I feel you. In the stretch goals, an Asia testing server is listed, but hasn't been delivered yet.

Rainshine got a reaction from JamesGoblin in 5.8.4 LIVE Feedback and Bug Reports for 2/26/19
Returning player from a few years ago here. Loaded up CF on a whim and have been glued to it since!

    Improvements
+ Incredible improvement on Framerates. IIRC, last time I played I was hard pressed for 20 frames, today I enjoy 60 while nothing intensive is going on, 40-50 in small combat. Haven't had the chance to get into huge PvP yet, so unsure about that.
+ Love the change from archetypes. Race + Class is much more intuitive and friendlier to different builds

    Specific Bugs
    - When my Menu screen opens, regardless of method (looting, pressing 'I' etc), I have a ~.5 second freeze. Very obtrusive as it happens every time.
    - Items do not automatically stack when pushing between banks and inventory

    Class Specific Feedback (Druid):
    - I've only played the Druid really. The only class I'm really interested in except the Ranger, but figured I'd spend my time in one primary class.
+ Much more playable than it was two years ago! I can actually heal almost full time without spending %50+ of my time trying to dump essense
    - Damage output needs to be reworked I believe. Even stormy drood feels a little low on the DPS-o-meter
    - Soloability as anything but Lightning druid feels pretty bad. Earthkeeper is virtually unplayable solo. Archdruid can manage, but not very effective.
    - Would like to see some baseline abilities reworked to make a Druid of any specialization workable solo. Ultimately, I'd like to see all druid capable of some basline DPS, just for solo play, with something like Storm Druid getting more AoE and higher damage overall, Archdruid getting higher single target damage but no AoE, and Eachkeeper keeping their baseline DPS.

    Needs Work
    - Milestone promised an Asia test server, but it's still not here (Japan player here). My ping and Msg are around 250 - 500, sometimes spiking over 1k. I'm on a gigabit connection.
    - Mobs are extremely buggy. Unsure what the intent is, but when I aggro a mob, they just sort of stutter in place most the time doing nothing. Other times, they stutter towards me at the speed of mach jesus, so I'm not sure what's up there
    - The above stuttering problem applies to other players as well once 10 or more get on the screen.
    - New player experience is pretty poor. While it is Alpha, totally get that, I think a good new player experience would vastly improve new player retention, which woul lead to a better testing cohort. Just imo, I'm not a game dev!
    - General lagginess seems to be an issue, both network and non-player (other players and mobs) animations

Overall: If the game ran smoother in terms of animations, I could easily see this being my favorite game to play. Right now, even though the framerate got a huge boost (kudos on that, glad to see it!), the game still feels very janky in a not-good way; enemies don't path properly, players and mobs teleport, some loading issues when using dodges (especially long ranged dodge with Wood Elf).
Keep up the awesome work ACE! You guys are amazing.

Rainshine reacted to VaMei in Are Vessel's worth it right now?
Vessels are a worthwhile long term investment, but gear should have much more priority in the short term. You will get far more bang for your buck by upgrading to quality green or blue gear than from a crafted vessel.
For now vessel are permanent (pre-alpha, anything can change, blah blah). At least until game development makes a vessel wipe necessary, and then at the full reset for soft launch.
  4. Thanks
Rainshine reacted to Audin in Are Vessel's worth it right now?
Depends on how well the vessel was made.  Lots of times you see pretty crappy vessels up for sale but if you have a player with high skill making it, its totally worth it.. They are permanent.

I would not expect "anything can change" in this case, they have publicly used the word "forever".

Which character are you trying to enter the EK with? Is the character locked to a campaign? Try creating a new character and see if that character can enter the EK.

Rainshine got a reaction from JamesGoblin in CrowFall player Population...1million, 5million, 10 milllion or under 750k?
Those are some hugely optimistic numbers. Warhammer Online was a larger project with more known devs with a massive hype train behind it, and IIRC it capped, at launch, at about 800k.

I suspect CF will see 50-150k accounts at launch. If it's a great game, that'll slowly increase. If it tanks, like AoR did, then that'll quickly devolve to a few thousand dedicated players. Honestly, a few thousand dedicated players is fine for a server and a game, but it's not enough to keep a studio in business.

Personally, I despise the "vessel" system. I think you should be able to make multiple characters, but not this "your character is an item with different levels of quality" bs. MMOs, to me, are about persistence, about investing in a character and getting better, both as a player as well as fine tuning your character to be perfect for your playstyle. The whole vessel system is a huge let down.

But, I'm willing to give it a chance, it may not be bad. A similar-ish system was used in Eve for the longest time, but it was more of a nuisance; just update your clone after death and you wouldn't lose skillpoints. CF seems like it's a much more central feature, so that's disappointing.

Rainshine got a reaction from Tinnis in The Totally Unofficial Druid Thread (Impressions, Suggestions & More).
Granted, this last one was my first test, but I felt as though I spent far more time dumping essence than actually healing. I could get myself to full essence very quickly, between dropping some orbs, healing rain, and will o' wisp. Dumping takes forever; Blight is pretty good for getting rid of it, but after that I just spam abilities on CD to get rid of it so I can be useful.

I'll be honest in that I'm more attracted to the Druid to be a healer/support. I understand they don't want a 100% support that can't do anything else, but in her current incarnation I felt I was about 30% healing/ 20% damage/ 50% dumping essence to I could heal.

Demanding a dev response is quite pompous there, friend, you should enjoy the community support offered.
Here's some more: I had the same problem, but there seems to be an issue between the patcher and the client - try to launch directly from the patcher and not the client.  I resolved the problem this test by doing that (and I replicated the problem and solution).

If I launch from my client .exe it shows the old build from 6-3 and it takes me to the old server selection screen.  Also, asks for my credentials.  If I launch from patcher it takes me to the new server select and the new build listed, and does not ask for credentials again.

Good luck; hope you don't ignore my post.

Edit: Additionally, there have been at least 3 dev responses to connection issues in the past three days.
