Oaths got a reaction from Thorns in So are druids getting fixed? or...
I would like to add my support for the ideas put forward by Thornz, Xarrayne, Yianni, and BlamedPack.

As other's mentioned, Arch Druids had one of the most well defined class roles in the game, with their blight bombs.  This functionality is relegated largely to engagements of 5 players or more and shine in specific tactical environments such as bombing chokes, enemy blobs during long engagements, or zoning enemy groups with anticipated bombs.

One thing that was not emphasized is just how 6.2 changes erased previous cross-class synergies from Arch Druids that supported the classes viability.  You once ran Arch Druids because they empowered other classes through cross class synergies in addition to their primary role as a damage capacitor class.  Namely, Pack Avatar and Blight are no longer available solely from arch druids.

I certainly support the ideology of making abilities characteristic of specific classes available to other classes.  However, it is exceedingly costly to re-obtain Pack Avatar.  To regain the Pack Avatar buff that is essential for Arch Druid bombs, players have two choices:
First, they can either play half-elves or adopt a Nature Domain for Pack Leader, containing redundant form life powers and no damage boosting implicits.  The most glaring problem with this route is that it sacrifices a major discipline slot just for the sake of regaining something that is essential for effective blight bombs while providing essentially nothing else other than healing bonuses to augment a very weak healing kit. The other option is to take Storm domain for Avatar of Storms.  This is by far the better option, but the buff granted by Avatar of Storms is inferior since it is not shared with party members.  However, other than the stun these buff only the druid's LMB and it's implicits do little to bolster blight bombs since they are all specific to electrical damage.  On this point, I think it is worth pointing out that while sickles are specific to storm-callers and deal electrical damage, 2 handed mystical staves used by Arch Druids should deal nature damage instead to help unify the AD damage theme.    Blight along with it's inherent 20% electric and nature mitigation debuff is no longer specific to Arch Druid since it was added to each other druid promotion class.  I really don't have a big gripe with this one.   Other than the fact that this has eliminated a very interesting cross-promotion mechanic through which different druid promotions previously acted synergistically.  I think Crowfall needs inter-class synergies because it adds a layer of choice to composition decisions.   This is very likely a case where you watered down something unnecessarily and eliminated an iconic spell from being specific to the Arch Druid.   No longer does the blight sound effect mean there are bombs on the field or players are being debuffed for high storm caller dps.
I played a cleric in crowfall for years wanting to play an arch druid.   And honestly moving in to 6.2 I saw room for arch druid buffs since it was already under-utilized in combat.  Since it functions as a damage capacitor and shines situationally, it was already difficult to run it.    This problem is exacerbated ten fold with the loss of class specific buffs, debuffs, and blight bomb effectiveness.

I'm posting here finally to stop pissing off all my DIS friends.
I love Crowfall and I sincerely think the loss of arch druid viability does it a huge disservice.

Ignoring everything else in this argument I need to highlight one major error -- this is incorrect. Myself, nor my leadership, has been approached by Parallel or any of his guild regarding scrims. If you ask anyone in this community they will generally tell you one thing -- DIS is always open to scrims. We play this game for fights and your perceived understanding of this game and its politics is quite incorrect. If you're stating that DIS and Death have a NAP, good lord... what an interesting proposition. You haven't seen a dregs campaign yet and most of this population is idle awaits it's launch.

If you do wish to make yourself an honest man, my discord is Ruq#6343 and we'd be happy to setup scrims, otherwise we will see you in dregs this week.

    1. It should work like that, I agree however it should not create a gate that keeps new players away.
    2. Please cite your source on that, I play many MOBAS, Shooters, and survival games, not one of them can rival the player population in WoW. As far as MMO's go, which is what I am speaking to because why compare apples and oranges? Yeah, Full Loot PvP games are very niche, which if that is the goal for this game, then cool, that will be achieved. If the idea is to get a large healthy community, then making it so a new players gear break every 5 deaths (exaggerating, but not by much) is again going to create a very tough gate to get through.
Here is a link you can follow for the top grossing games to date (they say all time but afaik we still have some left) Let me know when you get to the first full loot lose everything game. I will wait. https://www.titlemax.com/discovery-center/lifestyle/the-top-50-highest-grossing-video-game-franchises/
Eve, yes - darkfall what the ten people that still play that? and it was not popular during it's "day". UO yes, still has a cult like following, and yes Albion seems quite popular. Rust, Ark, Atlas - Survival games, and not worth discussing here as again, apples and oranges.
This might be the answer right here. If the game offers different flavors of campaign allowing for newer players to get their feet wet without being re-set to 0 every time they lose a fight, then most of my points above are moot.

