Spirit Bank usable only in facction temple

Recommended Posts

How about we create many alts to grind and if we are under attack, just open the Spirit Bank and save all itens...

Solution?
Make Spirit Bank usable only on Facction Temple...

i believe what you are proposing is already planned. it's just not implemented yet. spirit bank being used out in the pvp zones is not the intention. it is just the current version of their implementation to get things going while they are working on other game mechanics. basically, it's a bandaid fix until the proper one is ready.

Simpler solution; once combat begins, initiated by whomever, even against a mob, spirit bank is unusable until having returned to a noncombat state for X number of seconds.  I actually agree with disallowing spirit bank *in combat*, but harvesters, who are by their very nature typically weaker than the combat specialists ambushing them, shouldn't have to be running back and forth to base every five minutes to stash their goods, either.

i'm a gatherer / crafter and i disagree. they don't need to run back every 5 minutes, but they shouldn't be able to bank in the field period. For example, they can farm for the duration of a tool or buff (15m-30m period) then bank. and repeat process.

You're not going to be crafting much if you get killed a dozen times in that 30 minute time period, and lose not only whatever you gathered, but the tools to do so, and the tools you replaced those with, and your armor / weapons when those decay, and so on and so forth.  When combatant types are able to make a fortune jumping harvesters, what incentive do they have to fight people who can actually defend themselves?

i'm not going to be gathering much if i go solo. which is why i would just go in groups. having said that, i go farming solo without dying quite often. i just keep changing the way i do things.

*edit*

I should also add, when it is live, there will be multiple campaigns running at once. Just jump on the quieter campaigns.

Bring combatants with you when you harvest.

To be honest, this seems like a waste of time and development, because they have a Bank in the Temple and a Spirit Bank, strikes me as a form of double work.

But if they are going to do something like this, it would be better to have one huge Shared Bank (Spirit bank) with no limit on transactions, that can be only accessed in Forts, Keeps, Temples, as well as EK's the Free City.

Not really a practical solution.  Even if I buy into the notion that solo players must be punished for having the audacity to attempt the playstyle they prefer, or those without a massive friends network must be left in the cold,  how do you think that conversation would go?  "Hey fellas, wanna stand around bored for hours while I bang on rocks?  If someone shows up to murder me you'll get nothing from their bodies, assuming we prevail, cause they're combat types with literally nothing to lose.  Sound fun, right, how bout it?"

I thought my compromise was fairly practical, but that might be a reasonable compromise to the compromise.  Choice is good

I agree 100% that "bring an escort" is poor excuse for this problem. I don't think it works with the current scattered resources.  Everyone's roaming the map.  Fighters who are only looking for a bad guy to kill are slowed down by escorting.  If gatherers feel like loot pinatas, they'll just quit.

In the final product, I hope to see the high value resources in central locations. (forests, quarries, mines, graveyards, dens, etc) If all the gatherers are in a few pois, attackers will be attracted to them.  So, friendlies looking to fight will also flock to the pois since that's where the enemy will be.  It'll make it more likely that escorts will stick around to protect the site + road back to the fort/keep. There's mutual benefit here.  Gatherers get better protection and fighters get good bait.

That said, soloing is always going to be a challenge in this game, especially for gathering.  It's designed to be a team game.  What may make more sense right now is to join a guild and partner with other gatherers and go after mother loads.  That way, you might have the numbers to scare/fend off the solo roamers.  Plus, you can get better stuff.

If you insist on playing solo right now, your best bet is probably to switch sides.  Roll an assassin.  Seems to be about the best solo experience in the game right now.

To be honest, with the game balance as it is, even going in groups is not helpful, I just watched a duelist drop 3 of my group members like nothing, their life didn't even move as we tried to fight back. It was pitiful.

Unless they fix the balance issue with this game, anyone trying to gather may as well consider themselves a loot pinata, and no doubt will be treated as such. I mean right now, with backers that have invested hundreds to play this game, and know that it's Pre-alpha, it's vastly different game fort us, but when this game goes lives, and they this is not addressed, as you said, they will quit in short order.

or the conversation can go along the lines of:

"Hey fellas, where you ganking at?"

"sweet! an enemy adventure zone. i'll farm there since you are scaring their gatherers away"

That is a pvp issue and could probably need balancing. Seperate issue but maybe you could also answer the following questions:

What level are you and your friends?

What gear you wearing? Naked, good/poor common, uncommon, rare etc?

Are all of you spec for gathering or only 1 is and the rest are spec for actual combat?

Are you familiar with PvP?

To answer your Questions in Order:

30, all of us.

No idea about my guild mates but I was wearing Common level Leather, and common level Advanced crafted weapons.

I was playing a cleric and a gathering focused build, no idea about the others, but I really hope our fae assassin was combat spec.

and I joined this game because I thought this would be an upgrade to the MOBA's and Arena Battle games I have been playing for the last few years,. Going to say.. at this point the balance so far, has been a huge let down for me.

from what little i know about combat (and i do know very little since i'm a gatherer / crafter), most people have high mitigation to physical damage and possibly piercing as well when going against the guards. if you find a way around that, you can probably do some good damage.

Well one reason might be cause they never done a balance pass yet. To early in development for that they tune thing a little that are blantenly broke but there not doing any real balancing yet. To time consuming when there next addition to the game may break the balancing work they just did.
