@thomasblair@mhalashace You can pre-charge your Ults on the training dummies and NPCs in the beachhead.  It takes very little time and is required for any real combat engagement.

"resurrection for support and Templars is in for 5.5"

Thats probably the most dynamic change to combat we've seen in a long long time. From the prior stream I believe it was mentioned that support would get a ground targeted AoE Rez while the Templar will get a single target "lay on hands" Rez. Any chance you could go into detail on the resurrection system? I'd love to get the specifics, see it in action, before 5.5 hits TEST.

And on FFA servers you get the silly dynamic where people charge their Ults on their own friends between fights.

And you can bet if they remove target dummies that people will just use an alt account from another faction to pre charge on faction servers.

Certain classes are dead ducks without their defensive ultimate abilities so any ideas such as soul power decay or eliminating pre charging will destroy these classes (assassin, duelist, confessor, etc.)

The whole mechanic sucks quite frankly. I'd rather get cooldowns back on ultimate abilities.

Also it is laughably easy to precharge on pigs or any other mob.

I'm a fan of the precharge, made a whole suggestion post about it. I think the resting buff from fires should just restore soul power so its less of a chore and feels intended rather than exploitative if we're intended to gain benefit from precharging long term.

barriers from disciplines are negating all damage types and not just the ones specific to the discipne

Barriers from disciplines are designed to create a barrier to all damage types..until the damage cap on the barrier is broken or the duration timer expires. The specific damage types from the discipline often create immunity to that damage type (ie don't count in dropping the barrier) or have a higher threshold for that specific damage type. For instance, Pin Cushion from Scarecrow is a 500pt barrier but piercing damage immunity for its duration. Thus, a 600 pt crushing blow will drop the barrier and only land 100pts of crushing damage. A 600pt piercing strike will do nothing. In contrast, the Arcane Archer barrier is a 500pt barrier to all damage and a 2500 pt barrier to elemental. A 3,000pt fire damage spell will cause 500pts to land. The Holy Avenger's "Suns of Worvan" provides a 500pt barrier and fire immunity for the duration...thus a 3,000pt fire damage spell will do zero damage.

then it should say that it grants a barriar to all damage types and not just one...

It actually doesn't say that. It says it grants a barrier (which means a barrier to all damage...which is true of all barriers) that also is immune to crushing. The key word is "with" in that sentence. The tool tip could be better...without a doubt. Don't worry...once you've played more you'll get the hang of it.

If this is true all my theorycrafting has changed lol. I definitely misunderstood the tooltip

Its absolutely true...although I'm not 100% what it has to do with today's Q&A video.

Well thanks for opening my eyes, greatly appreciated

All tooltips are suspect in this game right now. I know of 2 dozen instances where the tooltip says one thing, but the tooltip does something entirely different (bug or intended, hard to know!).

Pre-charging soul power on Training Dummies

Pre-charging soul power on Boars/Cats

Pre-charging soul power on friends in FFA

Pre-charging soul power on alt account in other Faction

It's all silly and feels exploitive, but it's such a huge advantage to have your Ult ready (or double Ult for some classes) at the start of a fight that we feel forced to do it.

Druids can also pre charge on balls from LMB but clerics get no charge from heals.

in lieu of a spammable [or maintainable] auto attack...

[also when someone picks up multiple orbs at once it counts as just "one hit" for purposes of soul power regen]

fairly certain they all work in the same way that the arcane archer does - with a cap on "immune" damage so you can blast through it - and you can strip the whole thing away with non specific damage type - they just did not update the tooltips for the others. [mm vauge tooltips]
