Which Class/Race/Discipline for gatherers/crafters?

Recommended Posts

Now that AT are changed and there are many new possibilities and abilities...

What do you think is the best Race/Class/Disciplines combination for people that dont want to fight?

So target should be high defense, good escape skills, high running speed, while damage and utility are less interesting... which would you choose and why?

As of right now I find Knights are the best harvesters.  They have the largest stamina pools and can easily farm an entire node with one stamina bar.  Add in the tankiness and heavy CC that the Knight kit (and Disciplines) bring and you can easily defend yourself against an aggressor.

EDIT:  The Race/Class system isn't in game yet so there is no telling how races will effect harvesting.

centaurs could also be good harvesters due to not having to worry about bringing a mount (which can be killed).  It allows them to quickly move between different gathering areas and flee if they are attacked by surprise.

Aside from them, assassin's might also be decent simply because they can run and stealth if ambushed to avoid being killed and losing all the materials they have gathered.

When it comes to gathering materials solo at least, being able to survive enemy attacks is probably more important to actual gathering speed, since you will lose the stuff you gathered if you died.

Other than that, we'll have to see what unique racial/class restrictions are put in place in terms of disciplines and passives.

Well hard to say, since the class/race split not been implemented and we only so far have combat disciplines, we will get both crafting and gathering deisciplines later, and those are the ones you want to use obviously

Any of the stealth classes (Assassin, Duelist, Ranger) for sneaking in and out, or the Centaur for running away.  In my EK the Druid is nice to port from node to node but I would not want to try and fight gankers as a druid.  For discs Bard for running away faster and a harvesting disc when they are put in.  Right now there are passive harvesting abilities you can take that preclude the need for Minor Discs if you are harvesting and have no harvest skill.

I assume that carrying a decent amount of loot will not be possible with the stealth machanic and will also probably make you slower. Thats where the packing animals come in. But such important details we do not know yet.

Something with stealth and high mobility.
