Nice to see XoO coming to Crowfall. I was with WarriorPoets since alpha until right before Auroria opened up. Im hoping that Dannyboy is interested in this game, but I haven't talked to him since October.

Ranger is going to be the most popular because its title appeals to many people. When the game comes out and people see that a ranger is a  one hit KO dps then they will switch to something to more of their style. At least I am hoping ranger isn't the One hit KO assassin but rather has a lot of utility and less dps.

Myrmidon could be like a bear tank in WoW while Knight is the prot warrior.

Nope. I am pretty sure when people say they don't like RNG... they don't like RNG.

Random Number Generation was just a way to try to simulate the randomness in combat. Now there are hitboxes, no lock on targeting, and reticules. The system is archaic.

People that don't like RNG in combat are looking for a highly skilled based game, and RNG takes away from skill to make it chance.

You are talking about an action MMO. This is inherently different from doing a raid boss with tab targeting and moving through your rotation. Skill is a major factor now in this game.... when an ability is fired and the target is within the reticule then it should hit.

How else are you going to bring skill into crafting? you cant.... because we cant physically make or simulate making gear. So to prevent rare items becoming not so rare.... there needs to be rng in crafting.

those monsters are supposed to be trivial.... its mainly a pvp game.

Eh I am not really for RNG in combat. Unless my opponent outplayed me then when I activate a skill, it should work. The only RNG in combat is crit percentage... since this is not a PvE game or Raiding there is no need for evasion percentage, block percentage, Hit chance( Maybe if the huge AoE meteors.... make it channeled and they rain down at random locations in an area) because you are no longer fighting static bosses or mobs.  Now if they decide to go the route of giving the option for target assist there should be a hit chance and lower damage compared to someone using manual aiming.   I personally don't even like RNG in crafting, but I see the need to keep high end items rare.

Archeage is a poor example of RNG.... you had like 6 different items coming from only 1.... so to upgrade that ring you needed to pray it upgraded into the right one.

Mobas are classified as PvP however they involve pve elements. Same with Crowfall. the main focus is pvp with a dash of PvE just to get the basics.

Im hoping that rangers are not forced to have companions but rather focus on traps, cc, stealth, and movement for their combat.

I read only half the thread because it seems to be repeating itself.
So the issue with a lot of us pvpers have with EK's is that it takes away a percentage of the population and makes the CW seem more empty.
Some solutions I can think of.
    1. Have a small amount of campaign worlds at the beginning and gradually expand as the game population expands.
    2. Force those who love EK's to pvp by
      a. resources can only be obtained in CW( this is already happening)
      b. Give them features that can only be unlocked in CWs  like you want to be able to make a bounty hunter board then you need to participate in 3 CWs and hunt "X" amount of people.
      c. Create a different currency for Building templates that you only gain through winning CW's
      d. For those roleplayers then make the npc population in their EK's start hating on them for not participating   Kinda like the opposite of Hippies hating on Vietnam vets when they came back. Make them feel guilty
      e. Make buildings have a time limit and they decay eventually needing repair or replacement from resources in the CW's ( Make these resources untradeable)
      f. EK's becomes like an interactive Achievement system

this is all I can think of right now

All in all I just hope that in the EK's I can make an underground dwarf fortress( I like Minecraft) and I get to come back to it now and then feeling like a king that just literally conquered a virtual world.
No PvE content though except maybe a small amount of mobs to practice combos on.

Makes me sad. I truly don't like the Plex, APEX,REX systems.  It is just a form of Pay2Win and can be exploited by Real World Traders to make money on Crowfall which draws in the Gold Farmers. They start to control the Plex system in the economy and boom....... we cant even escape China in a video game.

Just pay the 15 a month if you want sub... and if you cant afford that then look at your budget and stop ordering Pizzas.

Truly there is no perfect solution as I do want the developers to make money, we all have someone to take care of.

I just hope it just stays honest. Sure more money can add more people to their team making content come out faster and smoother, but they should not need to lie/ false claims like other companies I have dealt with...

B2p with a cash shop that has interesting cosmetics/ none game breaking items is what I would say is best. Now if they are pumping out content bi weekly or sizeable patches quarter-annually then I am fine with a required sub too. If they keep the philosophy of making a great game and not sucking their current population dry then they will compete with the big boys. Most companies fail in the long run because they are doing a fast cash grab.
