As with all things there are ups and downs. Passive is great from a sense that you can progress and keep up with your social group no matter what is going on in real life, even if you can only login every few days. (It sucks being the friend who wasn't able to log in and all of a sudden your friends shot ahead 20 levels and now you have to PuG it)
Downside is you are gated by time, I know we have many, many people who would like to grind to the end, even if it means killing 1212762376 boars. Unfortunately that style of play as we have seen over and over is people race to the end, look around, ask where is the end game? proceed to complain about being bored and quit. Without fail. Every single game.

Do people want to make top end stuff day 1? Sure they do, and in games that let you grind it out, guilds can funnel everything to a player to those ends. Which sucks for longevity. You claim that the early game is going to be unpleasant (which might be true) but it would be even more unpleasant long term for the game if we let people zip to the the proverbial "end" in that first week too.

The way we have it now there will be epochs of gear, where over time the gear that appears on the vendors will get better and better, and every couple of weeks the crafters will make a giant leap forward as they earn more experimentation points. (least that is the theory)

Where you can go get your grind on is with leveling vessels and finding Disciplines. +90 attributes from a basic white quality vessel at max is pretty significant, even more so if we up the amount of attributes gained per level on the higher quality vessels.

Well, since you guys are using CTS, you might as well hire Adam Goodrich, the inventor of that and many other tools.
You can literally hire this guy for 80 dollars an hour and he will help with any issues you have, so he wouldn't need full-time employment.

Adding friendly fire would truly make this hardcore. Imagine you can't even trust not getting ganked by your best buddy, let alone your entire guild.
Imagine someone playing the spy and stealing from your guild bank, months after masquerading as a guild member, only to be friendly fired when they try to escape with the goods. Haha, that would be cool.

Honestly, take as long as you like. A lot of the changes you implemented which made the development time longer, I would have been fine with if you just kept it the way you planned initially. The most important thing is that you are the boss, and you direct the game to go where you want it to. I've put my faith in you and your team, and I am confident that this is a work of passion.
Thanks for everything you do ACE, even if I don't agree with all of it.

Honestly delete the streams and just give us the list you are reading. Thomas is pretty good at reading, but I prefer the sound of my own voice.
You could then cut this stream in half and spend 30 minutes just answering questions. I believe everyone would prefer this.

I must admit I was disappointed with the response to the knight questions too.  Saying that knights will eventually have 6-8x effective health with gear and training is misleading on three levels:
knights gain the same amount of value from scaling armor values that the rest of the classes do.  Everyone with 75% mitigations will have 4x the effective life of someone with 0% mitigations, no matter their class.    you cap mitigations at 75% so a knight with 75% mitigations who's blocking will still have 4x effective life.. block doesn't double effective life.  There is absolutely nothing to indicate a knight can get 6-8 times effective life.  making knights harder to kill without making them threatening means they will continue to be ignored and avoided until all the high threat targets are dead, and then will be finished off at leisure.  As to reasons to attack a knight:  1 - there's nobody else around to attack.  2 - you're melee and there's nobody else around to attack other than a templar.
We've gone over it before.  There is a fundamental design flaw in Crowfall - your most mobile classes are ranged dps.  Your best CC'ers are ranged DPS.   There is no overall balance between dps/healer, tank, harasser, ranged, melee.  You undervalue range in your calculations dramatically.  You put far too much value on rate of attack and not enough on burst dmg.  It doesn't matter that an attack has a slow animation if it hits like a truck.  Burst dmg is dmg royalty in group combat. Burst dmg from range is king.  Little pitter patter dmg has far less value in a fight with healers.  Pitter patter damage from melee characters is the least valuable of all, because it is both the most easily avoided, and the easiest to heal through.
I was also disappointed in the response to the "how do you respond to us flocking to OP race/class combos?"  Looking at the logs to see what's most played is useless.  Solo players and casuals skew the numbers too much.  What matters is which classes the big successful guilds are bringing to fights.  If a big guild brings 6 wood elf rangers and 4 wood elf druids to a 10-man fight, you can be pretty confident that the wood elf teleport is too good.

I don't think I can get used to the ranged attacks for Clerics. Is there a reason why this has to be?

I admit that i just realized that the cleric is a ranged class even though it uses a hammer and shield.
Would it be possible to make the power effects inversely proportional to distance? The LMB power could do more damage the shorter the hammer flies making it a quasi-melee power. The same could happen with the other powers to varying degrees.
I honestly think it would be a interesting playstyle. A cleric that must risk his safety going melee-ish to be as useful as possible. Well, it beats the kitting playstyle that i assume will happen...

Dashing left, right,  and backward for Centaurs seems kind of hard to pull off, seeing as they are half horses and all. I would really like to see some other option, rather than dodge.

Gwanstar got a reaction from JamesGoblin in Can my PC Run This?
This game runs with the Unity engine, and Unity is one of the more less demanding and friendly engines out there.
Pretty much, anything ever is going to depend the most on your GPU, so you have to figure out what your GPU is, and then google the games it can run that are standard today. I googled that your GPU-->integrated graphics might be intel hd 520 and you should be able to run the game on low settings 30fps.
Of course, take into account that the more players and geometry are in your surroundings the lower fps you are going to get. They are working on optimizing lag with many players present.

I personally love the hunger system. It gives the game more depth in terms of gameplay. Originally I wanted to focus on farming (Huge fan of Harvest Moon), but I guess they scrapped that idea. Would have been cool to be able to provide food for the troops, by having your own farm.
I'm a huge fan of those types of mechanics, because it makes my character feel alive and not like some kind of glorified machine. I wish more games implemented those types of mechanics like the Sims, where you even have to take care of your hygiene and social life(Could be cool to have some sort of anti social trait), but it's not really popular with most people, because I guess most people don't like to play IRL simulators.

So, you're saying that there is no visual difference between human and nethari, yet you want to make them seem different by giving them different hair choices? Please ACE, I want to play a human and have the exact same hair choices as nethari. Please, don't add artificial uniqueness to races by limiting their options in character creation.
My human druid has already been wiped from existence, please don't wipe my cosmetic choices as well.
