[speculation] next archetype is

Recommended Posts

Druid? I heard rumors of a double bar similar to Ranger, for healing and nuking. This is nothing official afaik.

If it's true, I am curious why they're not just adding frostweaver/templar/forgemaster since their models were already done.

Anyhow, who do you want to see next?

Druid or templar (according to this image)

edit: forgot the legionnaire who's in the "other" category ><

I'm predicting that we will get 2 new archetypes, but we may not get them until the first campaign begins. After SP, we will be testing the campaign/parcel building tools. They probably don't need a new archetype for that. Then we'll test the first campaign.

We know that some archetypes are hybrids of others:

http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/game/1214/feature/10417/The-Artcraft-School-of-Integrity.html/page/1

It turns out that several classes are, of course, hybrids of other classes.  The Templar being a blend of Knight and Confessor abilities, for instance.  As the team completes core mechanics (ranged combat and stealth being among the next to likely see attention), that opens up the purist archetypes and any hybrids that then have all the mechanics needed to make them functional.  Thus, we’ll probably see archetype releases increase in tempo as the team gets back to work after the holidays.

Ranged (physical) combat has been added with the Ranger. Neither full stealth nor anti-stealth have been added yet.

Templar is a hybrid which won't require much (or any) new tech. The Myrmidon is probably a hybrid of Knight and Champ. Neither the Frostweaver nor the Druid bring new mechanics to the game (I don't think). That leaves the Forgemaster, Duelist, Assassin and Stalker.

The Duelist and Forgemaster are both specialists who will have unique roles for sieges. My guess is that they want to see the results of the Siege Perilous testing before they decide exactly how they will build these archetypes.

So, that only leaves the Assassin and the Stalker, and I think both will be added at the same time when the first campaign starts. Both archetypes are natural extensions of the work they have done on the Ranger, so they may be able to build them fairly quickly.

I'm thinking the Assassin is next. Reason being that its a full stealth class and they'll want to get to testing its effects to the combat system and balance asap.

Or like above just said Druid with the thinking being now with the Ranger being in and the Lego being the only Support class might need another so that Legos can actualy play the way they are meant and not be overburdened by being the only heals in the game.

Maybe once they get the Druid in the game, and assuming that it will get a specific bar for healing powers (based on the leak posted on TD forums), maybe they could return the Legionnaire to its original role, buffing it with some additional damage and reducing/removing the AoE heal. That's something I'd like to see. Legionnaire as a not-so-mobile buff/aoe heal support just seems weird to me.

I'm going to raise the bar with both the Druid and Assassin. Reason is that there is less need to build new tech this time around. Archetypes will be easier to implement the later we get into development.

Well I think Legos should keep their heals but agree need more focus on the buffing side. Let them have options and let the players decide how much they want to do. Besides you take away Lego heals and you put the Druid in the same spot Lego is now with being the only heals and overburdened and being expected/demanded to heal because you rolled that class.

Well I'm hoping that the Druid will have aimed healing powers rather than AoE heals for most of its abilities.

I'd be fine with the Legionnaire keeping its heal, however once the Druid arrives I would reduce Legionnaire's heal and increase its damage. ACE can always create new support archetypes later. We needed an archetype to test the support mechanics during the Hunger Dome, so it made sense to put emphasis on its support abilities during that time.

Guinecean Duelist modell is done too I think. So if one goes by that the Duelist could be next too. Havnt seen animations though, which could be quite tricky.

I hope it's the Myrmidon, I know it won't be but one can dream.

Nope not until after launch. Myrmidon is the Kickstarter Archetype and not in the initial roster for the launch.

Pretty sure that Minotaur is supposed to be available at launch. Also it was planned that VIP members would have a 1-month head start with that archetype.

I'd be happy with either Druid or Frostweaver, but that's ofc because I'm interested in playing both. I'm fiddling with the idea of a melee mage pet build (HA) using frostweaver and of course hopefully necromancy or beastmaster disciplines (which we know little about...).

Primarily though I like to play healers as long as they are interesting... I'm patiently waiting for Druid just to see if it's got some jazz... and hopefully a bag of HoTs.

I guess it's a good thing we can level three archetypes at once as premium...

Wearily do I sleep eternity away.

Without fear or haste, on bedding made of solitude and silence.
