The remaining active player population hasn't suffered enough?
What with the PvE XP grinding of higher tier vessels, extreme difficulty acquiring discs, gold that has little to no value, inventory problems, increasingly complex crafting and looted item requirements not to mention the frustrating assembly failures that seem to happen more than a 2% chance.
I forgot to mention the armor and jewelry durability bugs from a couple patches ago that broke most people's stuff. Once upon a time EK's were bursting with activity and there was the beginning of an active economy and trade. Now they seem to serve no purpose.
Why wipe now until some of these things are fixed? Let them implement the big changes to inventory/spirit bank import/export/guild banks and get back on track with development after going off the rails. There's no reason to wipe until then.

My issue with all of this is "feeding the information machine".

    What are you doing?

What changes are a week out, a month out 3 months out, 6? 9? a year. Yes it will get more sketchy the longer the time but come on.

What has been done in the last week that is exciting? Infuriating? Frustrating? The last month? What milestones were met. what was pushed off due to "reasons".

What is the new office like? Where is the cookie Jar? What type of cookies? Who got a new computer with what specs? How are the testers testing? What are they testing on? Do they exist?

Just to get out of the bug thread I wanted to continue the discussion around the pip changes brought up there.

@thomasblair I'd like to make it clear that I think everyone is in favour of flattening the curve in the game currently, but these changes in the current state of the game only practically serve to make crafters/harvesters feel burnt out. @Hungry posted this in the thread:
I highlighted the part that is most concerning. For that small of an increase it feels like a complete waste of time to harvest that much for that little of a gain. This is an issue with having a live testing environment that is being played like a real game - and unfortunately it's an issue you should consider if you want to maintain a testing population.

If quality gear will be this small of an increase quality materials will need to become much easier to acquire, and it would help us a lot to know more about your plans for:
Refineries. Caravans. Player harvesting potentials relative to the other options. In the past you've mentioned how you wanted to increase resource gain, which we were all relieved to see - but all we've seen since then is a reduction in our ability to get quality materials. Beneficial harvest getting nerfed, skinning continuing to be a complete chore (4 hours of farming per blue leather armor set), and the massive gap in efficiency between passive trained players and untrained players create a lot of problems.

I don't expect a reply in this thread but it may be worth having a harvesting and crafting Q+A sometime soon to talk about the design intent behind these changes cc @Pann. There have been a ton of changes around farming that are worth discussion (for example, are the disc buying changes here to stay or can we expect shadowbane like soul hunting in the future?)

Last piece of feedback. The patch notes suck and are always missing stuff. It's a guild effort for us to all login and test/look at everything we can think of in the game when a test patch gets put up because we can't trust the notes to contain all of the important stuff, let alone all of the perceived minor stuff.

Thanks for being so willing to discuss things with the player base and engage with us. You guys get a lot of poorly made socks, but overall we really appreciate your effort.

Can we get resource containers in god's reach?  They were in the keeps but have been removed now that there are no siege zones.  It is hard to test crafting changes without certain resources available (body parts, minerals for ambrosia).

@thomasblair I hope it is clear what this signals to the player base. To get that type of armor increase you are investing 60 Chaos embers, + hours and hours of farming the ore and hide (no custard thank you) for a 29% increase assuming you roll max on every single pip which on Legendary Gear is practically impossible even fully buffed out.

I ran a quick test, with no re-rolls on live with 20 pips (I can get 24 but it isn't worth the investment here) and 140~ experimentation skill. Here is a blue scale and ring:

Now here is white rings and scales on a white vessel, no BS gear, no rings, no re-rolls, just passive training on test with 13 pips.

The durability is actually higher somehow (maybe a buff?) and the overall stats are very close. I assure you that if I had the same gear and rolled all amazing on these components they would be extremely similar, for a completely trivial amount of effort in comparison. If these changes stay, it will be extremely unlikely that any large guild will use quality ore for anything other than luxury weapons or something, because the difference is not significant in practical play.

Unless you do something drastic to the output of all of the harvesting professions why would we go past white if the results are practically the same, aside from being completely rich on materials because we can use white to compete until mega lategame? This seems short sighted. I'm all for flattening the curve, but there should be a curve.

we're gonna wipe when 6.0 happens, if you wipe now then wipe in like 3 weeks you will kill the tester base even more unless you added something huge like dregs or frostweaver, then people might stay around and endure the punishment with an ever growing hatred for anyone who has ever said the word wipe

I think wipes should happen when there is a good testing reason for it - either significant changes that technically require it, or to collect testing data that couldn't be done without a wipe.

Put major souls/minor discs back on vendors at a substantial gold cost but still require the soul essences for the combines or some loot component if RNG is a must for disc combines.
Make it hard enough/costly enough that you can't be swapping discs (unless you're rich) without feeling some pain. The desire and need for discs...and people changing discs  to try new specs will help improve the value of gold since discs are an integral part of the character build.
Also eliminates the annoying RNG grind of hoping you get the right drop out of all of the discs if you can just buy the one you need.

    - Crafting table at war tribe camps do not work (can't open a crafting menu with them) -  never mind apparently there are just random tables that arent actually  crafting tables
    On a side note,
An epic (purple) Satyr Artifact Bind gives me 1610 xp at level 28. A stack of 10 epic (purple) Satyr artifact items gives me 1348 xp. If the combine fails you get 350 xp from the rare (blue) bind. The upside of the successful combine is 262 xp but the downside of a flawed assembly is 998xp. Seems like this needs to be adjusted to at least provide the same amount of upside for a success. Why even bother with the combine otherwise?
    - The adventure zone Rae seems to have no mob spawns

With a single mighty swing of his basic axe Nextelum destroyed every node in crowfall. The dustpacalypse began that day, and Nextelum sat astride his pile of riches tapping the plus sign on his basic calculator application, the cleverest man alive.
Who among us could have prevented this?
Who among us could have discovered the arcane secrets of elementary school mathematics?
Woe was crowfall in the wake of Nextelum. A man simultaneously in all places at once and powered by the revolutionary idea of equipping items. Never again would any other harvest dust, for all now belonged to the Destroyer of Nodes, Harbinger of Arithmetic, the only man in crowfall with a dust harvesting account.
What secrets lie behind his ascent to power?
What techniques lost to time did he employ?
Why did no one else in the entire game have these revolutionary ideas?

That's because players don't want to sell goods for gold which is why I believe the OP made this post. Dust and embers hold more value than what should be the defacto currency, gold. If gold can't hold enough value to be a currency then just remove it. Unfortunately the market is inefficient enough with vendors strewn across temples, free city, and EKs. There is no centralized market and we essentially have a barter system. I think more trading gets done on the Discord channels than in-game currently, which is unfortunate but I guess probably unavoidable.

Is this "bonus per point" what should be affected? It doesn't seem to be changing whether or not the passive is equipped.

Would also be nice to list items on vendors in exchange for dust rather than gold. Trying to do my part, keeping a vendor stocked but I can't even find anyone to trade me crafting mats or dust for gold.
