  4. for real? 1) Merchant city with 0%VAT tax, only charge 10% from seller side. 2) arrange arena tournaments everyday, allow people to gamble if it's possible and reward the winners from the pool or grant houses/land.

  6. Yeah, i remember that. I think that would happen on other stealth type archetypes too. SB had some similar penalities like movement limitation, exposure if attack, stealth reveal skill, low dps/health, etc. the SB's design is kind of encourage you to either start with a rogue type classes or hang in a group while levelling, on the other hand, mage/warrior were so powerful in city war. And remember the levelling curve in SB is so short that you can literally reach max level in 1day and so you can adjust your strategy quickly. I guess it's more like to let you make your own decision and pick the right starter archetypes rather than making every archetype fits into most situations. If you wonder how does a bad stealth mechanism looks like, try GW2. The roaming thieves in wvw have no counter at all, even thief couldn't do that.
  7. hmm, had played SB for quite a few years actually. Maybe I enjoyed the hide and seek because I was a scout myself lol. It really depends on how do you see the pvp in mmo, SB was never a good game for solo roaming. To be honest, i couldn't find a better stealth mechanism in other MMO, they were either made the stealth guy become immortal or useless. Also crowfall dev team said they tend to make it like war game rather than an enlarged 1v1 duelling, so I guess you have to rely on each other? Some game seeks for balance between every individuals and some game seek for balance of functionalities for each classes in group. It's like a chess game, pawn maybe the weakest but it turns into queen if you reach the bottom line and some of them could never handle a duel. Have you ever play EvE? It's a bit similar to this case in terms of stealth + anti stealth mechanism. They never seek for balance between ships as they are built to fit into different position, the entire game is built with unfairness between individuals yet it found its balance between factions.
  8. According what i have experienced in SB, there were flying+stealth class in the game and there were classes can make entire team invisible+ apply flying buff. However, this type of team can only act as a special squad since the respawn point was way too far from the target. You need to run for 20mins if you died at somewhere far from whoever can use rec. Besides, Back in that time, city builder can hire NPC archer to guard a specific place. Usually a city fight would be 50-200max player on each team, if you invest 50 people into duelist, then the team will be wiped easily. No need to worry too much the war mechanism in this game, since their team gave SB pretty much the best war mechanism among all MMO.
  9. Anyone up for a guinea pig musketeer legion? Or even a kingdom? I can imagine how hilarious if someone build a kingdom with a guinea pig and sit on his throne with crown and red cape.
  10. Depends, they might also make scout comes with a ability to expose them like how shadowbane did. Maybe even anti stealth trap/skill, good stealth skill carry the pvp to a strategy level from a street fight. The hide and seek in SB is alot of fun and balanced while GW2 screwed the wvw so bad like an enlarged street fight. we shall see, but I doubt that they would ever screw this as they had a huge success in SB's stealth system.

  12. lol, i was actually thinking to use knight to fill up the broken wall part or some tunnels along with some druid to heal them from their back. unless the knight is possible to ride a mount and charge, otherwise, should let centaurs play the blitzkrieg role.
  13. To be fair, knight could be interesting if people really use formation, because the object collision makes it fun.
  14. i hope the existence of myrmidon won't impact the role of champion, since they are both melee fighter type while the myrmidon run faster and hit harder for a period of time. Anyway, it sounds fun and i hope you guys can make it grow larger when receiving more damage in berserk mode. I love how shadowbane change the size of myrmidon according the strength changes.
  15. Although combat is the core in this sandbox MMO, non-combat based skills are also very crucial to the game. I remember thief in shadowbane is capable to actually steel items from others without killing, druid can summon others to their place, and all mages classes have some weird and fun skills. For example, it will be fun if there is a rare skill that can let you enchant any one of your item, and you gain a chance to fight back when a looter is taking it from your dead body. If you success, you will be revived by scarifying the looter and the enchantment(not the item itself) will break, success or not. I am hoping not all activities/skills are integrated into archetypes and sieges. Some abilities won't grant the power to do direct damage, but it can provide some advantages/fun. Also, is it possible to make those sieges into more magical way rather than medieval sieges? For instance, summon a very strong monster from a ritual that cost materials/player's life.

  17. i think they make druid in this way intentionally, since they don't want to balance archetypes in 1v1, but rather prefer making them become indispensable in war. Like frontline defender, legionnaire for blitzkrieg, confessor as mid/backline, druid as backline, roamer like stalker and ranger,etc. i won't surprise if champion /duelist dominate 1v1. That will sounds so weird to me if forgemaster is capable to face champion/duelist 1v1. But yeah, i think i will start the game with any sneaky archetype first.

  19. The pattern of use of skill isn't that hard to understand, it is simple because the skill animations lock. Think about to build up a combo, you need to press 2-3 keys to set it up while all 2-3 skills come with their own animation lock. let's do some simple maths, 3 skills animations time + 3 delays animation lock is about 0.2s-0.3s give or take (assuming the skill doesn't require any casting time, but only animation lock) delays are come from ping etc. Usually 100ms -150ms. In my case, 150ms. 150ms = 0.15s 3(0.3+0.15) =1.35s This 1.35s is the best result i can reach if I have 0s human reaction time (usually 0.2s) and all spells have 0 casting time. (the 0.2s doesn't apply if you clicking the same button repeatedly, since delay doesn't mean click interval here). So most of the time, a combo cost you 1.5s (at least) to perform. while performing this, you can't really swing your camera freely to adjust target and the animation lock just stun you there for at least 0.9s (if no latency and no reaction time.) such combo can be easily dodged by moving 2-5 steps away. on the other hand, the fireball allows you to keep positioning and it comes with longest hit range plus decent damage. The reward against time investment&risk is better than pursue some of those combos, especially when the final hit isn't too powerful and easy to hit.
  20. gonna go for scout/ centaur/ ranger in this case. having good eyes and run fast are the best survival kit.
  21. I noticed all fighting actions interrupt your movements, but some action should be possible to be proceeded during running? Like normal attack, constantly poking the front while running or walking? So then the actions will looks way smoother.
