Big World Step-BACK

Recommended Posts

with the 3.6 big world patch I had high hopes. With my logging in I noticed the pre req's needed for skill tree.  This alone is a big set back in game progression. Along with that note i see a lot of the same problems with the requirments of armor and skills. tedious and annoying.

Further more the food in this game is taking up 25% of my time, im either harvesting for apples or pine nuts and its a constant time sink.

please fix this its not a survival game, food is a big part but it needs to be implemented right, like for combat regen harvesting consumables etc.

10 steps backwards.... pretty upset with what was presented in this patch

Seems like the game is full of painful and tedious features atm.

  • Food & food consumption.
  • Durability Loss.
  • Acquiring gear in comparison to losing it.
  • Cumbersome crafting UI.
  • Boring and tedious progression.
  • Loading in the game with literally no abilities to use. Hamfisting armor as an requirement to use your abilities.

On the good side it's pre-alpha or alpha (depending on how you look at it, and regardless of what they want to call it), so things can only get better.

I dunno why u were expecting anything different it was Obvious that you would need to learn say crafting basics before u can move onto advance crafts, Same deal with combat basics and all that.
You also move through those tree's rather quickly cause there all low tier skills so dont worry to much bout it.

Food a problem now but i think once farming and all that is unlocked and in it wont be as much of an issue, also craftign acamp fire with meat isnt difficult so i use that more to get food back by dropping it at a node and mine the nodes in range of fire place range.

I do feel crafting recipes need to be a little easier since full loot bame they need to be rather quick to get back although that being said alot of the time involved in making them is the craft times which may not be an issue to much when factory get added since u can make one and blueprint it and mass produce 10 or so more sets using the thralls. But will have to see Thralls are in.

My main concern with crafting atm is you may lack resources to produce alot of the things when game comes out since there be not harvesting pots and no one with harvesting skills leveled up so there be very little resources coming in. Easy solution is to have a cheap set that doesnt cost asmuch resources for basic sets for low crafting skill but you unlock more sets that are better but requires more resources as crafters progress through the tree. (For example Light plate, Medium plate and full plate varying on protections and resources required)

at least not disable but setup some digits correctly for testing

  • slower hunger
  • less dura lost on death for advanced weapon
  • implementing banks before enable such futures

90% of time you are gathering and w8ting some1 who will kill you

ok, with 2 ppl (now with chests) you can save resources with second character but this is way too wrong

I think I understand the confusion.  This is a test, not a game.

that may be the case but if they put in a more friendly version of food ,dura etc and change it back later , then people are gonna complain why they made it harder.

For me the system is ok. People have to get used to it anyway so no need to change it.

In the coming month more and more stuff will be added including EKs.  So just wait and see.

It is the case period, I don't think it's bad for people to leave feedback on everything, but they shouldn't be getting "upset" about testing parameters.

Some people may never understand that every good test setup has to use different variables to get different datas that will be used to find the best way to finally do something.

Just like some people may never learn to constructively use the dedicated feedback threads, instead of simply expressing there displeasure somewhere.

But thats just a guess and maybe i err. Maybe it's not even a guess, but just some kind of suggestion.

I just hope this is just for testing, and doesnt represent the final game.

Seems kind of a grinding MMO this Alpha or Beta is, I dont care what they wanna call it.

They said Open Beta to start end of 2016 a few months ago, and before that they said. release of Crowfall end of 2016.

The game is nowhere near any one of these!

The estimated release date was a joke from the very beginning, nonetheless its what they have told us, so they stand responsible for it.

Due to the release or even Open Beta being miles away from the state the game is in right now, its a bit disappointing.

At least the game isnt canceled and is making progress again.

The big world is not stepping back, and unfortunately, neither are you.

Stepping back would allow you to realize that these fancy mechanics are just under this very specific setup to push player to grind-test them, not to enjoy them.

Welcome to pre-alpha testing.

As testers you should do the same as he does, give feedback. If this is how he feels, don't reply to him as if you have THE truth. He knows that this is a test and gives his feelings. I feel like people around here are only looking for someone to crush as soon as he posts something that they disagree with.

Anyway, the food at 3.6 is too hard to provide, I also noticed harvesting tolls durability decreasing too fast compared to 3.5. Not really a big deal, but yea, I noticed it.

First the food hunger and durability really are too much right now. that everybody agrees.

But complaining about skill trees pre reqs? Seriously? I dont even know what to say...

And about skils needing equips to work, i ask you guys, Did you plan to run in the game without equips at all? You guys are complaining about something you would do anyway. This is custard stupid! If you run around naked i hope you get insta-killed for being a noob. I dont get it. Seems like people here dont know the basics of MMO games. You can craft armor/weapons with 2-3 wood! FFS!

Yes, we should. Absolutely. And it will help more if such feedbacks are given constructively and in the feedback threads where they belong, instead of spreading them everywhere, from the ingame chat through the suggestions forum up to the discussions forum and elswhere. Especially if the main focus of those statements increasingly seem to be the complaining action itself.

If someone wants to help the development, they should go to the feedback thread and share constructive feedback. And if they just don't, they should be prepared to get feedback themselves. So i can't copy your feeling about "just crushing".

I'm okay with them trying out different things, but people are still going to give their feedback. I agree that you should have an incentive to craft armor (besides the obvious), and that naked pvp is stupid. However coupling powers to different armor pieces is really dumb. There are a lot more sensical ways to emphasize the need to craft armor besides gutting archetypes and piecing out their abilities to armor.

Some of the skill prereqs are awesome, like combat principles to weapon and armor specialization.  Some, like the crafting ones, are terrible.  The basic crafting tree was an interesting conflict of interest before, now it's just terrible.

Increased crafting speed is worthless, why force all leatherworkers to go through three tiers of increased crafting speed?  Why are blacksmiths inherently better at experimentation?  Bring back the old Crafting basics tree, it was far better.

We are also missing features that let us store resources/mass produced etc

This is huge. At the moment the loss of gear and resources is incredibly punishing because there is no storage yet. You can't create backup sets of gear or stockpile extra resources. You either have everything or nothing.
