Jjohnsin reacted to moneda in Class breakdowns - my gripes
Since Blair mentioned in a stream that some classes may lose (or gain) powers they currently (do or do not) have this isn't really anything anyone has to worry about.
Even if Blair hadn't mentioned it though, I still don't see this as a problem. Even if multiple classes have "a thing" in a column it could pale in comparison to every other class, making it practically a moot point. With mobility, for example, it doesn't matter that Templars get Censure because the way its designed still allows for them to be kited like a toddler on a playground.

I'm not a fan of auto crits either because it negates the critical hit defense stat.
That said, I think Champion dominance is a much bigger offender than Templar execute which requires the target to be below 35%.
In either case I wish more of this worked like the black mask passive that grants 50% extra crit chance instead of auto crit so that critical hit defense can still factor into the equation.

Jjohnsin got a reaction from Scorn in I'd like for Templar to be more open world viable
I find templar to be in an ok spot in open world. Its just much more reliant on group coordination to get decent uptime on targets.
The one thing i can get behind is pip generation. It does feel awful to be pip starved, and there should be counterplay so its possible to pip starve, but i think its a little much atm. I'd say make righteous smash combo cost no pips personally and you'd see a lot of improvement.
Otherwise, you cant look at templar on its own roaming around open world. Either build for that or get a group. There are lots of options for an open world style templar which are plenty viable, people just havent come around to it get and like to stick with a standard templar build which I totally understand. Imo its not that they aren't good enough in open world, it's just that pip generation is a hassle for them.

Id love to see bard get some love, definitely. Very awkward discipline now imo. Juice isnt worth the squeeze when it comes to twisting on any song, and resto hymn is useless as well even stacked with all other in combat regen

I was in the understanding you get a soul power tick every time you get hit/hit someone which is gated behind a very short internal CD. At least that's how it felt in testing. Maybe @mhalashace or @thomasblair could shed some light on it for us?

    DoT's 100% should break stealth.
I'm not so sure about them triggering dizzy and dizzy down though. I think that should be direct damage only.
The strange thing is that sometimes DoT's do trigger dizzy and other times they do not.
The very first fight of this video I use stink bomb, then caltrops and then poison dart. Something triggers dizzy in that sequence.

Later in the video at around 1:40 you'll see two dots get applied to me while in combat tray then I disengage and run away in survival tray without getting dizzied. Once the dots wear off I'm able to stealth.

Overall I think DoT's should break stealth but not trigger dizzy down.

well then it's bugged if that's the case. I've tested extensively. Thorns, DoT procs, troub debuff, and retribution all charge your C power faster than just LMB spamming

it's almost like you can un-equip your axe before combat so that animation doesn't play when you go into harvest tray. or just not have them equipped ever: i.e you can have them on your hotbar, and you can sheath and unsheath them

Yep pretty much this. Youre asking to be able to vanish literally whenever you want, that sounds like "uber power" to me.
I think everyone else covered it. Not a good idea imo, getting into stealth as is isnt even that clunky. The only reason it may feel so is because OOC/in combat is determined by what tray you're in rather than your character auto leaving combat after x second not fighting. Id argue it's actually stronger in crowfall since you can actually restealth in someones face if they let you during "combat"

Except its literally the same as every other game. The player just has control over when they get ooc

    It's different with stealth.

Going from melee to ranged tray is fine, we don't go through harvest tray there.

Stealth gives you an advantage, you become instantly stealth, if your enemy has no +perception, then you could just go stealth in front of them whenever you felt like it.

Every rogue class ever had to go out of combat to stealth - if you wanted to stealth in combat you had a vanish, in our case the ultimate of the assassin.

Jjohnsin got a reaction from Tinnis in Jj Builds Builds Ep. 2 - Battle Cleric
Hello everyone! I'm back again with my second build video, things have been crazy and I have not had time to stitch together many clips the past few weeks! I was able to spend some time today adding some better editing, imo, making the video a little more exciting. However, as promised, my second episode of my build series showing off: The Battle Cleric!
Highlights showing off the capabilities of my Battle Cleric build. It's a very offensive focused cleric build that is very versatile and flexible depending on your playstyle, is a ton of fun to play, and can pull off some impressive tricks in the right situations! All of this footage was with pretty mediocre gear (half-giant clips were intermediate weapon, elken clips were with a sub 100 top end damage hammer) so you can definitely see much higher damage numbers than you might see here!
I am using a few different variations of the build in this video which I think shows off the variety of how you can build this idea. The most obvious are elken vs half-giant, both are equally as good and I loved getting footage with both builds. Hope you enjoyed and the explanation video is coming soon! I think I might actually prefer the half-giant build to the elken build as it fits my aggresive playstyle so well, however, the elken charge opens up A LOT of potential play-making.
The explanation video will come within the end week but for now enjoy some build highlights!

I think the devs have said that they aren't opposed to giving more races more classes. I think for the initial race/class split they just went with what they had animations/work done for.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a few races get an extra class or two moving forward

    the problem being
a ) there already are multiple FX indications - which was in essence the original discussion point - its just most people probably not aware of it
b ) the entire context about them being 'visible' or not is 100% tied to their damage potential

    1. ping/delays, animation times, visual effects + count voice calling. I would like to say if you dont mitigate it self, you will get damage.  also not everyone have 10+ group to build any possible setups
    2. someone was far away
    3. we have discussion about current statement. what will be in 2020 year I dont know and you as well. anyway some ppl play with 15 fps. once they polish things, this tricks will be even easy to reproduce
    4. are you sure? say it to east players from west who played with friends for example.

ofc every argument can get counterargument. you will notice all this balance issues later, with more ppl in game. like I talking about rangers right after wood elves race announced.
druid have some balance issues for a long time. but even bugged it was strong class. I told it and keep talking about it.
now this class is ranged tankish healing buffing blinking (through textures) shielding (most of futures working through textures) rambo with 240-400 LMB (variable) ticks which does not required hard aiming with _optional_ oneshot and some aoe which can be builded to very different builds (stable dps also with scimitars) with 2 panels, strong basic kit passive who does not care about PCM. yes, class is still boring and have slippery gameplay (for me) but you can do so dirty things with this which are impossible to other
call me whiner, I dont care. all I care is balance at release to comfort myself gaming.

    1. Someone should be running escape artist anyways
    2. If you don't have your ultimate, let someone else tank the orbs.
    3. I expect this to happen very infrequently after beta polish, etc.
    4. ping/lag is not a reasonable issue to game balance around imo, as most people playing on their regional servers shouldn't have awful ping.

Ranged shouldn't even be in the area to get hit by bombs. For melee Knight and templar have block/parry, champ has iFrames or leap, myrm has berserk. The only 2 classes I could see getting blown up without CD's up are duelist and assassin. That's it.

Jjohnsin got a reaction from Gummiel in Will all classes be getting one shot mechanics?
Nope. Druid orbs definitely don't need to be nerfed. If you actually get hit by these orbs AND actually get 1-shot...you deserve to lose your stuff imo. Like yah, it's area control that can hurt a lot. Good thing we have stuff to counter that sort of gameplay like, oh I don't know; iFrames, block, rescue, etc.
These druid orb topics seem like a waste of time and resources for ACE in terms of moving forward in the game. There is plenty of time to react to any orbs exploding in your face. I say to these people upset at druid orbs: git gud