Wait, so the group of people who took away the castle from the community by using gold they got from ripping off newbies and then going into general chat to brag about this fact, are now posting on the forums about the community being toxic? Y I K E S

This community has put together fully formed and admined tournaments (Crow Battles)
A newbie guild to help players grow (BEAR) then go to whatever guild they choose
Live streams about crafting (Captain) to teach new players how it works
Crafting recipes made public and not kept to themselves (Phylor) that pretty much everyone uses and provides to new players
Constant You Tube video guides PER PATCH (CrusaderW) to keep new players up to date
Player builder (Don't know who made it but - Crowcaine.wiki) to help theorycraft with eachother in an easier way
When TRA showed up DIS invited them to do formed scrims and taught them how group PvP worked in CF. That same offer was extended multiple times to new guilds.
Friday night Public fights in EK opened to everyone

This community is no where near the toxicity levels of a game like Albion. You get exactly what you give to this community. You come in being jerks to everyone and thats exactly what you'll get back. You come in like a normal decent human like ZZav did and look how it's treated him. Nothing but love for ZZav.

Yeah in field fights you have very little burst potential; Gaea's Growth into Blight can maybe do the same as 3 Radical LMBs, if the enemy doesn't move, and Death Tray ult can execute if you wanna take that risk, but asides from that you're just doing below-average DPS with GG, Spark and Bear.
I am ok with the field-fight DPS being below-average, considering that AD has a wider toolkit than most classes and major burst in static fights, but FoN nerfs make it hard to even apply that lower DPS reliably. +25% Orb damage and Gaea's Growth spawning Coalesce Nature (resource-restoring) orbs would be a good start, if an orb-cap and FoN reversion aren't on the table.

    @Rhea
Prefix: I love the Force of Nature rework, because it gives you more ways to apply both healing and sustained DPS while also negating the gut-wrenching moment when a potential bomb gets idly eaten by a full-HP party member... This hybrid-orbs mechanic is a great change to the AD promotion, but it still requires some tuning.
I think the reduction on Blight cap was fine, pending some real-world testing, since it forces you to choose between speccing for one-shots, sustained DPS, healing, tankiness, or somewhere in-between; no class should excel at all of these categories at once, which is the main reason the old Druid kit was split up so much in the first place.

Now, the main point: I think that Force of Nature (FoN) did warrant a nerf in some way, because the top-end damage was ridiculous (read: one-shotting 7 people with no forewarning), but I agree that it went too far the other way... Reaching this peak damage required completely uninterrupted casting, without taking more than a few hundred points of splash damage, for a full minute. The application was very limited, sure, but the lack of counterplay to such a massive burst was my main concern regarding this interaction.
Is it possible to cap the number of orbs an Archdruid can have out at once to 15-21? This would negate the problem of extreme and unpredictable top-end burst, allowing FoN to be more easily balanced around both its peak damage and its sustained damage. It is very rare that the spec requires more than 15-21 orbs out at once, since more than that is generally overkill in both damage and healing, and during the time it takes to cast that many orbs even a siege fight is likely to have moved position anyway.

Currently in WT gear each stepped-on orb does maybe 100 or so damage to non-tank players, which makes for a more reasonable 4.5-6k damage peak at ~45 orbs in WT vs WT, but it is incredibly anemic for sustained/short burst DPS which is the most common application. That peak damage is also now lower than just casting 15 orbs and Blighting them, so overall the passive feels rather wasted now; even with FoN it still feels incredibly bad for damage output when people run over orbs, accidentally or otherwise.
I don't think the healing from Blighting orbs ever needed a nerf, though this reduction would be more palatable if exploded Orbs were able to cross-heal outside of group... Archdruid has rather limited options for cross-healing, and this is a static heal that you have to prep beforehand with only 5m radius, making it difficult at best to heal more than one or two party members with it.

