    This is called baiting. Obviously WoW and Crowfall are nothing alike. Last week they tried to sound like they were official Crowfall Devs with an important announcement. Its all just to get people to watch.
     
    They are also shrills for TERA and ask loaded questions in their interviews so I won't be watching

    The OP suffers from what I refer to the "unique snowflake syndrome" or USS.
     
    The issue with people with USS is they don't understand that in MMOs, unlike a single player game, no one can rule over all. No one is special and no one achieves real greatness.

    The knight was just the example I used. I think confessor should have some abilities they can use while running as well
     
    Hmm I'm not sure about this statement
     
    "If you start adding in damage skills that can be preformed while running, all of a sudden you've removed strategic disengagement from the game."
     
    I would argue it increases disengagement strategies... You simply can't turn in any other direction and hit W to get away. You need to reserve your stamina, or Save your CC so you can stun and run. But if you save your CC for a possible escape then you don't have it for the initial combat encounter. What to do? This is where strategy, skill and tactics come in

    I'll admit, I was completely against the reticule and animation lock system but it has grown on me over the past month.
     
    I still hope ACE considers removing the roots placed on characters while using all but the most powerful abilities.
     
    For example, the Knight should be able to use his basic attack and onslaught ability while on the move. Shield slam however should be one of the those abilities that root the knight in place. This would create a lot more dynamic combat. Since everyone else can use some or most abilities while on the move, in order for the knight to successfully land a shield slam, he would have to stun his opponent first with onslaught
     
    Add dashes and strafing to the game, along with making movement client side and overall combat would feel much more fluid and fast paced.
     
    So that's my opinion... How about you? How satisfied are you with the combat so far

    One only needs to look at Wildstar's development to know what happens when you build a game that is too inaccessible and difficult for the average gamer.  For those that don't know... it's a recipe for failure.
     
    Make the game as fun as possible for the most amount of people = success and longevity.
     
    Make the game inaccessible, overly hard/complicated = empty servers

    One only needs to look at Wildstar's development to know what happens when you build a game that is too inaccessible and difficult for the average gamer.  For those that don't know... it's a recipe for failure.
     
    Make the game as fun as possible for the most amount of people = success and longevity.

    We're opening the EU server from 3pm - 5pm CDT.
     
    We're opening the North American East/West servers from 8pm - 10pm CDT.
     
    Servers are open to all in case one time works better for you than the other.
    We'll have a new build addressing several of the reported issues.
     
    Patch Notes
     
    Match counter is now enabled, everyone has 25 remaining matches to play!
     
    GENERAL 
    Updated tool-tip User Interface: Statistics are now displayed correctly.  Updates to all Items resistance values.  Updated many particle FX to match ability timing better.  Added placeholder hit effects to every ability in the game. Updated match resolution screen to make winner information more visible. New Loading screen! Progress bar has been replaced with an animating icon.  Fixed bug re-entering character selection that would incorrectly have the login service thinking you had a character loaded. Players that fail to zone into a match in time will now be removed from the match. Previously, they were allowed to run around but were not on a team or included in the remaining player count. Visual adjustments to various item prefabs.  
    CONFESSOR
    Added SFX to Confessor's Immolate. Fixed an issue where Confessors would not take damage from the Hunger Dome after using  Immolation. Updated Confessor Sound Effects.  Fixed an issue that would cause the visual FX of Condemnation to not trigger correctly.  Condemnation damage now ticks 4 times a second.  Confessor's can now cast immolate while stunned / knocked down - increased cool down to 60 seconds. (up from 40 seconds). Zealot Rush's stamina cost adjusted to 65 (down from 70).    
    KNIGHT
    Fixed an issue where Knights would not take damage from the Hunger Dome after using Leap Smash. Block now stops Stuns and Knockdowns - Being hit with a stun or knockdown will deplete stamina.  Knight's Resolve Passive now restores 2% health twice a second for 4 seconds. (up from 1.5%).   
    LEGIONNAIRE
    Eternal Rage now also grants 10% crit chance for 10 seconds to the group and caster.  Legionnaire now passively buffs grouped players within 40 meters Attack Power by 25.  Removed group Attack Power Buff from Rallying Cry.  Dodge's stamina cost adjusted to 45 (down from 50). Dodge now moves the player 11.5 meters (up from 10).  No Quarter 2A and 2B have had their self heal effect increased by 10%.

    Overall I see daily improvements and I'm very optimistic for the future. My biggest gripe continues to be slow animations and constant stop starts with the use of every ability.
     
    Bugs
     
    - Chat - Hitting Enter to bring up the chat only works half the time
    - Alt tab - If you Alt-tab out of the game and return, the mouse cursor will be visible and you will not be able to control your character until you hit Alt.

    I believe the design decision to require legos to build rage was so they had to fight on the front lines along side knights.
     
    Take away that requirement and they would potentially just hang back away from the fighting.
     
    As far as balance goes. Meh... I'll worry about that in a year or two when it's closer to launch.

    No I don't actually. I don't see a difference in using animation lock to tell an opponent "do not stand here, time to move" over particular effects/ground graphics that tells the opponent the same thing. One limits character control however, while the other does not.
     
    Also, Wildstar failed because it was too hard for the average MMO player.
