Teleportation?

Recommended Posts

Can we have an option to press F at the golden dragon of a fort we control to teleport back to home base? its a very big inconvenience being forced to walk back to home base if you want to switch classes after taking every fort, and the whole point of testing is for us to switch between toons and try them all right? not just a walking simulator? you could make it a 1 way trip so guilds of people don't pop up at the middle of the map, and it cant be used if the bar of control is lower than X% or if the walls/siege have been attempted in the last X amount of minutes? to me it makes sense for pre-alpha so we can practice more and walk around being angry a lot less. obviously remove it when the game goes into bigger testing with more people so there is the forced element of fighting, but with a max of 10 people online at any time in pre-alpha, I have zero fear of getting jumped and its just a longgggggg walk to switch classes.

Most of us want no quick travel, no teleports, no summons and no recalls.  Get running homie.

pls no teleportation, the walk will be shorter when they add mounts to the game to many games have some form of teleportation or quick travel and usually those worlds feel empty.

Yeah don't think any sort of long range teleport is a good idea, sure you can make the argument for adding it for testing only, but its a thing that unlike adding easy to get weapons, or making easy to craft disciplines, implementing a long range teleport is much more likely on its own to break things, and as such would introduce a lot of bugs that would not otherwise be there

It really isn't that far.  We are testing the system as a whole not just classes, all aspects.  No teleports please.

yeah the launch CW will be many many times bigger than what we have now, they are in fact very compact the ones we have currently

Travelling is a not unimportant point of Crowfall. You have to find save trails to get your goods from A to B or to attack Fort X without being discovered by the other army. It's not that important now, but with real sieges and caravans it will be. And with mounts travelling will be more convenient anyways. There is just no reason to waste time to develop and implement a feature like teleportation that will only have a limited use for a short period of time.

As a workaround: You can always look for a nice roof or hill and jump down until you are dead. Use the hero statue first to summon your old body (including it's inventory) and then one of the smaller statues to change the character.
