Attention Testers!

 

I am in need of people to help transcribe the various powers in the game for each Archetype for use in a community-discord bot. This bot, when completed, will be freely available to anyone to invite to their server (source code will also be made available to those who wish to run their own copy).

 

I am currently in the process of flushing out a research command which will display tooltips about powers, archetypes, and disciplines into the channel for easy reference in your future theorycrafting discussions. 

 

To get started, you simply need to have access to the testing client. Once you've logged in to the character screen, you can click on the View Powers button and begin the act of transcribing the data. The format for each individual power in the game (including each step of a combo!) will be in pseduo-JSON format and will need to look like this... (note: you can delete the // and text after it on each line, its just a guide to help tell you what to put in each spot!).

Thanks to everyone who assisted with this project to date, we've made some great progress. I wanted to share with the community that I have plans to move all gathered data into a publicly accessible github library for use within your own projects. We will allow people to contribute to it at anytime, and we'll make efforts to let the community tell us (through discord _or_ github) when something is wrong with the data so we can fix it.

 

In the next few days I'll be rolling out the next phase of data gathering with Crafting... lots of fun features planned for this one. I'll also be rolling out a placeholder'ish site describing what crowfallBot does for the community and a way to easily invite it to your discord should you choose to.

It would be AWESOME to have a REST API with this data.

By the way, if you need icons for the powers, I got that ready, just ask me :)

Wipa, thanks for the comment. We do plan on creating a REST API so people can tap into this eventually.

 

Still holding out the devs might do something along these lines for us first though. We don't have an ETA on when that would be made available. Right now I've been distracted by a few other projects but we are going to be working on Crafting next inside CFBot. It should help people map out what resources are needed to make items.
