  2. Hey all, I've been trying to start up playing, installed yesterday, but I've been having an issue where I can't enter the Campaign World or any EK. For the Campaign World, I get to the loading screen but never get into the actual world, with something popping up in my 'Me' chat about CSR commands already having been initialized, whereas for the EK, I try to click Join and nothing happens. Just trying to figure out what's going on and what I can do to fix it.
  3. Apparently I am a balanced mix of all four. 53% Social, Explorer, Killer, and 40% Achiever. Sounds about right to me.
  4. Is it possible to change your username? I just recently went through a big sweep of changing mine, but when I decided to come back to Crowfall after a college-induced hiatus, I couldn't find a way to change my username. Is it possible? And if not could it be implemented?
  5. How fun it is? Because it seems kinda like a grindfest right now to me, and I'm not interested in that kind of thing. Is there more depth to it, or is it just that?
  6. Yeah. I think that the idea of Mentoring is far and away the best plan laid out here. And it makes sense, too. A new Crow picking up tricks from a friend they've made that's been doing this for a lot longer. I think that ACE should definitely give this a look and see if they like it/can level out actual numbers for it.
  7. So...Is anyone else really worried about this? I foresee two issues with the plan as laid out in the Crown and Crows podcast and the reveal video The first issue is the same issue CCP is having with EVE Online and are currently in the process of attempting to resolve. Which is that when you're first starting out, the game isn't very fun. They advertise all these cool starships to fly around in, but when you're starting out in the game, all you have are the crappy tier one frigates that crumple like paper if you look at them funny. I'd say that the skill training system accounts for ~70-90% of the problems EVE has with player retention, and if Crowfall falls into the same trap, I could absolutely see it killing the game, especially in combination with the second issue. The second issue is that the characters have jack all to form an emotional attachment to. In all other MMORPGs, even hardcore ones like EVE, people have characters to form attachments to. In EVE, it's your capsuleer, in most other MMOs it's your character. The only games I can think of that don't have attachment are games like Rust and DayZ, which are...Rather sociopathic, to say the least. If there is no attachment to some unifying character, which I don't believe the crow-souls will provide, then there is no anchor to the RPG aspect of the MMORPG. This will, I believe, alienate a lot of people.
  8. I'm not going to lie, I'm not super happy about this. It seems like there's no BASE character like there is in EVE. When I play EVE, I'm not necessarily attached to my ships, because they blow up like crazy, but I still do have an avatar to go back to. If there's no base character, no base appearance for the character, everything becomes impersonal and...Kinda bland, honestly. I have no reason to care about my vessels, and I have nothing to make an emotional attachment to. In addition, please don't make skills like EVE. The main, huge issue with EVE is the skill progression. EVE is an amazing game locked behind months and months of initial down time when it is very difficult to do anything fun. I don't have a problem with downtime skill training, but don't make half the game locked behind skills that take days and weeks to get a single level of.
  9. *talks about healers* *hasn't seen Druid abilities yet* Let's not talk about archetypes the game is lacking while we've only seen 4/13 of the possible classes, not to mention any of the Disciplines which might enable healing. Now, if Druid comes out and she's over/underwhelming then that can be a conversation we have, but talking about it now while there's only one support archetype in the game, and who seems to be intended more a 'buff the whole group' support rather than a heal-y type support feels a bit hasty.
  10. To be honest, I really like that system. It makes it so that there's a common currency that has an actual value, but at the same time, isn't arbitrary. You find ore, you turn it into coins, you spend coins on either parcels or on something someone made because they wanted a parcel. I especially like idea that you can, if you find yourself with a surplus of coin, use them as crafting materials. It looks like a generally well-designed currency system for the game.
  11. What degree of character customization are we going to have within the Archetypes? So far, from what I've seen of the Hunger Dome, each archetype looks the same. Is there going to be a degree of changing what the character looks like? Like giving a knight scars on his face or a confessor a different color of hair?
