Poll: Do you want to see a spirit bank wipe before campaign world test?

Recommended Posts

you want to test things how they will be live.. so there will be "wipes" when new campaigns start

but you also need to test what it will be like 1/2 way through a campaign when every one is stocked up

so either way is fine really

i think they should wipe the bank:

a ) to simulate an 'EK resource quality only' import and fresh start

b ) they have made focus orbs uncraftable and this would flush them all out of the system (dont want them floating back up to the top thanks...)

c ) just to annoy the alt-account-farming-addicts

d ) force people to gather resources within the new campaign worlds, hopefully with large active populations, without the protection of instantly storing your items from being looted

We don't have enough information to actually form a decent opinion on what is "best" for the development of the project.

Agree.
This pool is pointless.
No more time to spend on such a thread.

Catelyn: War will make them old, as it did us. I pity them.
Mathis: Why? Look at them. They're young and strong, full of life and laughter. And lust, aye, more lust than they know what to do with. There will be many a bastard bred this night, I promise you. Why pity?
Catelyn: Because it will not last. Because they are the knights of summer, and winter is coming.

Yep, wipes are coming, despite some of the misinformation that is spread on these forums at times.

U can post poll threads in the Suggestion Box forum.

And quit posting click-bait that even VN answers well on. I hate agreeing with that guy.

Yeah, well.

What most probably don't see is that regarding 5.2 we have different testing groups again. Pre-alpha first, then alpha, ...

So what will happen?

Will there be a specific date when ALL inventories have been saved and only those items will be transferred to the new 5.2? In that case, what happens with the stuff the people who didnt have access to 5.2 did gather in the meantime?

Will inventories be transfered depeding on the date someone gets access to 5.2? The Pre-Alphas could tell the alphas in their comunities, guilds and groups what they should gather. Would that be fair?

What happens with the stuff, those who have access gathere, when a new test group enters?

I most like the idea of wiping inventories completely at a certain point. For example after the beta's went in. And to tell the testers when, why and how it will happen. It would be easy equal footing again. Connect it with the big skill wipe and it might hurt more ... but less long.

Wipes are important.  I think their main reason for not wiping so much so far is because of the QQ they might get.  But eventually new testers will outnumber old ones and people will want to test on a more even playing field.

Should they care about even playing fields in testing?  Probably not, but the same can be said about whether people should care about getting their stuff wiped during testing.
