I have been wondering of late how the soft-launch was going to be possible within the narrowing 2018 window; good call to be realistic and push it out to 2019.

So there is water?  I thought Todd mention several times he hates water.

Do you plan on adding major resource mines like in Shadowbane at some point? Having something that guilds can fight over for resources Just isn't in the game. We really don't have anything worth fighting over...

Yeah, I do hate water.  we have some generating in some of the parcels -- it's just not working great, because we haven't spent any real time on it.   Flowing water, in particular, is annoying, because it causes issues at parcel boundaries (which is why the "riverlands" tile set is currently dry.)

I'm sure we'll have to make it better eventually.  just not high on my list.

Some mine POI's would really push more PvP and reward those who can hold it with more than bragging rights.

Good progress so far this year, and exciting news about the technology license!

Not surprised about moving the target date. Disappointing of course, but glad the priority is always to make a great game.

I can't say I'm surprised at another delay. There are far too many essential systems that you haven't implemented, let alone iterated over based on player feedback. 

This seems fairly common-sense for most of the testers, who have struggled to playtest during lag and other related performance issues. I appreciate the fact that you admitted this in July, instead of in November like last time.

I still would like to know more details of the licensing agreement for your MMO Engine. The number of new engineers you can bring on board, and other related details. Seems like a good fit for ACE, seeing as how you didn't want to stop making MMOs with Crowfall. Would be interested to hear how quickly you can hire and get them integrated, any new engineering team members seem like a good way to accelerate development.

Doesn't matter I guess. They would rather answer your question about water than inform the playerbase about possible pvp content in the future.

The game is very close to being fun to play for long periods of time. The problem is the POIs mean nothing because there aren't any win conditions.

You guys could make the testing FAR more compelling if you added a cursory scoreboard that ticks up as you own forts and keeps. A very simple scoreboard/hooligan measuring apparatus would do this game a world of good.

Obviously the real goal is to make compelling POIs on their own but in the interim it'd be nice to get a very basic scoreboard.

I think it's good to set goals that are difficult to attain (release 2018) and also good to be realistic about those goals as the target approaches. I picked back up yesterday after probably six months without playing, and I agree with Zybak, the game is very close to sustaining my interest as a full(ish)-time game.

I don't get it, there is literally a mine POI in the game. At least there was on a previous map. What else did you have in mind?

The mine POIs don't provide something people would bother fighting over yet. The system needs work if it is going to drive activity.

I find it interesting that a writing tone was taken here that suggests development has slowed down because of play-testers complaining too loudly.

Fix things that we don't like?

Does ACE like where these features are at in terms of presentation and functionality?

You aren't subtly taking the approach that Soulbound Studios did to explain their delays by blaming the community for asking too many questions, etc.

It seemed to generate fights in earlier version maps, if for no other reason to create a place to congregate and duke it out.

Personally I think fights don't happen for a variety of other reasons. For example, numbers disparity, difficulty in grouping up, debilitating lag, etc.
