i think some sort of vague hints or pointers are fine. If you don't have anything then you'll have to make sure every single text blurb for every single quest is detailed enough to tell you where to go. Sorry but after playing MMOs all these years aint nobody got time anymore to be reading quest text lol. Just point me in the general direction and were good.

if somebody wants to do quests, then he better read the text and actually engage in the story and all.

What's the point of having them otherwise?

Do them right, or not at all... I'm voting for not at all btw

Quests should be randomized dynamic events players can partake.

An NPC bandit horde assaults the village, you're rewarded if you're participating in the city's defense.

Things like that.

Not everyone plays the game the same. Some see the point of quests as a means to an end and don't care about story.

Yeah I agree here. I really like the way GW2 does it. You don't really pick up quests and go A to B you just explore the map and play and partake in the events.

An event triggered by your presence is still a quest. It still makes you talk to people.

Semantics sure but 99% of the time you just explore and once you're near the NPCs area you get a pop-up saying what they want done you do it and you get rewarded. Only time you actually have to talk to an NPC is to start an escort quest. Also I'm talking the general map area stuff. Yeah the actual main storyline stuff is more like traditional MMO questline but everything else is like I described.
