02/17/15 - Voxel Farm & Elken Stalkers!

Recommended Posts

I am wondering how much of space this game will take on my hard drive... But heck it is WORTH IT!

Agreed. I will add up to a 250G SSD for Crowfall - so there's your limits ACE - 250G. ;)

Now I am torn...

I really dig non-standard races and an literally sick to death of the race choices being variations of short, tall, fat, long-eared, and odd-colored humans.

Fond, fond memories of the Centaurs and Minotaurs in Shadowbane. You had me at Centaur, and I was all set to just roll a pony. But now there is the Elken...

The Elken read like something I would really get into, especially if the race lore is equally awesome...

The gerbils are cool too, and if Reepicheep from Naria has taught us anything, it's that rodents with swords are totally badass. But I need to see one in action first.

Oh, and voxels are cool too. ;)

Furthermore, we're still under the impression that the Hunger will be eating away at everything, too, requiring updates to the voxels in either realtime or in designated updates (but no one wants to see that griffon go from full feathered to skin and bones in a blink of an eye). ...

Well after reading your post I realized that I would need something more powerful than this 2.9ghz/6gb/HD8450G laptop to run the game properly!  :P

Concerning the Hunger, I'm pretty sure that players will appreciate to see some noticeable changes to the environment rather than having some realtime gradual modifications.

By me, four "Hunger" updates per campaign would be sufficient : summer, fall, winter, collapse.

I don't think plan on having a archetype that is a healer, they have said they plan to have "limited" healing in Crowfall, think more along the line of GW2 I think here.

Yes I got that know. Not sure how I'd missed that fact. :)

I'm fairly sure they can just make the ground indestructible.

No they said that you could dig through the ground. a solution to this is that the terrain,  heals over time, like EQN. however, since each world is time limited, that may not matter entirely.
