so these scenarios were no longer possible.  Sad. Took some of the excitement out of the game.

EVERYONE who is going to play CF will want this goal to be reached.

If the asian sector does not get their own servers, you can look forward to facing 200 man zergs fighting your 10 man guild.  SB players can tell you what it is like to be vastly outnumbered and having them attack the servers causing the game to lock up and shut down.if it looked like they might lose.

I am not a racist by any means, but I would prefer to play the game the way it is intended to be played.
