    re: "why minis?"

    1. every collectors box does the "one big figure," and we wanted to be different

    2. at this point, guys who buy CE boxes like this already have a desk full of standing figures.  we thought this might scratch a different itch, and maybe appeal to a different crowd, as well

    3. if we had gone with a single large figure, we would have been forced to pick just one archetype / one gender, due to printing cost.  Even within OUR team, we couldn't agree on which archetype to do!  male legionnaire? female frostweaver? Elken?  female Ranger?  male Confessor? everyone had a different opinion, and 19/20 people would have been disappointed regardless of what we picked.

    ...and, most importantly...

    4. I really want to use Crowfall minis with my dwarven forge set.

Aha!  At last, my plan is revealed: this entire project was just an incredibly elaborate, multi-stage ruse to feed my 25mm addiction.

We get miniatures in our Collector's Edition?  That's so cool!  I didn't expect that.

Those minis need to be awesome; make sure you find a good manufacturer! I'm sure you will get a find one though. Congrats on reaching your capitol raise goal. And I cant wait to see another testing round!

No, Elz. This only applies to people who don't have their own accounts. As a backer, you are entitled to stream your little pink pigtails off.

Awesome! This sorta makes me want to Alpha test sooner - it neat seeing things as they progress rather than beta testing something closer to what the final game will be. That way you won't get spoiled by playing the same stuff?

Didn't watch all of it (silly work) but did skip from here to there; nice detail on what's currently available and seeing matches is great. I'll look forward to seeing all the footage/comments from the alpha testers!

Well if you start something there (or find a good story in there) let me know.

Haha, yeah, my husband always laments when I do it because he sees even less of me. Though really, since I write on a laptop in the living room as opposed to playing games on the desktop up in the office, it's like he sees more or me, right?

I didn't back the kickstarter for Storium, but I did get a subscription to it. I joined one Story and then it kinda petered out. Whoops. >_> (It was probably because it was around NaNoWriMo times).

I also have used Roll20 and it is definitely a good service for online D&D campaigns. They make improvements fairly often.

    I'm also one of those people who read it as bacon, once. >_>;

Personally, I'm not a fan of the pets, but I read it more as combat pets rather than 'gotta catch 'em all'. I mean, you may have to go find something if you didn't bring any in, but that's time and effort away from other goals, and I suspect they won't bring the end all be all combat advantage (or at least I hope they won't).

Yeah, I'm hoping it isn't too overused either. But with it being a Discipline, I think you'd be giving up a lot of other options to go find pets to send out. And since pets are like mounts, they take durability loss too, or can otherwise be killed. So I guess you'd have to be good at managing them and other things. I think that would be too hard for me. XD

I think most of my excitement has been done already - visited my sister in Seattle and I'm going to an anime con later this month.

Very impressive and nice to see a familiar project flow. (being a project / engineer myself)

I honestly have to say that the approach of development is really something.

Centaurs! Barrels! Obviously needs to barrel race!

Looks good! Centaur felt a little slow in the videos? Maybe because of plate? Maybe because we don't see the little peons running around trying to stop them? It's probably that. I tend to get that same 'feels like I'm walking slow' feeling on my Tauren because of size. Here we don't have direct movement comparisons.

I think the blue swoosh should be glowier. Loved the ripples from the knockback stuff. Charging through barrels is A+, would charge again.

In addition to the thoughts on WoW above, I think the most recent 'isolating' change was to give everyone a private, semi-customizable zone called a Garrison. Not too bad by itself, but much of the expansion's content is somehow tied to this private zone. It added a mini-game thing with followers that you collect and then send out on missions for rewards (so you get stuff for very little effort on playing the game on your part, including gear), tied professions and their materials very closely to the Garrison (to be harvested, and learned from Garrison buildings), and much of the content is related to your Garrison (quests originate from it, leveling quests refer to it). They gave you a hearthstone to get there too. With all the Garrison 'chores', many players would never leave the private area, meaning you wouldn't see other players on your connected servers. Even the 'hub' city didn't seem that bustling; and you never see anyone of the opposite faction. So a lot of people lost community connection because of the private world they were given little incentive to leave.

As a WoW player myself, I kind of liked the follower system but I agree having your minions go get you stuff and that's all that you do isn't very exciting for normal gameplay stuff. I -do- like the conveniences of Looking for Raid (queuing up for a dungeon group with others), and even flex raiding with people on other servers that I know across the account, rather than just people on my server. I do miss the feeling of 'I know the people on my server' but I think MMOs today have moved beyond locking people from their friends because you're on different servers. With a smaller population, you'll definitely see more of the same faces as opposed to WoW.

I... I don't think that would ever get old for me. I think it would make me smile a little every time. XD But I can understand where you're coming from, as far as what kind of move you'd be expecting.