Rebrand alliances to a fealty system and now we can check off having a bend-the-knee mechanic in the game.  You fight for your liege (big shield guild) and as long as your loyalty is rewarded (your cut of the rewards) you will continue to fight for your liege.

After all, when you finish a war is it not the king who grants land to his vassals?

Oaths reacted to blazzen in The Case for Combined Alliance Scoring and Rewards
The problem, as I see it, is with conquest points determining the winner, alliances will be incentivized to stack all their "pvp characters" into one tag within the alliance, or at least ensure that one tag within the alliance controls all the keeps/forts/outposts to maximize conquest points. This is why we need some sort of combined score for conquest points.
I think you keep glory/wealth/power as "guild" level objectives, but conquest points are an "alliance" level objective.
As far as implementation I can a couple different options.
As Ruq said above, the "big shield", or whoever starts the alliance, receives all the conquest points from all of the "small shields". If the small shields leave and join another alliance, they don't take any points with them. At the end of the campaign the guild leader of the "big shield" gets all the rewards and passes them out as they see fit. This maintains tension within an alliance.  One thing I wonder is what would happen if a big shield decided to sub under another big shield? I suppose then the previous big shield would give all their points to the new big shield? Or would they be deleted? This is an edge case that would have to be solved somehow.  Another option would be to keep conquest points tracked throughout the campaign on the guild level just as they are now. Then, once the campaign is over, points from guilds within an alliance are added together to determine a winning alliance and the guild leader of the big shield gets the rewards to distribute the same as in the first scenario.  That's my $0.02 on it. As it stands right now you can bet there's going to be conquest "feeder" point guilds in alliances. Otherwise you're just dividing your score up and making it harder on yourself.

Oaths reacted to Ruq in The Case for Combined Alliance Scoring and Rewards
Hi all, Ruq here, back with another crusade post -- this time focused on campaign scoring and rewards.
    Problem:
With the change from Divine Favor (DF) to Conquest score determining the victor in Dregs, the old problem of individual guild scoring / capturing objectives and reward distribution comes into question. Solution:
Combine all alliance earned conquest points under the alliance executor guild's score (big shield) and distribute non-divine favor point rewards only to the executor. Discussion:
One primary argument for this change is ease of management and the reintroduction of tension into alliances. By combining all conquest points into a single alliance-based scoring system, many issues regarding who captures which holdings, who obtains which rewards, and how to organize across allies become mute. This shifts much of the tension regarding rewards and strategy to the players, rather than the system. It encourages guilds to actively participate in discussions surrounding alliance expectations and distribution of wealth. One important note: this would only occur for overall conquest point scoring to determine a campaign victor. Individual guilds would still compete at the DF level for additional campaign rewards. Implementation:
No massive changes to the current scoring or leaderboard system need to be implemented. Simply adding an additional tab on the leaderboards denoting "Overall Campaign Conquest," some something similar, would identify which alliance is in the overall lead, whereas the current conquest scoring leaderboard would form the basis for determining current, individual guild performance in power or conquest-based DF cards.
I welcome all discussion and comments regarding this idea. If you support this idea, please react and comment accordingly, I encourage those who disagree to do the same.

The white exploration disciplines have 100% loot protection modifier.  I am unsure if this is a bug or not.  If it is a bug great, if it isn't this should be cut by 50% or more.  Full item protection seems antithetical to the rest of the patch adding gear drop on death.

    Thanks for the heads up.
Given that many players have stopped playing due to the impending wipe, would it be possible to end the campaigns early and consolidate everyone into smaller maps in infected so we can find each other more easily?
Right now, the world feels far too large for the population. The majority of time is spent in transit and trying to anticipate where opponents might be. Also, I think with the current pop #s, faction gameplay would probably work better to support balanced fights.

No. The world is too large for the population.

This, in a campaign with 5 enormous maps each that take minutes to cross in one direction. That's one map per player, basically.
Even at an evening population of 30-50 it's too much space for the # of players. It's only thanks to the fort timers that we have any idea at all where to find each other.
